You can turn it off, through the system setup program. The "Start up" program, to be more precise. Look to the bottom of the list, until you find the Distribution Service of software.

It will be CHECKED, then UNCHECK just she.

You may be prompted to RESTART, then do it.

Everything should be... normal .to.

    Follow these steps:

    1. click on the Start button

    2. click on accessories

    3. click on system tools

    4. click on system restore

  • With Vista, if we always restarts the computer after the installation of software or updated even if the update doesn't ask a reboot?

    Example-

I had removed java my system before installation 6 update 23
Saturday morning, I went through the java 6 Update 23 installation process. The download and the installation went well and verified by the java program itself, you know where it is said "you have correctly installed java 6 Update 23.

so I left the House WITHOUT having to restart my computer (my machine was left on and connected to the internet)
But when I came back about 10 hours later, I just did a simple reboot.

While there should be no problem that I waited 10 hours before restarting (and my machine was and connected to the internet)?

You are good enough and if Windows or a third party, updates or installs, do not ask to restart your computer, then you do not have too.

When your policy could leave you down is where you yourself (not what I mentioned above) make changes to the registry, in which case it is often necessary to logoff or reboot before these changes take effect.

It would also be a bad practice to fall into the trap of never to restart your machine.  So do it regularly.

  • Error message wlanapi.dll everytime I restart the computer after the installation of Windows XP Service Pack 3

I see two possible causes for your problem: (a) failing to remove the reinstalled (that is, during the clean install of Windows XP) Norton free trial before installing Norton Security Suite or (b) give hijackware infection, probably aggravated by W32/Alureon-variant rootkit infection.

I would like to begin with the first possibility, but first, I need to know if Norton Security Suite is a gift from your ISP or if you have purchased a subscription?

Yes, my Norton Security Suite is provided as a gift provided by my ISP

Do not deviate from your concerns of an infection of dishes high jack or what you're also indicated is being compounded by W32/Alureon-variant rootkit infection.  But I'm quite confused on how you came into this thought process of bringing up for discussion the fact that my system may be infected, which is certainly possible.

But, according to the Microsoft Article ID: 950720 it shows the following information as shown below.

Windows XP SP3 introduces a new .dll file that is named Wlanapi.dll. This file is installed in the folder % WINDIR%\System32. Some installations of device driver for some third-party wireless network adapters also install a Wlanapi.dll file in the folder % WINDIR%\System32. If a third-party network adapter file is installed in this folder before installing Windows XP SP3, the Wlanapi.dll file that is associated with the network adapter is replaced by the Windows XP SP3 installation file.

Yes, according to my reading of the information, I especially it says Windows XP SP3 has replaced the the origin of the initial installation of the software Blitzz Wlanapi.dll file.

So, I was wondering what you had attracted the concern there is some sort of infection going on in my system?

Since I installed the previous OS Windows XP Pro SP2.  I've been extremely diligent to scan my computer for viruses, malware, spyware, etc.  with other programs of detection.

Then, please shed some light on your thoughts of an ongoing infection rather than him being a former driver not compatible which is originally this startup error message pop up.

Please don't take what I'm saying, is to challenge your knowledge and integrity of what you said.  I'm open to learning and who want to understand how you came to that conclusion only perhaps ongoing infection.

In any case.  If I'm infected, I am pleased to recognize this, and I hope I can rid the infection if there is in fact a past in my computer and get rid of the pop-up error message.

At least I can still able to connect, which is a good thing

Thanks again for responding I appreciate it.

  • Patches of Toshiba Service Station closes after starting after the installation of 3

    Hello

We recently have a "patch day" Toshiba Service station. I think from my memory that the patches are released earlier, but I installed them on April 23, 2010. There are three patches, and so that I can restore from the system recovery, it was:

    -Flashing of BIOS
    -Patch HDD/SSD Alert
    -HDD Recovery patch.

So, not to mention that I had problems to make the flashing patch BIOS to run, finally extracting installation files to another location and run it with administrator rights.

My problem is that after this session of patch, my Toshiba Service Station no longer starts. When I start my system, after recording on it seems to start upward but always farm then again with windows say error report 'stopped working' and that's it. I'm not sure patch who this could be. I also believe that one of these Islands said in the description that it will update station itself? I downloaded Service Station on the Toshiba site but it will not prove at best, does not matter if I uninstall it, before you start the installation with administrator rights or not.

My system is Satellite A500, Windows 7 64 bit.

I hope you can help. Unless I can't access the updates anymore!

Note: A few days before I installed a graphic driver for my Nvidia GT 230 m SINCE THE SITE WEB of NVIDIA. Why am I? I've lived literally all HOURS a unwanted system reboot and I see in the problem report it was always because of the graphic driver. Subsequently, I installed the two patches from the site of Toshiba, the elders and the most recent, but the problem persisted. Fortunately, a few days I have recheched the Nvidia site and there was a new driver.

Although he said BEFORE (not now anymore) that this graphics card should be based on a driver manufacturer, I installed it but because he Coulnd't ' t get worse. The positive thing is that I didn't have a single far system crash even if I leave the phone turned on for hours.

I'm not sure if the problem with the gas station started right after the installation of the graphics driver, but it can't be because I installed the three patches mentioned above, through gas station, a few days later.

But he seemed to have affected the software after these patches? I'm not sure.

    Hello

Simply said; Toshiba Service Station breaks down and new installation of this tool didn't help.
    Right?

Well, because you are not sure what s wrong and depending on the assignment, you have other problems with the software, I recommend to recover the laptop using the recovery of HARD drive option!
This will outline the laptop to factory settings.

Of course, you must back up the data if you have important files.

