Advice of the Oracle
HelloI want to know if it is possible to avoid using an index in a query.
For example, I've defined 3 column index on a table named 'SUMMARY_VECTOR' with the following names, respectively:
1 SUMMARY_VECTOR_ENTITY_NAME_IDX
2 SUMMARY_VECTOR_IDX_CASE_NAME
3 SUMMARY_VECTOR_VECTOR_ID_IDX
I want to know if I can avoid using one of the three indices in my query by using the advice of the oracle.
If it is possible, please if can u post an example
Thank you
Use no_index hint: / * + NO_INDEX (index_name table_name) * /.

Hello
I'm trying to implement the AIA error handling and reading that AIA provides xpath functions to retrieve the error code messages and corrective action messages. the documentation says that you must use the oracle.apps.aia.core.eh.i18n.EHCorrectiveActionRB listresourcebundle class to do this.
My questions are:
1. this oracle.apps.aia.core.eh.i18n.EHCorrectiveActionRB of the class already exists within the AIA in order to add the new error etc... you just need to change?
2. If the above is true then where can I find this class to add new messages?
3 this Listresource bundle must be implemented in all composite samples of AIA? If yes how can I do this?
3. does anyone have examples that I can use to implement the management of errors?
4. all other general advice on the use of this list of resources group
Thank you for your help in advance.
Kind regards.
Adrian1. this oracle.apps.aia.core.eh.i18n.EHCorrectiveActionRB of the class already exists within the AIA in order to add the new error etc... you just need to change?
Yes, they exist oob with FP. In 10g, it will be under system/classes/bpel file.
2. If the above is true then where can I find this class to add new messages?
In 10g, it will be under system/classes/bpel file. 11 g, it will be under/soa/modules/oracle.soa.ext_11.1.1/classes folder.
3 this Listresource bundle must be implemented in all composite samples of AIA? If yes how can I do this?
No, the bundle is a single resource, and you can add your messages in the same class.
3. does anyone have examples that I can use to implement the management of errors?
Please see available in OTN download AIADemo. All composite materials have the error handling.
4. all other general advice on the use of this list of resources group
11 g class of resource bundles is replaced by a file of text properties. -

Well seen.
Certainly on amazon.co.uk there was a bunch of braindump kindle publications in February. It was a link to a url in one of them and certguard.com said braindump site. In general only unpublished reputable publishers on amazon... now here can be a risk people scan a few pages/PDF of the copyright and area to make a quick profit.
https://blogs.Oracle.com/certification/entry/cheating_part_7_what_can_you_a indicates that you can send an email [email protected] (they will not respond normally, but I know they'll take advice.
You can also get the same email Global FAQ... search "fraud".
(I am a bit careless in reports but only noticed amazon navigation at Easter... and I was distracted and busy... and who says fraud ocp are already probably already aware.)

