After that uninstall of Firefox "No. Squint" zoom is not registered

I uninstalled "No. Squint" when I found that it doesn't work as I wanted.
Now Firefox (v.21) remembered more zoom levels of the pages I visit after that FF is closed and reopened.

"No. Squint" uninstall asked if I wanted to restore the functionality of zoom FF - to which I replied YES.

After uninstalling, I tried Windows RESTORE to return the system to say before "No. Squint" installed, this did not help.

Tools > Options > privacy > clear history of Firefox closing > settings > Preferences on the Site is NOT defined, so if I understand correctly, level of Zoom of the Site should be maintained. I tried the setting and not disarm or none this effect.

Safe mode made no difference.

In the end I got so fed up that I restored all Mozilla Firefox directories from a backup from 2 days old disk image (before No. Squint was installed). Features of Firefox returned ZOOM, ZOOM level for specific sites now preserved.
This in spite of all THE tools > Options being exactly the same.

The question - did the No. SQUINT add-on which seems irreversible, even when it is removed?

Problem solved for now. I'll be more careful before installing add-ons in the future.
Thanks for your help Cor - el.

  • After that I updated firefox to 23.0 lastnight that he put a folder called Mozilla Firefox.bak in my program (x 86) files, why is this?

    delete

    Hello

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

Please report back to see if this helped you!

    Thank you.

  • After that update to Firefox 8, the secure gold lock that appears in the corner, when signing to websites is gone

Hi, I would like to know that when I sign in the Bank or other sites requiring a password that the site is secure. Firefox used to have a small lock gold down in the corner of the right hand to let you know that you signed in a secure site. After the upgrade to Firefox 8, that the lock is gone. How do you know if the page you log on is secure?

The status bar is gone and the 'blocking' with her, from Firefox 4.0. Safety information on a web page are shown by the Site identity button.

The former lock could give users a false sense that a site is safe to not to provide information to the site and showed that there is a secure connection that does not guarantee that you are connected to the right server. The Site identity button is introduced in Firefox 3.0 to show more complete information of 'identity' for HTTPS web pages.

Check that you are not Firefox running as administrator.

Right click on the desktop Firefox shortcut and choose "Properties".

In the Compatibility tab, make sure that this level of privilege: "Run this program as an administrator" is not selected.

You should also check the firefox.exe program properties in the Firefox program directory.

Prior to the update to names of users and passwords saved 3.6.13 worked as it should (these fields are automatically filled). Now after installing 2.6.13 over the connection information recorded will be fill not entering into the web site. I can go into tools, options, security, passwords registered and all are still listed, but do not work. I have deleted a few thought Firefox would then ask to save the login data for the same site, but it's not. I tried to go back to my previous version of 3.5.16 passwords saved bur no longer works it is.

It seems as if Firefox does not see the saved info.

I updated Firefox to 33.1 as a conscientious Firefox user. Since then, I couldn't use Firefox successfully. It attempts to open a page and immediately blocked. Cannot access any Mozilla support via Firefox. I uninstalled Firefox and Firefox redownloaded several times to try to resolve the problem. I always send the crash report, but it seems to do nothing to solve the problem.

Update: I indeed found firewall was the issue (the first time with updates of Firefox). I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but that no longer works.
Then I opened the application window of Norton Security (looking for information of firewall). I don't actually change or click on what to Norton. I decided to try to install again. This time, when I hit "Run" instead of "Save", the small window Norton popped up saying downloading is safe. Then he installed and opens very well.

It may be a quirk of Norton? Or by choosing run rather than save (and running after registration)?

  • Firefox 39.0 zoom does not in the preview Windows 10 Pro

When I Zoom in on a web page to get to a readable size comfortably, the zoom is as long as Firefox is running. But if I closed Firefox and then restart it, the zoom has been reset to the default state. He holds the zoom to the point settings Windows 8.1. Don't know if it's a Windows 10 vulnerability or a situation that Firefox will need to take care when the final version of Windows new starts installing the 29.

Thank you FredMcD and cor-el for your answers. But the problem seems to have resolved itself. The available settings are now, but I did nothing to cause trouble that I know. Microsoft is pushing updates at the premiere of Win10, then maybe one of those who did it. All the settings of Firefox 39.0 were and are exactly the same as on a couple of my 8.1 boxes which are always held for expansion without problem.
