  Hello, I was wondering if you could help me.

  I got some virtual machines also in my company to implement for a demonstration we will have soon. We currently have a demo system implemented with vSphere and vCentre 4.0.0 uses. We have been given the files have been imported into the data store vCentre via vSphere interface (see Datastore.bmp)
  I added the virtual machine on my inventory, but when I try to turn it on I get the following error messages (see Error.bmp and bottombar_error.bmp)
  How can I get the vmx file (which I'm trying to power on) to show the vmdk (hard drive) file?
  I looked in the edit settings section and made sure that it points in the right direction and I am all of these ideas.

  Lumetri Panel/workspace in PrPro is designed as a quick Fixer & able to mainly simple elements you may need to. And it has some limitations so built-in types experienced low editor/colorist can't screw up at all times of their videos. If this tool has everything you need, so it is very convenient. You do not need to learn a lot of ranking 'thought process', just look at your scopes & your program monitor.

  If, however, you'll need to tell secondaries 'Key' on some shades at certain levels of brightness/saturation to change just THE color, hue, brightness, saturation data, or a number of other things more important to the image, then SpeedGrade would be necessary. For me, I use the Lumetri Panel on the simple things, but... as Jim pointed out, if I want to hit secondary or make major changes, I'm more the Sg. Because after I learned that the app rather... unique... minimalist... UI, I'm actually able to move quicker on things over there than in the Lumetri Panel.

  SpeedGrade is not the same as applications other colorist/ranking, didn't say the vast-toolset of determination... but link Direct saves a TON to prepare sequences & projects on XML/EDL out and return & tel. If you go to work with her, I suggest strongly to e-book by Alexis Van Hurkman "Adobe SpeedGrade."... Getting started» It is still CS6... BUT... It covers quickly and directly how SpeedGrade works and how to do things you want to do, better than anything else I've seen. The big change is in the CC versions using the Direct link that you don't have any EDL input/output, and as all the scenario changes you make through PrPro, both the chronology controllling/replacement parts of Sg is grayed out in a project of direct link (directly using a project file PrPro). The interface... different color... is almost identical to the versions CS6.

  In addition, there are some good programs on service tutorial lynda-dot-com, and some that are quite useful on SpeedGrade in AdobeTV that will give you the look more recent Sg and Di-link process. Maybe you spend a few hours in watching & playing around, but once you get this thing is pretty easy to use.

  I do not recommend having a ramp... a block of neutral gray tones will generally from left to right black (0) to white (100) that you can put on a timeline, see to the Sg, and then look at what is happening where when you change what... so that you get a feel for say overall "initial" three color wheels/luma sliders , which left elevator control, controls gain way Gamma and right hand do... and you need to see that the elevator is * not * the shadows... and then, when you change moves on the shadows, mediums and highlights and always looking three combos of luma/color controls, now what region they change? What control on how these controls affect the image data pivot controls provide?

  It sounds more complicated than it needs to use, really... you just can't guess what they are doing and being puzzled at the first/frustrated when things do not respond as you expect. A few graphics and several simple explanations & examples... and you'll be off and running.

  When you buy the license first, you pay X amount, which includes the license to base 1 or 3 years Support and subscription (SnS).

  I see in the description of the product Horizon Suite includes 'View of the Horizon', but we know not if it's the 'Horizon view Bundle', which includes vSphere and vCenter, or the "Horizon view add-on", is not.

• Known issues with running ESX, vSphere and vCenter Lab Manager on a Windows Server?

  I teach a class on virtualization in a University of Minnesota.  Students have received a license for VMware Workstation 7 365 days and worked on assignments to practice using the application.

  I have a number of students who would like to play with vSphere and P2V, but I can't get ESXi to work on my laptop because of the material have not integrated the VT technology.

  Is it possible to use P2V with VMware Server 2.0?

  If you use the standalone converter, you can certainly use to a destination server.  You can get detailed information about the supported source and destination types in the user's Guide.

  The vsphere compatibility page 14 OS compatibility tables.  I see that Windows 2000 server sp4 has no compatibility with client vSphere and vCenter server.  This means that if you have 2000 servers in your current VMware environment you must upgrade the operating system or?

  Hello and welcome to the forums.

  Information on p.14 means that Windows 2000 SP4 is not compatible with (in other words, you can not install) the Client vSphere, vCenter Server and VMware vCenter Update Manager.

