AE 10.0.2.4, Win7, GUI rough, poor reading in real time

QuickSpecs:

2 x 6 core 2.4 GHz Xeon

24 GB RAM

10 k RPM Raptor main drive

Disc SSD Swap / Scratch

2 TB of storage

Radeon 6950, drivers latest

Win7 Ultimate 64

AE 10.0.2.4

Problems: The GUI is choppy, reading in real time is about 19FPS.

Processes use about 3% CPU, 15% RAM, not anywhere near the bandwidth available for hard disks, etc.

Suggestions?

(Also, the search function seems to be broken on this site, so no, I'm not looking.)

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey people, would like to report that we now have the real-time playback with the play of the space bar.

I'm glad to hear you have AE to work a bit faster for you, but I have to tell you: one day this overview of the space bar will get bogged down, and if your people make a habit of using it instead of a good overview of RAM (zero on the numeric keypad), they will complain.

Simply AE is NOT designed to read anything in real time.  He was never to play stuff in real time; That's what editing systems are for.

Soon, someone will animate a half dozen or several layers of HD video using motion blur in a 3D, with 3 or 4 lamps model, and all layers are configured to accept lights and shadows.  They will hit the space bar and when AE reads an image, a second or two, they'll come after YOU, demanding to know what gives.

It is really wise to get the habit of using RAM previews.  Extremely wise.  It is just as wise to forget the habit of hitting the space bar.

On a different note, you might want to reconsider your processor and memory allocations.  Or at least tell your AE users that they may have to adjust depending on the circumstances.  Your current configuration might be dandy for a single layer without applied effects, but it is not the most beautiful thing in the world, if you have several layers of 8000 x 6000 in a model with animated each layer effects.

  • PC (Win7 64 bit) freezes completely after some time due to the CVI 9.0.1 32-bit application: question in cvirte.dll

I have a strange problem with my app CVI. After a while, no constant time (especially on a day or two), the PC freezes completely when running my application. Examine the system event logs, I see a lot of entries from the CVI, sometimes 8fois per second!

Above all, it looks like the following:

The description for event ID 0 in source CVI could not be found. Either the component that triggers this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event is on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information has been included in the event:

[14:18:42.389] [GetLWMessage] [FATAL] [.. \jsource\jn_msgs.c:672 assertion failure]: WRONG (error in the message handler: code #12689 unknown message received)

Although the system event log is set to a size of 20 MB only and the fact that it is automatically overwrite (FIFO) itself, the PC won't be able to do in the face of this large amount of entries in line waiting.

I searched the internet but found absolutely no clue. I searched then through my code using find in files and finally only found the following within the cvirte.dll sequence when you use "*." "*" as file extension filter:

.. \jsource\jn_msgs.c ConvertMsgText error in the message Manager: unknown message code #% ld received GetLWMessage

Why exactly what the system event log tells me. I wonder that there are some things Java in a related CVI runtime dll

Know someone, any idea how I can fix this problem?

I tried to run my application using WinXP SP3 compatibility mode, but this did not help.

I'll try to refine the question. I will also try to recompile my application using CVI2015

The application does not generally crushed. There are different configurations of my tool where he works a lot of days. So, I have to determine the exact circumstances. Also there is no memory leak, so does not unnecessarily increase consumption of RAM during execution.

    Any help much appreciated

    Thanks and greetings

    Hi Kyle,.

    Thanks for your response!

In the meantime, I managed to solve the problem. Checked the date and version of the DLL runtime on the target PC, I found that they differ runtime DLLS that have been installed with my application using the distribution kit. After the reinstallation of the application, there was more no new error event log entries, so this solves the problem :-)

Only, I wonder where these DLLs from...

    Thanks and greetings

  • Lag Pro first

    Hey there,

I installed the new version of Premiere Pro to cut a video and sync some sounds on it.

I've heard that it is not possible...

But its totally useless, as the video preview so super lag, who does hard no way I could work with her.

After that the effects can "pre-hidden" (the green bar that fills up), so he hangs out. First isn't this feature?

Video files are wmv or avi with small sizes (100 to 200 MB). The sound files are very small, too.

There is no other program sucking CPU, RAM or SSD.

    All drivers are up2date.

My system: (which should be more than enough)

    I7 5820 k

    32 GB DDR4

    GTX 970

SSD for the system (win7 64 bit) and files

Anyone know what could be the problem?

    Greetings

Oh, and Premiere and After Effects work a little different for reading. AE always generates a preview of RAM (the green bar), while first is usually read in real time with little problem (but not in your case, unfortunately). The normal workflow is first usually works in real time UNLESS you add a particularly complex or composite effect and then he could pretty well begins to drop managers (again, different from the behavior of After Effects, which would simply slow down if the project was complex). But if you experience loss of images, you can optionally select a clip and press return to build a file of preview/render for this particular item. Yet once, normally you don't have to do often in the first. I have change many videos requiring no rendering files creation. This is why I think that there is something upwards with the media you are using!

