  1.I have an interactive PDF created in Acrobat 9 Pro.

  If you have disabled JavaScript or automatic calculations in Reader preferences, you will get this type of behavior.   Try this: launch REGEDIT, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER and make sure that EnableAeroPeek is set to 1, rather than 0.
