  Your old computer had a "Retail" or "OEM" of Windows installed version?

  OEM versions are related to the 1st motherboard they are installed and can not be activated on another motherboard. The only exception is the 'mother' is exactly the same make / model / part number as the original motherboard.

  Commercial versions can be moved from one computer to another without problem except that the the phone activation may be required.

  4 follow the instructions for the activation of the telephone (toll-free).

  NOTE: When you call this number, you will first hear an automated voice. If the automated voice gives you an option to speak to a representative of Activation Live, select this option. If this is not the case, do not enter all the numbers. This should force the voice automated transfer you to an Activation Rep. Live trying to activate through the automated voice will not work, in your case, your activation will be successful only through the Live Activation Rep.

  Go to the manufacturing office support web site and search for Windows Vista drivers for your specific model number. Also look for recent updates, even if your PC comes with Windows Vista preinstalled.

  Then download all the drivers in a folder on your hard drive and install all of them, starting with the card mother/chipset, SATA, LAN, Audio, drivers, and so on.

  For the problems of graphics card check download site of the manufacture of the graphics card for the latest Windows Vista drivers for your card.

In other words, I have to re validate windows after installation. Of course, I have to do a custom or fees installed, so that all the old files have disappeared.

  Today, I bought a new pc with Vista professional all installed, opening an application to view some work on PowerPoint, asked me the product key. The product key for Vista is on the bottom of the laptop so I jumped this! It is saying that it is incorrect?

  Can anyone help?

  As the product is installed on the laptop (nine) I have no case etc... so why the sticker of authenticity is at the bottom of the pc. Trying to open the file in PowerPoint in the free trial version (as has been applied to no product key) the file opened, but showed a blank presentation.

  Is there someone who knows something about this and could help?

  As said above the laptop was not delivered with Microsoft Office and you will not be able to use the power point if you don't have a key!
  The Toshiba does not provide all the keys for MS Office, but only for the MS works.

  If you want to use MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, excel, etc.) then you will have to buy an original CD!