  • VISA wave GUI crashes after a while

    Hey everybody,

    SUMMARY:

I'm working on a project through my University that has the reading data from a disk USB eZ430.  The eZ430 is connected to a (a Board using a MSP430) wireless receiver that receives data from a remote sensing node (also a Board MSP430) based.

We have developed a .vi displaying our data on two charts of waveform - one for data of temperature and moisture collects data we are from the remote sensing node.

The GUI works fine for a random time then it will interfere.  This hook may occur a few minutes or even a few seconds of operation the .vi

Sometimes the hangup returns an error and sometimes LabVIEW goes into (no response).  I'm currently trying to reproduce the error popup so I can provide the error code - I'll add to this post as soon as it arrives.

    DETAILS:

Our transmitter sends our data in a package that contains a numeric value and a header - either A or B.  A process our temperature value while B is the header of our value of moisture.  The string is then terminated by '\r\n '.  The range of numeric values between 0 and 4 096.  A series of packets in hyperterminal would be as follows:

    A1034

    B901

    A1040

    B895

    ...

    We assume that the number of bytes is 7 - (A one) + (an each number) x (4 issues) + (1 per \n) + (1 per \r)

The .vi tries to pull the A or B of the string using a string splitting function and inputs then the letter A or B in a housing structure.  This case structure decides what inputs are based on the input byte A or B that is extracted from the string.  The numeric value that is passed into the structure of the case came out to our table of waveform accordingly in case whatever is determined.

It was also necessary to include a third case, case C to be committed of a broken by default to prevent any reads null of being mixed with our actual data.

    WHAT WE TRIED:

So far, we have tried several things:

We have included/enabled to check the stop ('\n' = 0x0A) character in the block of visa Installer.  We also tried assigning this character ('\r' = 0x0D).  With no luck, we tried the other obvious option to let the disabled stop character...  In each case, we re programmed our show node to have ONLY the tank of respective termination (or none) and adjusted our number of bytes.

I understand that our case may be situational and difficult to debug without our actual transmission and reception of the nodes, but I was wondering if there may be something obvious jump in the eyes more qualified.

    All advice is appreciated!

    Hmm... .

Why are you closing your reference CITATION after every read?

You have to keep it open until you are finished with it and then close it.

In addition, you have controls and indicators which do not have labels.  This could cause trouble LabVIEW but I'm not sure.

Your loop runs also without waiting if you have problems using CPU.  Read VISA can provide a delay time for you well.

  • Old GUI of Windows games do not run

I just got a new laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed to replace a 6 year with Windows XP machine.  I transferred a lot of what I call "wingames" from my old machine to my new.  (See list below).  These "wingames" are small (200 KB or less) GUI games I had for a time very very long - since Windows 3.1.  So far, they have worked in all versions of windows.  (I skipped Vista and went straight from XP to 7).

I get the error message is: "the version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are using.  Check your computer's system information to see if you need a x 86 (32 bit) or x 64 (64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher. »

These games were written by small businesses for programming (sometimes a single programmer in his spare time), 20 years ago.  This being old, companies are no longer in existence, nor that they would support a 64-bit environment.

I tried to put in compatibility mode for Windows XP and 95 without success.  The error message above is displayed in compatibility mode as well.  I can't install in compatibility mode because there is no facility to perform.  These games came full size on disk 3 1/2 "back in the day.  Are there patches of other known for this problem?

    Thank you.

  • freeze the GUI on purpose

    Hello

I would like the GUI to freeze during the execution time (about 20 years). I think to find how long I need to process data, wait this amount of time and then displays the data.

I am new to Labview so any advice will be really appreciated. I had to do with a stacked sequence?

I used the 'busy Set' and the 'busy Unset"live under the cursor palette to inform the user when my program is busy.  The busy 'Set' has an option to turn off the click if you do not want someone to click on controls.  Windows has trained with the hourglass icon, so that users know that the program is busy when the cursor changes.

  • Update XP, Vista and win7 PC with disk ssd

    Hello

I have 3 computers with XP, Vista and Win7.

I wonder if computers laptops XP and Vista (sata) will be able to get the most out of the SSD HDD?
The sine qua non of not losing a lot of performance, is that the bios ahci mode available for hard disk?
    Is there something else?
Some older computers, laptops and desktops may not use a SSD HDD?

I have an external SATA enclosure for a disk hard 2.5 "regular who was not particularly to adapt to an SSD HDD. It fit? I'm wanting to copy the contents of all of the hard drive to the hard drives(xp,vista,win7) on the new discs, including the hidden partition which has the OS on it with something like Norton ghost or acronis true image software. Are there suggestions which we use, and which cable (what is a sata to usb cable?) do I need for the migration if I use a laptop computer to copy these disks?

Does anyone have any suggestions of what SSD to use? I'm looking for a 120gig SATA 3 with faster speeds.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

3 SSD have more fast read and write times when they are installed in PCs that use the latest SATA 3 interface. You may be able to search online by using your favorite search engine to know the different manufacturers.

SATA cables would be also faster to transfer the data.