What do I need install Oracle Database 11 g 2 for the Oracle 10 g database migration?
Hi all
Would you be kind enough to help me with the following question! I currently have Oracle Database 10 g on the old servers to my work and I want to install the GR 11, 2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Oracle database to new servers for upgrade. I also forms, reports and Designer 10 g to maintain our existing applications. So, I already looked in the Certification and found the following:
Latest version of the product: latest version of the database server window weblogic
Form Builder 11.1.2.0.0 11.2.0.4.0 7, 2008 R2, 2008 10.3.6.0.0
Reports 11.1.2.0.0 11.2.0.4.0 7, 2008 R2, 2008 10.3.6.0.0
Designer 10.1.2.6.0 11.2.0.1.0 xp, vista, 7, 2003 (all 32 bit)
For Designer, it is approved for a 32 - bit window, so I'm having trouble with the new requirement of system this window must be after 2003. I want to take all of the availability and follow the Oracle certification (except that I will be given Designer because of compliance) as above. I'm new with Oracle, and I don't know what comes with what to do it is complete.
1. I'm going to install a database server (free 11.2.0.4.0 as described above) in a new server (2008 R2), then what I have to install the WebLogic Server with it?
2. I'll install the generator of reports and Forms Builder (11.1.2.0.0) in another server (2008R2), so what I have to install WebLogic Server as well with her?
3. what else do I need to install on this two server so that they work so that I can begin to migrate all existing data, forms and States more?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Remember that this forum is targeted to the Oracle Forms product, for questions about the database can be better answered in one of the areas of database. That being said, here are my comments:
1 I'll install a database server (version 11.2.0.4.0 as described above) in a new server (2008 R2), then what I have to install the WebLogic Server with it?
A database facility didn't need of WLS (which I am aware). Consider what you want is a typical design at three levels. Database - average level (applications server) - Client (tools and end user). Each level has nothing to do with the other installation point of view assuming that they are not installed on the same computer. WLS is a middleware software (medium level). Be sure to check the product documentation before performing any installation. The 11.2 DB docs can be found here:
http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/index.htm
2. I will install Forms Builder and Report Builder (11.1.2.0.0) in another server (2008R2), so what I have to install WebLogic Server as well with it?
Tools (Forms Builder, generator of reports, etc.) are not remote or web tools. These must be installed on each developer's computer. The installation of these tools does not require that WLS be installed first (on the developer's computer), but there is no need to be run unless the developer wants to apply locally for testing. For a production deployment (multi-user), a similar concept will be used. WLS will be installed first, followed by the forms and reports Services (runtime). It will be on your remote server (medium level). Software distribution you use will be exactly the same for the developer and the installation of intermediate level. The difference will be in the options you choose during installation. If you want to include manufacturers during installation, simply check the appropriate boxes when you are prompted.
Also, if you plan to use the forms/States 11 GR 2, I recommend not using 11.1.2.0 and instead use 11.1.2.2, which is the latest version. F/R 11.1.2.2 installation requires that you first install WLS 10.3.6. You should refer to the product documentation before beginning any installation. Specifically, carefully examine the product Setup Guide and Guide to the system requirements. The 11.1.2.2 doc library can be found here:
3 what else do I need to install on this two server so that they work so that I can begin to migrate all the existing data, forms and States on?
Looks like you've covered everything. The granular details will be covered in the Installation and Guides to the system requirements.
My recommendations:
o ensure that each machine has at least 4gig of RAM
o ensure that each machine has a static IP address before you start any part of the installation. This can be done without a static IP address, but you must take additional steps (see Guide to Sys Req).
o on machines where you plan to install WLS, make sure you have a 64 bit JDK installed first. If you don't use a F/R 11.1.2.2, you must use Java 6. However, if you decide to use 11.1.2.2, you can use Java 6 or 7. Do not use Java 8 in all cases.
When it comes to the designer, it must be installed on an old machine. In General, I do not recommend to use it longer. Although there is currently not a way to full migration out of it, you can use SQL Developer to manage the db objects that were created/used with it. There are several MyOracleSupport documents that discuss the issue. You can search the Knowledge Base of MOS to find or contact Support for more information.

I have an oracle server which is our recovery server disaster. When I switch my application of the primary site to secondary site, we have a window of downtime during which it must implement the secondary site. When setting up the application on the secondary site, I am getting below error please take note that primary and secondary are always synchronized. The application uses the thin driver JDBC to connect to the database.
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
However when I use the same user name and password to connect to the SQLPLUS it connects successfully. When I use the sqldeveloper or any other jdbc connection, it fails with the above error.
Can someone please advice what may be the setting on the oracle server that limits connections jdbc or any setting related to jdbc on the oracle client

For others this has been resolved with
This is the setting in sqlnet.ora
SQLNET. ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION = 12
later, commenting on the above setting and restart the listener. It worked.
Thanks for all the answers

performance issue with the Oracle SQL query
Dears
Good evening
I am new to begin to use Oracle SQL, I have a sql query which takes longer to run in production.
Each table in the query contains 1.2 million records and DBA suggested using the "Oracle - tips. I don't have good knowledge on this subject and the difficulties to implement this advice for imrpovise performance. In the product the jobs Informatica are failed and stuck with this problem of query performance.
I ask this forum for an emergency for me to solve this problem by using "advice". kindly help me.

How to determine the Oracle Max process on Windows Server settings
Currently I have Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 running
Windows 2003 EE R2 SP2 x 32
The issue now is:
How to determine what is the maximum value that I can set the process?
I guess that's the operating system and hardware dependent, but I can't find documentation on this topic.
Any help is appreciated.
Jason Longenecker
Published by: LONGENECKER on May 13, 2013 11:33
Published by: LONGENECKER on May 13, 2013 11:36We shouldn't just work the PROCESS parameter for the maximum number of BONES.
More processes that you have, more will consume PGA the oracle Instance, i.e. more memory will be used on your server.
You should check v$ resource_limit see if it really reached setting TREATY limits, if yes increase the parameter appropriately so that the high tide of use remains about 80% of the value of the parameter. Check if the number of sessions dedicated process is really necessary, otherwise you can consider the use of database resident connection pooling or a shared server or tuning configuration opening less sessions on the database.
Depending on how much you increase, take a look at the view of PGA advice after a workload of the cycle of V$ PGA_TARGET_ADVICE and V$ MEMORY_TARGET_ADVICE.