Run recovery disc HARD and after that check how the laptop would serve!

XP Professional 5.1.2600 Pack 3. Automatic updates are on. How can I avoid this in the future?

Software distribution service 3.0 is a system restore point, not an update.

When an update is installed a SDS is created.

To check the name of the update, go to the Microsoft Update Web site and check your update history, search for the date, that the error occurred.

Also make sure that your system is clean:

Download, install, update and scan with these full free malware detection programs:

    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

  • Satellite P100-119 - software after the installation of recovery

I use a Toshiba Satellite P100-119 since 2006. I want to run the original liveries Product Recovery CD after you back up all my data, so that with a vacuum system, the laptop gets even faster.

But as there were pre-installed software (office, Toshiba programms) when I bought it, I don't know if they went after the recovery. I do not have CD for these programs, they were just pre-installed and what my Windows xp, should recover fully with the cd?

    Hey Buddy,

After the installation of recovery, you have the same settings that bought the laptop. With other words recovery disk will restore the box settings.

Firstly the recovery disk will wipe the entire HARD drive and remove all. After this Windows will be installed all the drivers and tools. In addition, will be also installed software preinstalled such as office, etc. and you can use it again. :)

Backup all important data like the photo, music, etc. but everything will be removed for a clean install of Windows.

  • I have windows xp after the installation of service pack 3 I can only start in safe mode

I have windows XP after the installation of service pack 3 I can only start in safe mode?

    Hello

    ·         You get the error message?

    ·         What happens when you try to start in normal mode?

    Method 1

Windows XP can in every start Safe Mode by default. Even if you select the option Start Windows normally, it always starts in Mode without failure. IOW, you can't get out of safe mode.

This happens if the switch/SafeBoot is added to the Boot.ini file. / SafeBoot parameter forces a boot in safe mode by using the specified parameters. The available parameters are:

    (a) minimal

    (b) network

    (c) safeboot: minimal (alternateshell)

For more information about the boot.ini switches, see visualization and correction of the settings of the boot on x 86 systems

    RESOLUTION

    (a) click Start, run and type MSCONFIG

    (b) click the Boot.ini tab

    (c) If you have a dual-boot system, select the entry that is appropriate under the [operating systems]

    (d) in section downstairs, Startup Options uncheck / hisFEBOOT

    (e) click OK

    (f) restart Windows

The entry/SafeBoot are removed from the Boot.ini file.

    Method 2:

If the above method is not the cause, it seems that Service Pack 3 is not installed correctly.

Step 1: You try to run the system restore from safe mode that will repair return the computer to the point while it was working fine.

    Step 2:

  • Bluetooth doesn't work does not correctly after the installation of Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 (SP2) on Dell laptop

I searched this forum and almost all resources on the net for days now nothing works.  Give the message to a thread more appropriate that I couldn't find one that is truly representative and am a newb at this.

Summary of the problem: Bluetooth connectivity does not work properly after the window Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1 and 2 installation (SP 1 and 2).

    My system:

Laptop Dell Inspiron E1705, 32-bit Winows Vista Home Premium SP2, Dell Wireless Bluetooth 355 Module + EDR 2.0

    * My system was purchased in 2006 with Windows XP, but was not entitled to a free Windows Vista Home Premium Upgrade I did. I installed Windows Service Pack 1 and 2 about a week ago.

Problem: After downloading and installing the Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1 and 2 (SP 1 and 2), my system does not recognize my Bluetooth (a touch of Sprint also) device known as the HTC Vogue.  I stress that I have not had any problems with this device before downloads.  I can't revert to the pre - SP State 1 and 2 because my system restore does not have these points more.

I have read several posts on various sites about people having similar problems with Bluetooth connectivity after the Vista SP 1 and 2 facilities.  The problem is obviously the need for an updated driver.  I went to the site to download driver Dell and the Blueooth only updates available are the following. (Note: these drivers all date from 2006 and 2007).

    http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=RC956904&l=en&s=pub&SystemID=INS_PNT_P4_9400&os=WLH&osl=en&servicetag=&catid=-1&impid=-1&deviceid=12084&libid=5&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&source=-1&releaseid=R159805&formatcnt=1&vercnt=1

I had these installed before the SP 1 and 2 have been installed and they worked very well. After the upgrade, these drivers do not work.  They won't recognise BT devices.  I tried to upgrade the drivers by using update Broadcom suggested below it, but an error of following installation to contact Dell.

    http://www.Broadcom.com/support/Bluetooth/update.php

I contacted Dell via e-mail and on the phone, but they want to charge me $60 for a one time service call just to talk about the problem because my warranty has expired. Provide updated drivers is not a problem of security in my opinion.  Even after explaining the situation, their continuous support to just send me the link to download Driver Dell above with out-of-date drivers.  I guess that's what they are charged to do, they do not have to admit a problem of compatibility.  This obviously the same link they would charge $60 to send.  I explained that I need just a Bluetooth Driver from Dell to at least version 6.3.   Needless to say, I will never buy another Dell product.

On my end, I tried to uninstall my current drivers and then by installing a newer driver to support Gateway (Version 6.2.1.500 for and Acer).  This allows me to install some parts of this update and the update Broadcom. However, it is not a perfect installation and expires after about 90% saying "this update is not for this system" because it is the gateway not Dell to be provided.  Displays the version of the driver on my computer is Version 6.3.5.430 after doing this, but it is not a complete installation and some features are not available.

Does anyone have experience with this issue? I would like to have a link with some bluetooth drivers generic Version 6.3 type which will allow me to use the Broadcom link to upgrade to the last version that works with Vista SP 1 and 2.

    Thank you for your help.
