Advanced Action help - the user must select all before moving on to the next slide

I need a tip action that will require the user to select a number of option buttons containing information until the next button appears. I don't know how to write it. I want the user to be able to select each button in any order that they choose. Can someone give me a step by step process? Your help is greatly appreciated!

What version do you use? Why radio buttons? The behavior expected normal of radio buttons is that only one can be selected, you seem to ignore what is generally accepted. As having a next button appears only after several items have been selected, this has been explained many times in this forum and have many examples in my blog. They are free, maybe not considered worth nothing...

You need a variable associated with each item. Click on an item to trigger a conditional action advanced or shared with two decisions. First decision is simulated standard action, rotate the variable from 0 to 1, then is a real condition that will make the next visible button if all variables have the value 1.

  • Sound does not stop with slide - sound pieces of the next slide

After four hours of pounding on it and do not understand, I succumb to the demand in the community.  Here's how I did:

6 blades (just started the project and decided to test it)

Every slide except #2 has audio speech synthesis of the direction of speech. (I used Paul, but that shouldn't matter)

I have a button on each slide to continue so that the blade stops for the user to view graphics, etc.  Button action is the next slide.

When the slide plays, he reached the end of the audio and continues to play audio on the following slides, even if the blade has failed.

Why didn't t - it's not the sound that stops at the end of the slide?

You misunderstood what I tried to explain. There is no sense of silence if adds the audio clip itself (should be noise). But in the timeline panel, move the timeline audio off the beginning of the slide and leave space after him as well. Something like 0, 2secs

  • Checkbox Widget & advanced Actions help

    Hi all

I created a slide containing 2 issues (1 using the Widget of CheckBox and 2 using the Radio button Widget) as shown below.

    Screen Shot 2015-10-06 at 10.15.53.png

I implemented an advanced Action (below) that verifies that the user has selected the right answers and then displays feedback (being good or bad) and then move to the next slide. The correct answers are 2 and 5 for the Widget of Checkbox and No. for the Radio Btn Widget.

The problem I have is to do with question 1 that uses the widget of the checkbox. Although the user must select 2 and 5, they can select several checkboxes and the slide advances always. Is anyway I can reconfigure my tip action, while this does not happen?

    Thank you

    Hi Ross

Try this: it is the action of tip attached to the "submit" button.

  • Impossible to go to the next slide after the addition of advanced response and other action

    Hello
I'm creating a quiz and there are problems, that I can't solve.
I have a flash project with the login page, where the user must fill out name, company and e-mail address. This e-mail address to send the results of the quiz. After correctly to fill in the gaps and click OK, my flash app starts within the project Adobe captive 4 (swf file). And now the problems:

    1. in my captivate project: I have a question, 3 replies, 3 possible attempts and only one correct answer. If the wrong answer user, there are gray hightlight, which should apears on my chosen wrong answer in a box and stay there to mark already selected response and there is also an animation of text "Sorry, your answer is not correct." under the quiz (on the same blade), who appears the error message instead. No problem, it works, I made a script for it, which is attached to each wrong answer (in edit the Question > advanced (responses) > execute advanced measures). But the problem is with the right answer (it shows text animation "Congratulations!" and the hightlight green box). If I specify the event on the right answer, and then send the correct answer, it shows the hightlight, animating text box, but it does not continue to the next slide! It stucks despite settings change the Question > Options > (if correct) Action: go to the next slide). If I add new statement to my script, which is "Go to the next slide" and then click on the right answer, she immediately move to the next page and does not display the box hightlight and animating text. How can I wait until the duration of the animation ends and after that go to the next slide?

Script for action advanced on my correct answer is:
    --> To see the rightHighlightBox
    --> To see the congratulationsText

    2. I need to another option of fail passes, for example - I have 30 questions - 3 correct answers, 3 attempts. User submits the wrong answer, then he has the right, but he chose the wrong first-> 0 points. This is e-learning and I need allow users to correct.