SSL mutual authentication using the Oracle stored procedure
Hello
DB version:
Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64 bit Production
Is possible to perform mutual authentication SSL uses the Oracle stored procedure?
I read articles and forums saying that it is not a good approach to call the Web service using the Oracle procedure (and I don't know if it's even possible authentication using procs). But I would like to know if it's possible and how.
In other is words there a way to incorporate the client certificate information into a procedure that calls a Web service.
I read the articles to do it in JAVA or .net. But please advice how we can achieve using Oracle procedures.
Thank you.934451 wrote:

To learn more. SSL what for?
Oracle PL/SQL only supports client standard TCP sockets. However, interface for HTTP, Oracle PL/SQL also supports HTTPS - which requires the certificates of authentication of the server to be stored in a portfolio of Oracle web and used during the transmission via HTTPS. See the code example {message identifier: = 1925297} for more details.

Forums and articles written by idiots. For idiots.
And no, I'm not to embellish my response to this pitch that you met. It is false. It is written by ignorant people who don't know ANYTHING about the use of Oracle and PL/SQL. And feel free to forward my response to these idiots. They find me here if they want to argue...
As an example of how to call a web service, see {message identifier: = 10158148} and {message: id = 10448611}.

Hello friends,
I am newbie in oracle stock. I want to know that what are the tables & API used by the oracle inventory.
I need basic steps. Please help meLook at irep.oracle.com for the APIs available (in the discrete manufacturing section)
Look at etrm.oracle.com for all the table structures. However, a word of advice. The document on the sites above are NOT really intended for read-to-cover. You should refer to them as and when you need it for a specific problem / task.
Hope this helps,

Customize the Oracle discoverer login page
Hello
Try to add a password for automatic reset for discoverer page. I would like to know to what extent Oracle allows me to this type of customization. Also any advice on where to start would be great!
Thank you

Published by: 848492 on March 30, 2011 18:50Hi KK
Most things are possible, especially for the Viewer as Viewer using UIX files to control the interface. I don't know exactly the one controlling passwords, but it probably wouldn't be hard to find.Word of warning however: Oracle is not customers of support or sanction change UIX files so all what is done must be saved first in case you have problems.
Take a look * $ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\OC4J_BI_Forms\applications\discoverer\discoverer * where $ORACLE_HOME is the place on your application of discoverer server where discoverer more and observer to have their home.
There are a number of files in there related to passwords, namely: CECEnterPassword.uix, CECPasswordChangeWillExpire.uix, CECPasswordExpired.uix, CECPasswordWillExpire.uix, ChangePassword.uix, EnterPassword.uix, Password.uix, PasswordChangeWillExpire.uix and PasswordWillExpire.uix. The word password also exists in struts - config.xml in * $ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\OC4J_BI_Forms\applications\discoverer\discoverer\WEB-INF *.
There are a few notes on the Oracle Support on changing some settings in the uix files and these are assumptions they are published by Oracle, but one should always be careful.
I hope this helps
Best wishes

I see that Javascript is enabled. Is javascript and java, the same thing?
To avoid confusion:
Note that you need the Web-IcedTea Plugin installed and it is a different implementation of Java as the Oracle's Java plugin (formerly Sun), while the Oracle does not detect this plugin.

Need some advice on the best way to do specialized source distribution
I need to give a customer a labview block, they can use our material in their own labview code that will read the (encrypted) data net senor off the coast and the flow of data in a form usable output. I built a vi that can be used in a loop, a bit similar to the block of canned labview data acquisition that can be used to acquire data from products OR.
There are many sophisticated (and secret) algorithms going on in the background which make sense data and translate them into a usable data table, but also configure the hardware itself. Accordingly the only final vi I prepared to distribute the client makes use of Subvi about 20. Almost none of these subvis could be ideally be reconverted in plain code in main vi, nor what I want to do this.
The rules of the game is the following: I want to give him the block I created to use its own code, without him to see what's happening inside the vi. I can deny him access to the block diagram/s, no problem, but I don't want to give him access to the subvis, to use, or even to know their names - preference they would be hidden or otherwise pre-compiled. Preferably I would just give him the main block only, perhaps with some support files that would be entirely opaque to him.
Looking for advice on the best way to go. There is an elegant solution to this problem? For example, it would be better to compile the block as a .dll file, and then write a wrapper vi any?
Have you thought of creating a packed library? You can also password protect your code. You can delete the distributed code block diagrams. You can use a combination of the above as well.