  Specific versions of Windows 2000 Server can be verified to support in the Compatibility Guides.  As long as you plan to run the Client vSphere, vCenter Server or VMware vCenter Update Manager on Windows 2000 virtual machines, you'll probably be fine.  It depends on which version of Windows 2000, you have, but just check the compatibility guide to be sure.

  We have a query that takes more than 2 minutes. It's a 9.2.0.7 database. We took the request trace/tkprof and identified there so manay 'direct entry path' and 'direct path read' wait for events in the trace file.

  In the light of the foregoing, "p1 = 201" is a the file_id, but we could not find any data file, the temporary file, the control file with this id # 201.
  Can you please let us know what "p1 = 201" here, how to identify the file that is causing the problem.

  Read the file live and direct file writing events are reads and writes of tablespace TEMP. Wait events, folder # is reported as db_files + id of a temporary file. So, 201 means temp #1 file.

  Now, as to your real performance issue.

  Without seeing the SQL and the corresponding implementation plan, it is impossible to be sure. However, the most frequent causes of temporary entries are the operations of sorting and group by operations.

  If you decide to display your plan and SQL execution, please be sure to make it readable by formatting it. Information on how to do this can be found here.

  Adobe media encoder lets you batch encode. For example if you are working on a bunch of projects that can all time several minutes to several hours to encode them set in a queue that the Media Encoder will make all.  Also if you have a big enough computer man you can be coding projects he was working on a new one first.  I use the queue feature a lot since I'm often having to create multiple versions of a project with slight variations. And rather than export, make the changes, export the next, etc. etc., I can just add each variation to the queue and let the process out without waiting to complete. Hope that makes sense.

  He has a bunch of other useful features, but it's the only thing that I really need to.

• Slow on vSphere and Arcserve r15 VDDK

  I'm recently affected by a performance problem with Arcserve R 15.0 on vSphere 4.1 using VDDK. Without modifying our backup environment documented some computer virtual guests have slowed up to 300 MB/min on the safeguarding of our FC SAN.

  Ive assured that they are without previous snapshots and other guests of VMs on the same backup of the data store, as expected. I also checked other guests of virtual machine on the same hosts as the invited backup troubled, as expected and I looked inside the bone from the guest to the fragmentation on disks and everything seems normal.

  I have all the necessary logging enabled in Arcserve and see nothing of really exceptionally. I checked the file VMDatastoreTypes.ini has the SAN setting of 0 for the vm problem.

  Can someone shed light on this question or direct me in the right direction?

  This is Arun. I work with CA Technologies on the CA ARCserve productline.

  The response to a related question that we have VMware, advanced transport mode is used whenever a temporary directory is created for the particular VM mount disk for hotadd and mode of SAN. If for any reason any backup were to fail, this directory does not get deleted and the mode of transport advanced next time is used for the same VM it fails with the error message "not available for the opening... advanced transport systems. ". According to VMware, the backup fails because it is impossible to create a temporary directory, because the directory already exists. The user may need to remove the temporary directory and then try again.

  The TEMP directory created during installation VDDK is "C:\Documents and Settings\Temp\vmware-Director. This path is used to create the directory for the modes of transport advanced automatically, if the user does not specify one in the VixDiskLib_InitEx or the VixMntapi_Init.

  Instead of delete the temporary directory, I would recommend to just simply rename the directory and try again. I would like to know if it works.   I'm new on this and am frustrated at this point because most of the time, the documentation is not exhaustive. After a week that I managed to install my drive of vSphere ESX, create a vm Server 2008 and install vCenter then install and configure Orchestrator. Had a little trouble with SQL "surprise surprise" then comes into conflict with the server web and IIS. Now that things are settled nothing seems obvious or apparent.

  ESX was installed directly on the server with any Microsoft OS, as I learned its more effective this way. I can't find anything on how to make backups and, especially, the converter. It is installed but is not found. Click right on the host and no Assistant import, according to the inventory tab/host anything. So again I have ESX 4.1 installed directly on my server with any MS OS, I connect via vSphere client and a virtual machine called vCenter. On this vm Orchestrator is installed and SQLEXPRESS. I saw all the tutorial there, video making repeat and I installed and configured but don't see not what Im supposed to see HELP!

  Looks like you need to install the converter on your vCenter server.  Just insert or attach the vCenter vCenter VM media you created.  Launch the installation and you should see an option like this:

  

  Once it is installed, you should be able to see it in the plugins section as follows:
