Advice, please: dpi for the images of the poster?

I work on 18 x 24 posters and will do even more large-format pieces for display in the coming weeks. In general, I try to stick with a minimum resolution of 200 dpi (preferably 300 or more) for printed items. But find large enough files image for larger items is a challenge. Are recommended where the guidelines or basic rules I should follow?

You are on the right track, Valerie.  Fractals runs really well on RGB uncompressed .tiffs and ranging from 100ppi at 300 PPI is pretty standard stuff.

  • remote desktop hang at 'Please wait for the system event notification' during logoff

When I disconnect a remote connection, sometimes the GET logoff screen stuck at "Please wait for the system event notification" next time I try to open a session.

There is a particular difficulty for this?  I can connect as long as administrator to another account, I can't kill connection attached somehow to be registered in the next time?

    Hello

I suggest you to take a look at the answer in this thread and check if it helps.

  • Start stuck on "Please wait for the Local Session Manager."

I would say that this problem started a couple of days. Went to start my laptop (Toshiba) and he sat on the "Please wait" message forever.

Had no problems to start in safe mode. Looked up various ways of addressing the problem.

Was able to change the resume date and back a few weeks ago. Still no luck. Happened to read something on a printer Epson being perhaps the problem driver (it was installed a day before the date of restoration chosen). Uninstalled the drivers, computer still does not start.

Tried restarting running. I do not have the CD it came with Vista, but it was an option when you hold F8 during startup (I think?) Couldn't find any problems.

Ran check on memory. No problem either.

Changed settings for a verbose startup and ran a Diagnostic startup - all good for this. Then tried selective startup load system services... This is when the error occurs. When starting, it hangs on "Please wait for the Local Session Manager" and does nothing more.

I looked in the event viewer to see what came that time and a couple mistakes were:

Event ID 6000: winlogon notification subscriber was unavailable to handle a notification event.

Event ID 7026: the next (s) start or start failed to load system
    spldr
    Wanarpv6

It would be very useful for me not having to run my computer in safe mode automatically all the time, although it is useful that I at least have that option. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hello

    1. by chance your computer is connected to a domain environment?

    2. as you mentioned in your article that you tried the selective startup, I want to confirm if you have disabled the services left 3rd after hide Microsoft services?

If you did not disable these services make sure you disable and then check if it works.
See the article below for more information.

Note: When the diagnosis is complete, don't forget to reset your computer to normal startup. Follow step 7 in the above article.

    I hope this helps.

  • Please wait for the customer to political group - stop questions

    Hello

I have problems with the closing of a machine. When the machine is connected to the corporate network, everything works fine. However, if the computer is connected to the VPN (1 hour or more) it is always suspended when it stops. First step in the shutdown process is:

Please wait for the system event Notification service.

This change after 3 minutes exactly. Next step:

Please wait for Group Policy client windows 7

is never exceeded (even after a few hours). Machine never off.

Under newspapers there are always these 4 events when the machine stops in vain:

    1. 6005: the winlogon notification subscriber takes a long time to handle the notification event (Logoff).
    2. 4627: the event COM + a system expired attempt to fire the method of logging on the event {D5978650-5B9F-11D1-8DD2-00AA004ABD5E} class for the Publisher and the Subscriber.  The Subscriber has not responded within 180 seconds. The full name of the subscription is "ISensLogon2". The HRESULT is 80010002
    3. 6006: the winlogon notification subscriber took 180 second (s) to handle the notification event (Logoff).
    4. 6005: the winlogon notification subscriber takes a long time to handle the notification event (Logoff).

Sense has expired after 3 minutes while there is no event 6006 for GPClient and machine is stuck there for centuries (Please wait for the customer to group policy). I noticed in the system logs that before the machine hangs during the shutdown process there are these errors and warnings:

    • 5783: the session configuration for the Windows NT or Windows 2000 Domain Controller \\server for the domain X is not admissible.  The current CPP of Netlogon call on \\machine to \\server was canceled.
    • 1014: name resolution for the name of the server has expired after none of the configured DNS servers answered.
    • 131: NtpClient could not set a domain peer to use as a source of time due to the DNS resolution error on ". NtpClient will try again in 3473457 minutes and double the reattempt interval thereafter. The error was: the requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was found. (0x80072AFC).

There is more than 1014 events for different servers and some 131. 5783 is always alone.

I did a group policy log, because I thought that I will be able to see where the machine stuck. Below you can see the part of the newspaper GPSVC when the machine stops in vain:

I excluded 1 GP machine and left on the VPN for a few hours, several times. He always stopped correctly.

However I tried with the VPN disconnection before turning off the machine, I even turned off WiFi but machine still hanging. If I tried to get GP results it takes ages before stopping the machine and he's stuck in the step "to get the user name. Gpupdate/force will never update policy (it stops at policy update...). I tired with the installation of different patches that has not solved the problem.

I think that there is that DNS issues while the machine is on VPN which led the GP cannot be applied. When the machine tries to close it is always somehow connected. There is no problem with the connection, no GP application script when the user disconnects, not roaming profiles.

