  I am developing a p2p (RTMFP) webcam chat application with AS3 and FMS. For test purposes, I use "rtmfp://p2p.rtmfp.net" and now, I'll use FMS on Amazon AWS.

  What I didn't understand is typical what application should I use on FMS? There are four types of applications preconfigured on FMS, these are alive, the livepkgr, the multicast and vod. I guess that live or multicast, but I can't choose between them, I'm a bit confused. Or maybe I did not install any application? Can you help me with this?

  My scenerio application is; a user will connect to the SGF and webservice and get farID of the interlocutor of webservice and will be on audio/video chat with side remote because it sends the stream. (with one person) Pretty much as application example of Cirrus.

  Also I have another question, I would also like to publish (consultant in my case) only one video to several people (customers) at the same time (one to many), clients will not publish any video or audio, they will only watch and hear the consultant. Can I use RTMFP and P2P for this? Guess this will increase crazily publishers bandwidth needs, so should I I use streaming over FMS and let the customers for the FMS data flows?

  one of the built-in applications that work with RTMFP will be similar to Cirrus P2P research.  If you make your own application, you can use it for the exchange of peer ID and not bother with the web application.

  You can use the P2P multicasting for your video 1-to-many scenario.  in this case the peers to redistribute the flow to the other peers; the original Publisher has no need to send a separate copy for each Subscriber.  peers will need (on average) at least 1 x the bandwidth of flow in the ability to download for it to work effectively.  in practice tests, we found that the original Publisher will be able to download on 3-5 x the bandwidth of flows for effective distribution in a P2P group, regardless of the size of the group.

  If 3-5 x upload at the original Publisher is not practical, but 1 x - ish on each peer is convenient, you can use the multicast P2P edition of FMS.  This can reduce the necessary bandwidth to the FMS of 1 x per subscriber for about 3-5 x (ish) independent of the number of subscribers.  the 'multicast' FMS app and multicast stream Configurator page can be used for this.

• Toshiba 46TL868 - erratic navigation of media server content

  Hi all

  I have a Toshiba 46TL868 LED TV, connected to my PC via Ethernet cable.
  Using the features of TV DLNA I'm able to browse the content of my PC but there is a problem:
  If I nested folders, I can select t properly files because the selection is moved by positions as the number of listed files.

  Example: I m a folder that contains subfolders 3 and 10 files of navigation.
  The first icon in the list is the icon of the back then I FOLDER1, FOLDER2, FOLDER3, then FILE1, FILE2... DEPOSER10

  If I select file1 and press OK to read it, the TV starts playing FILE4 (because I have 3 folders selection real past by 3).

  In the same way, if I select FILE4 and press OK to play the TV starts playing FILE7 and so on.
  There is no problem if I don't have subfolders.

  I tried the servers of different media (Plex, Serviio, Windows Media Server, TVmobili...), but the behavior is the same.

  I tried the SW TV update, but it s already up-to-date.

  I have a problem with streaming * avi files * via * DLNA * on my TV * 40TL838 *. My * Ubuntu Server 12.04* is my Media Server with a * Plex Media Server * running on it. The Plex Media Server is my DLNA server. I am able to view the mkv, m4v, m4v... videos, but my avi files I can see, but if I select a nothing happens.
  Streaming via DLNA on my iPhone or iPad is no problem.

  First I would recommend you to check the records of media supported player.
  This is mentioned in the manual on page 67/68

  There, you will find all the details on the format of media supported, video codec and audio codec USB and DMS (digital media server is a device that can function as server for a player) reading.

  The basic operation is also described in the 40-43 user manual page.

I tried to remove it from the web INTERFACE, but it is still visible to the computers on my network and always accessible on port 9000.   My ReadyNAS 516 runs 6.4.1 - T21 (beta version). The Logitech Media Server App that I do turn has version 1.06 and is maintained by chick I think. The interface Logitech Media Server tells me that there is an update.

  Okay, found _some_ answers to my own questions on here.

  I installed packages from the command line using 'dpkg-i'.

  First, I ran into a problem with leafp2p package, but the addition of article initV of the start-stop as mentioned here does the trick for this.

  When you try to install lms_1.0.8_all.deb I received warnings that /lib/ld-linux.so.2 was about to be crushed (!)

  Somehow chick put this file in the LMS package, although it is also in the libc6-i386 package. Maybe I don't have knowledge, but put me these types of files in your own package is not very wise.

  I did this:

  Installed lms_1.0.8_all.deb with 'dpkg--force - overwrite - i' and restore the original situation afterwards (symbolic links were not followed)

  The Logitech Media Server was showing again after these actions. Telling me the version was 1.0.8 on the ReadyNAS interface. Telling me it is 7.8.1 on the Logitech Media Server interface on port 9000.

• 4300 WNDR media server is not available

  I have configured the media server on my WNDR 4300 and I checked that the connected USB drive is "authorized" (extendent USB setting). However, customers DLNA cannot connect to the system and it is not visible in the network.

  I tried iPhone MoliPlayer, Windows 7 with VLC player, Windows 7 with media player, LG TV and receiver Yamaha. Windows 7 server is directly attached to the device WNDR.

  \\Readyshare works correctly.

  I had stopped access control and restarted - no difference (always not visible).

  I checked that all the devices are allowed to connect to the network (new authorized devices).

  I rebooted several times WNDR without alteration.

  I have no idea what setting could be the problem / reason for this behavior.

  I have the firmeware 1.0.2.80 which seems to be the last.

  Any idea?

  I was able to delete the folder and change permissions rebuilt DB DLNA. Now everything works.

• Old mini mac as a media server?

  I have a MacMini 2.1 Intel Core 2 Duo, 1.83Ghx, 2 GB RAM Mac Mini that has only a DVI video port.  Currently, the mini does nothing and I would like to unload my primary iMac iTunes account and share the mini for different computers in the House and the current 1 (soon add another) Apple TV.  99% of my media is in iTunes.  I have a 2 GB external spare hard drive I can use on the MacMini for storage.

  A colleague suggested I use the mini as a server multimedia and mentioned 3 applications/tools - Synology Nas free and Plex.  I would like to hear suggestions on how best to continue this Mac Mini as a media server using an external drive.  Is the fastest way to transfer just my iTunes library current of my primary iMac on the external drive on the MacMini?  Currently, my main iMac is where I manage my iTunes account, synchronize devices, purchase new media, etc.  I'm afraid that if I have the unloading to the Mini, how can I manage my current workflow?

  Step by step is simple, because they do not exist. This is because you cannot use Time Capsule as a media server because it does not provide this type of service. At best, you can use your TC for storage media. Then you still have a media server to access these files for distribution. This media server could be iTunes, Plex, or in infusion for example.

  Sometimes the thing (with WIFI off and once all off data services) will say it is connected to a media server and switch to a landscape screen (I guess that's normal for a connection to the real media server, but who knows). Any time I try to understand what exactly it is connected to the display will switch back to normal. I have never used this feature before and worry. Recently it seems that the problem has progressed to dock car, as well. The application will start randomly for no apparent reason.
  Anyone else have any ideas, or know how can I stop this?