    3. How can I export the value of correctAnswers for my flash? Is this possible?

Thank you very much for the reply!

    Hello

Add a statement "Continues" at the end of your script, otherwise you will need to click on Skip to go to the next slide.

And Quzzing information is accessed directly from Flash using the Quizn variable.

    Thank you

  • several slides do not advance with going to the next slide or continue

OK, so I think it's something simple, but I've been home long enough today I thought I should break down and ask. I have about nine slides with this same problem. My apologies in advance if I'm just having a bad day and missed a post that would have answered my question completely without having me ask

I'm on Captivate 5.5, and the slides are simple - composed of two legends of text, a graphic, a front and a "back" button. The button image and back you can ignore it because they do not really play in this scenario.  The first caption text is visible, the second is hidden. I tried this two ways and or work in a manner:

I have a button coded for success show 2nd legend text, three attempts, the value and the last attempt is made to go to the next slide (I also got it continue - or work). I went also as regards as a tip action (overkill I know) the code to make the text of the legend visible and then advance on the next click, but that does not advance the slide either. I must be missing something simple, but I'm really at a loss as to what it is! Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you all!

    Becky

I think that you may be overloading it.

Why don't you just place the second text on the timeline of the slide caption appear just after the break point of the button?

This way you won't need to worry about or HIDE or any action leading.  The timeline stops at the key, so that the user can read the first legend.  When the user simply clicks on the key the playhead continues to play and they see the second legend appear.  Either you have an another butto to pause the timeline once again to allow them to read at leisure or otherwise allow enough time before the end of the slide is reached.

  • How can I prevent Captivate to advance to the next slide, after the end of the audio and I click on click to show/hide sidebar box?

I currently have a slide that plays audio.  While usage is listening to the narration that I can click on three different click the boxes with advanced actions to open and close text boxes, I want the user to read the value.  When reading narrative ends and I'll click on the boxes to click to read a text box, it moves to the next slide.  I understand that I may have to replace the box with smart buttons click but I don't know how to stop the progression to the next slide.  I already have a next button that is put on pause until the user clicks.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I'm on a tight schedule.

Quickly, I created a sample file, just have a slide with three form buttons that act as the toggles and a next button. The first three buttons break late exactly at the same time and the next button.

Since it's the slide by clicking the audio stops no audio at all (common misunderstanding). I created a shared action, with the purpose to display and the variable (mine are labeled v_one instead of v_visib) as parameters:

StarOne is what you want to show/hide. You can click on infinite time on each key to show/hide this element. He won't interfere not audio, once he started playing he will continue. When the audio is finished, you can still continue to click. Just click on the next button will advance to the next slide. It's my calendar

No need to rewind the playback head in this case at all.

  • Do all click on the required boxes before moving on to the next slide

I created a screen with three areas of click and the next button. The learner will need to click on all three before click boxes he can click next to move to the next slide. If they do not click on all three boxes, that they must get a message saying: they need to view all content before continuing. Does anyone know how to program the next button to require the three click on boxes to be clicked before proceeding?

    Thanks in advance,

    ~ A

Issue has been addressed several times in this forum. You don't need to program the next button, but click areas. I guess they don't have to be clicked in order? In this case:

    1. create three user, for each box click variables: v_one, v_two, v_three and give them a default value 0
    2. hide the next button (in the Properties Panel - since I don't know the version, wrong in detail)
    3. for each button click on create an advanced conditional action with two decisions:
      • First decision is a standard simulated action "always."
IF 1 is equal to 1
Assign the v_one with 1 (change of variable in the actions for the other boxes two click v_two, v_three)
      • Second decision checks the value of these three variables
IF v_one is equal to 1 AND
v_two is equal to 1 AND

    v_three is equal to 1

    See the Bt_Next

Be sure to have the suspension of the next key point later that the point of putting paused click boxes. This means that we need to shorten the timeline of the boxes to click and check the properties of the button sync

  • End - user to use a rolling caption before you can proceed to the next slide

    Hello.