Does anyone have the same problems? All machines are Dell with Juniper NC (VPN).

    Thank you

  • Advice from professionals for the amateur of the MNA

Hi everyone I hope you have all had a good Christmas and new year.

So my profession is not software engineering and civil engineering (roads, infrastructure, structures, etc.), but I spent years teaching java in my own time and passed the SCJP return in 2010 (I found it an excellent tool to guide me on what to learn and make me learn things that I might not have otherwise). I find java a very useful tool for the work and studies (including my independent study of the year last for my degree).

Even though I am a self-taught amateur, I am well aware, there is a difference between knowing the fundamentals of Java and know how to establish a solid piece of software, and although I got by ok so far, I would like to take my skills to the next level.

I had in my mind to make the developer Java SE 6 after I went SCJP 6 but of course Oracle bought Sun and brought in training required Oracle as part of the requirements. Although I would be happy to make the training realistic I can't afford or justify the formation of my back but I did not like the noise of the [development Applications with the Java SE 6 platform | http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=609 & p_org_id = 28 & lang = US & get_params = dc:D61860GC10] [, p_preview: N] training, because not only that looks like it covers tips for Developer certification (incase I decided to do), but it would apply the stuff to improve my skills.

I have looked everywhere for similar resources such as books, but have not been able to find anything too convincing. I know that I can not actually real-world experience to learn some of these skills, so my question is did anyone know books or countries that would help someone like me? Give me advice of best practices for the creation of good quality java software?

    Thank you.

We will here my two cents worth:
Roughly speaking, there are desktop development and development based on the web (there are others). I think that the market for web-based development work is much bigger and I would recommend this path rather than office development. If I understand correctly, web development is divided into browser-based applications and mobile device applications. I'm a developer of browser and I will only talk about this.

There are countless frames in use for the development of browser based applications. I suggest stick you with the more commonly used ones and not ones that few have heard of (especially employers). Some technologies you should finally become familiar with is: JSP, JSF, Servlets, JDBC, Hibernate, JPA, Struts, Spring, Ant, Maven, JEE6 stack, XML, Web Services, etc. You can read about what these technologies do before you decide you want to read about in detail.

Some of these technologies are old (JSP and Struts to name but two), but countless programs have been written in them and you'll probably sooner or later (more probably more sooner) find a job where you have to debug and improve their. Since you seem to have web experience and if you consider taking this route, I suggest that you get a book on JSP/Servlets and read online on JDBC. Create a web application that reads data from a database table, it displays and allows the user to update data using MVC design (many web applications rely on filling out the forms). Add validation. Then refactor the project again and again to get it looking for professionals. When you have that down Pat, I suggest you go on JSF. You can optionally enter the spring (I would avoid Struts), but that's a topic for a later date.

I have read many books on different technologies, as the years have not met all that will take you step by step on setting up of a professional web application of complete best practices from scratch with just about all the services, you must generally. I guess that nobody does because each new requirement of web application is rather unique so that the authors prefer not to give an example of design while there are countless services and configurations of services. In addition, their example probably wil become obsolete soon enough.

1 NLJ high cost - rewrite a subquery internal

    2. sort is performed for each join for max function every time so try so use use sort merge hint

3 h alias has been referenced twice for the name of the table.

  • New system advice - "Best bang for the buck."

Hi, I read through almost all the forum posts on versions of system and it helped me shortlist these two systems:

    • Intel i7 5820 k 6 core 15MB Cache 3.3 Ghz
    • ASUS X 99-DELUXE/U3.1
    • Corsair 32 GB DDR4 2400 BUS revenge
    • GIGABYTE GTX 980TI
    • PRICE = $ 2,000

    • 2 x Intel Xeon E5 - 2630V3 8 Core 2.4 Ghz 20 MB of Cache
    • K4000 Quadro graphics card
    • 32 GB DDR4 2133 Bus
    • PRICE = 3 740 USD

These are the only options available for me. I wish I had the 5960 x i7, but it is not available nor is 5930, so in the i7 range, I find myself with the 5820 k.

Dual Xeon system is Z640 HP. So what I have to decide is whether I should go for the increased clock speed, or more than double cores and the size of the increased cache.

If you can buy the 99 System x, you may pass the cpu to broadwell-e when its released in about 6 months. Broadwell-e 10 core i7-6950 x could be faster than the dual xeon.

If for some reason any you'll always get stuck with the k 5820 and money is not an issue of concern, the dual xeon will offer much more power on the 5820 k. it loses some of that air dual cpu power, making it closer to 50% faster than the 5820 k. the k4000 quadro is not good and should be replaced with m4000 gtx 970 or superior, or quadro or superior. the dual xeon can be as little memory for some adobe applications that want more memory by heart.

  • Best laptop and monitor for the post-processing digital image

    Hi all

I'm looking for advice on my best options for a new Dell laptop and the monitor.

