  Looks like you may have a virus or other malware. Get your updated antivirus program and boot into Safe Mode.   Windows Media Center has stopped working after installation of my Windows 7 Professional pc all 11 updates gave me on August 11, 2010. I used system restore to the day before the updates, and install them individually. The first 9 no trouble with WMC. But the IE8 KB982664 for Windows 7 compatibility view list caused my action center to report that I needed to check the undeclared solutions to problems. WMC would still start. But after installing KB983590 .NET framework 3.5.1 for Windows 7 x 86, WMC has stopped working.