I have a legend of rolling I want that the learner to use before they can move to the next slide.  I don't know if I need to use a tip action or would it be better to use a click box.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Don't apologize, I know that there is no breakthrough book around anywhere. Maybe once I take my courage and start with it. I am using Captivate version 1 on, but really plunged into it with version 4.

Have tried so much to persuade users to replace the old buttons by form buttons, not only on my blog, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, but also at webinars for Adobe. For your case, either you have buttons shape on a slide, and indeed, you are right, in this case, you do not to apply this model of slides to the first/last slide. But you can also time such a button for the rest of the project. Which allows much more control because you will be able to start the Back only on the second slide button, and to hide the next button on the last slide because you have an identifier for keys that is not the case for the buttons on Master slides.

OK, so you have the button next with his ID on this slide, it is possible to hide or - if you want to keep it visible, which I find a bit confusing to users, to 'turn off' on the slide. Deactivation will keep the visible button, but no what will be a click on it either. Hiding or disabling can be done with a simple action (Action accordion) for the event on enter on this slide.

For your popup: create a simple text container (either a legend or... once again a form) and make it invisible by uncheck Visible output in the properties panel, branded this PopupTxt. I turn the text "See list" in an interactive object by putting a box to click on it.  To succeed in this click box, create an advanced action standard which will look like this:

    • See the PopupTxt
    • See the BtNext (where you use the ID of the next button on this slide)

If you have disabled the Next button, not hidden, put another box to click on it. Having a pop up warning, have another WarningTxt text container (use a bubble shape? I'm the Evangelist of forms) with this warning, make it invisible as well start with. To this click box, I think you need the warning that only once, so create another standard action for its event of success:

    • See the WarningTxt
    • Hide the Click box

And the click box on the «view complete list»

    • See the PopupTxt
    • Activate BtNext (where you use the ID of the next button on this slide)

    Hope this helps?

  • Tip jump slide on "go to the next slide" - action 6 Captivate

I have perhaps not such a strong sense of what is obvious! I have set up a tip action:

    acuityvalidation.png

The action is validated from a click box determined by what the user enters the text entry area, any number between 1 and 5. The text entry box is assigned to a variable that is returned to the next slide. On release, however, the action assigned to the click box takes me to, not on the 'next' side - he really jumps the next slide and goes to the one after that it is supposed to go. To force a work around, I tried to assign the conditional action to ' slide ', but when I tried to do, I couldn't be Ahmed down.. to choose the slide. Here's what I got:

    no-scroll.png

So it did not scroll up to let me down to 155 slide. In addition, I really don't want to assign a single tip Action for each slide where function is required.

If I put the conditional action to 'Continue' (instead of 'go to next slide') slide suspends indefinitely and not going anywhere. So, here I am, and I know that one of you has a very keen sense of the obvious. Thanks in advance for any action that you can provide (pun intended).

    Hello

I notice you have two declarations "Go to the next slide" in the first example to separate. That seems to explain the behavior of the project move you TWO slides forward instead of one.

Cannot explain why you do not get a scroll bar that allows you to choose. But maybe you can try using the arrow keys to move the selection to the desired slide pointer?

The lack of a scroll bar seems to imply a bug. I suggest you report it as even at Adobe. (link in my sig line)

  • Several boxes click - advance to the next slide, before I want what he

I have 3 boxes click on a slide. Two click boxes open PDFs and the 3rd is a recognition area, which gets clicked after 2 PDF files have been read.

    Screen Shot 2015-03-13 at 2.22.48 PM.png

No matter who click on the box I click first, it automatically advances to the next slide. Boxes of 2 click open pdf file just have the "hand cursor" selected and nothing else (see image). The click of recognition box has the "project to break up what the user clicks on" selected.

Someone at - it other suggestions, I could try? I use 8 Captivate.

Which is triggered by the stopping, click box receipt?

