  I've seen this happen when opening a program via a shortcut (for example. LNK file), you are asked what type of program to open it with.   We published a new version of Adobe Bridge (CC 2015) on July 19, 2016. This update is available via the Adobe Creative Cloud application.

  Mount the DMG and run the installer from the reader.

  Open Safari and go to: Safari > Preferences

  On the Security tab, make sure 'Allow all other plugins' is checked.

  You can now redownload previously "damaged" PDF files and they will be open.