Main use will be post processing of digital images using DxO 10 and Photoshop CS5.  Other I will use Word, Excel and internet access (for my WordPress web site and blog, the video/TV streaming and others).

Preliminary research suggests one of the Ultrasharp monitors is probably what I need.  I presume that would be connected via a docking station.  I'm also running backup on an external hard drive.

Most gifted in computer of friends tell me that my new laptop would have better I7 CPU, the more powerful video card stand-alone capable of handling the laptop sufficiently fast RAM, minimum USB3 ports and a HDMI connection.

I live in Australia and, of course, need suggestions for templates available there.  My budget is of roughly$ 2,500, but I could go a little higher if there is a compelling reason to do so.  While I do not have a lot of use of computing I am not very computer technical, where my request for advice.

    concerning

    Donny

    Hi Donny54,

All Ultrasharp monitors works well for you. You will need to make sure that the laptop has a port for an external monitor or a docking station.

You should probably review the XPS laptops.

  • Please help for the love of God-windows photo viewer can't open this photo because you don't have the appropriate permissions to access the location of the file

    Hello

I had some files in my recent windows 7 the name of the color of my files and folders become green but I didn't know what happens later.
After awhile, I changed my windows and I install the same windows 7 86 x just like before.
I can't open these files that retain the names of Greens.
These files are almost JPEG and PSD(Photo shop).
I can't copy, cut. name change. delete, then open them with any computer, such as windows photo viewer software, photo shop, see ACD and other software.
I surfed on the Internet and someone said that there is a software which is $ 26 but there is no guarantee that it works and files could not be opened.
someone said your question to help Microsoft because they are the only one who have the codec for this file.
Perhaps because the user or changed windows shows this error code.
If anyone can help, please solution.
    Thank you very much.

  • Advice please reply to the message 'you have two or more of the same connected printer"

I don't know what to do.  My new printer (Deskjet 3070) is configured to print wireless.  The display on the screen on the printer says that the wireless is connected.  The printer has printed its first two requests, successfully, but now I have a queue, and trying to access the problem, I found a pop-up window.   I don't know what choice to make.  I would be very grateful for advice.

I am asked to choose between:

HP Deskjet B611 3070 series (network)

    and

    HP03805A (HP Deskjet 3070 B611 series)

If anyone knows what is happening here, that I should choose, and what I should have avoided doing in the implementation, I would appreciate your advice.

I found a similar request, some time on this forum, but there was no response.

    Thank you!

    Choose the network version.

You can verify that this is the right printer by clicking devices and printers. The other can be the usb connected version if you use the usb cable to install the software.

The other is uninstall if displayed in the printers and devices dialogue box.

  • Change dpi for the ruler guides

    Hello.

I would use the exact size in points during the layout of my document.

Ruler guide 'px' value displays the pixel in 72 dpi values, but I will print the document in 300 dpi. I would still measure exactly points, y at - there a way to change the pixels of ruler guide at 300 dpi?

    Thanks in advance.

Scaling by itself and is not a problem. Use the balance fields in the control panel to intensify the same 100% increments. But it seems that you think that your art must align with the dot printer, and perhaps for this grid. Can you explain more about the process and end use? I don't know how determine you a point of 0, even if you had the grid pay this fine.

  • question of hierarchy for the post w_position_dh

trying to understand w_position_dh. I'm looking for subordinate employee to Olivier 7.9.6.2 direct analytical hr?

    The issue is less than

Employee X is a Manager and he promoted to the new position and now reports to employee and Y. X has some direct reports(ex:a,b,c). Since a, b, c are reports related to X and X to Y, so we expect a, b, c are indirect reports to Y.
    Y->
    X >
    a, b, c

in the framework of w_position_dh a, b, c are missing for employee Y.

How can I solve the above problem.

    Thank you
    Jay.

Is used is the BASE used? You see employee X and when you find the folder that used the base? Make sure you look at the hierarchy correctly as BASIC is the LOWEST.

In addition, if you are looking to him properly and and there is a problem, there was a problem w POSITION does not change reflected and a PATCH attached.

If this was helpful, please mark as correct or useful.

  • A unique identifier for the post blog items?

When I came across this problem, it surprised me that I could not find any documentation about it. Since we now have a tag to give a point of web application a unique identifier, {tag_itemid}, I was surprised not to find this same feature for a blog post item. When I open my file postlist blog, wouldn't be helpful to have a tag like {tag_blogpostid}? I can see the ID of the blog post in the URL (see below), when I create/edit, I have no way to access!

    blog-url.png

Someone at - there a work around? Am I missing something?

    Thanks, Curtiss

    Hey Curtis,.

There is a tag called exactly {tag_blogpostid} you can use in your postlist blog layout.  It comes as an option with BC in Dreamweaver or in the editor to the Admin, but I see that they use this tag in the comment form on my default postlist layout.  Here's a gist of the presentation of the list of default blog post.  7 and 16 drum lines:

    https://gist.github.com/thetrickster/0febde7316e8f66ff013

It IS a tag.  I wonder if it only allows once however if this tag does not work for you.  Try it.