  • Stop the slides automatically advance to the next slide

It seems this would be a common request, but I can't find a solution anywere.
Captivate automatically moves to the next slide when the previous slide ends. I would like to stop and wait for the user to click on the 'Next' button on the control of playback.
I don't want to have to add another button 'Next' to each slide. It would be redundant and time consuming. I just want to use the next button in the playback controls. How can I get each slide to stop and take a break?

    Is this possible?

Can I have answered my own question, BUT I would like to know if experts here have a better way to do this...

Solution: Add a new text button to slide 1. Empty the text on this button. Select the option to make the button "transparent". Then copy the button to the Clipboard. Select all of the slides in the project. Hit the dough.

All the slides have now a 'hidden' object that stops them. They can click on the next button in the playback controls to move forward at the end of each slide.

  • Go to the next slide - problem!

    Hello world

First thing: I'm not an expert in Captivate, but I learn every day to use this great software... so please, be patient

    QUESTION:

I am trying to generate a course, very small and simple, but I have a problem: when I click on "Preview", I see that each slide appears after the previous. I need to let the user decide when he wants to move forward!
Example: I have to generate a slide requiring 2 min of reading, but after this time, it is important to stop Auto progression. I chose not to show the progress bar but the problem remains.

All commands in a standard advanced action will be executed in sequence. If you want to display an image, you need to allow time for the user to see the image before the read head moves to the next slide. If you are on 9 Captivate, you can use the command 'delay next actions. " An easy way that can also be used on previous versions:

    • Create the button with just the simple command continue
    • Start the chronology of the image just after the point of suspension of the button
    • Extend the chronology of the image until the end of the slide (CTRL-E)
    • Estimate how much time the chronology of the image must be.
    • When the playhead is released by the click of a button, the image will appear and playhead moves until the end of the slide, and then go to the next slide

  • cfpresentation - manually switch to the next slide

    Hi All-

By creating a slide show with the new cfpresentation/cfpresentationsilde tags, I was wondering if there is a way to let the user to manually navigate to the next slide instead of use the "duration ="value"" attribute in the tag cfpresentationslide (which causes the preso just continue to the next slide after the number of seconds). Anyone know?

I think that this added functionality is ideal for the CF and I'm blowing all repositories PowerPoint presos. I even built a report showing data exchange using the tag cfexchange! Awesome!

Thanks in advance for your help-

    Rich

Hell I have to stop being so lazy...

After a quick review on the Livedocs for CF8 (which I love btw) the answer to this problem is to define the attribute of automatic reading of the tag cfpresentation on 'no' (or 'false'), which translates as "the user must click the Play button to start the presentation, and click the next button to move to the next slide in the presentation."

As an added benefit of this feature already-cool-and-be-cooler, this link ( http://www.coldfusiondeveloper.com.au/go/news/by/ray-camden/DE8E6506-C09F-4506-91E4B50AFCB CF9C7 /) talks about how a presentation can be generated, saved to a file, compressed and sent to a user and read WITHOUT CF.

    This opens up many doors...

  • Legends, after the next slide

We have captions on some custom buttons to display the text explaining a topic when the button is selected. The legend set for 3 seconds. If the following custom button is selected before 3 seconds past, the legend follows on the next slide. Y at - it an option to close the text captions when you click on it, given that with the audio?

I almost hate to ask this question. Maybe it's my & quot; duh & quot; time of the day.

    Hi jbradley88,
The legends of success and failure have properties that need to be addressed individually (legend of the slide right-click and select properties).

I utilise.8 seconds for my success of legends and keep the text a word or two (* Good Job! *, or * very good *, or simply * correct *). This time is a lot for the eye/brain to absorb feedback, while not long enough for * delay * in the next slide.

Like the legends of the failure, they can also be long I love, assuming that the slide is not to advance until the action is * correct *, because they are often designed to give many comments before attempting the user, once more, to perform the correct action. FWIW.

There are a few changes in the quizzes. You are on the latest version: 9.0.1.320?

You can try to recreate something from scratch with the same settings, check if it is due to the upgrade?
