Again not applied, Transport/Apply Lag grows

Hi all.

Running Oracle on Linux (64-bit) 11.2.0.2

I have a problem with Data Guard and can't see where I went wrong.

PRIMARY = bvlive
STANDBY PHYSICS = bvstby

Replicated bvlive bvstby, put in place the DG broker and all is well. But wait, a minute or two later, I can see that
Transport and the offset to apply start to increase.

Tried to create a table on the primary, he does not get to the waiting.
Checked the RCS on the two databases and they are different.

So, redo is not applied. However, if I have a:
ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG CURRENT;
primary, the wait is updated - only for the late return.

Research in the standby alert log - I see it gets stuck to the:
Media Recovery Waiting for thread 1 sequence 100 (in transit)
but before that, there is this idea:
RFS[2]: No standby redo logfiles available for thread 1
but there is no error message to support.

and also:
SELECT SEQUENCE#,FIRST_TIME, NEXT_TIME, APPLIED FROM V$ARCHIVED_LOG ORDER BY SEQUENCE#;
shows that everything has been applied:
 SEQUENCE# FIRST_TIM NEXT_TIME APPLIED
---------- --------- --------- ---------
        87 13-SEP-12 13-SEP-12 YES
        88 13-SEP-12 13-SEP-12 YES
        89 13-SEP-12 13-SEP-12 YES
        90 13-SEP-12 13-SEP-12 YES
        91 13-SEP-12 13-SEP-12 YES
        92 13-SEP-12 13-SEP-12 YES
        93 13-SEP-12 13-SEP-12 YES
        94 13-SEP-12 13-SEP-12 YES
        95 13-SEP-12 13-SEP-12 YES
        96 13-SEP-12 13-SEP-12 YES
        97 13-SEP-12 13-SEP-12 YES
        98 13-SEP-12 13-SEP-12 YES
        99 13-SEP-12 13-SEP-12 YES
Still the GAL just grows and grows.

The parameters of interest are:

Primary:
< font color = "red" >
* .db_file_name_convert = "bvstby", "bvlive".
* .db_name = "bvlive".
* .db_unique_name = "bvlive".
* .fal_server = "bvlive".
* .log_archive_config = 'dg_config = (bvlive, bvstby)'
* .log_archive_dest_1 = "location = USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST valid_for = (all_logfiles, all_roles) db_unique_name = bvlive'"
* .log_archive_dest_2 = "service = async valid_for = (online_logfiles, primary_role) db_unique_name = bvstby bvstby'"
* .log_archive_dest_state_1 = 'ENABLE '.
* .log_archive_dest_state_2 = 'ENABLE '.
* .log_file_name_convert = "bvstby", "bvlive".
* .standby_file_management = "AUTO".
< / make >

Standby time:
< font color = "blue" >
* .db_file_name_convert = "bvlive", "bvstby".
* .db_name = "bvlive".
* .db_unique_name = "bvstby".
* .fal_client = "bvstby".
* .fal_server = "bvlive".
* .log_archive_config = 'dg_config = (bvlive, bvstby)'
* .log_archive_dest_1 = "location = USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST ',' valid_for = (ALL_LOGFILES, ALL_ROLES) db_unique_name = bvstby'"
* .log_archive_dest_state_1 = 'ENABLE '.
* .log_archive_dest_state_2 = 'ENABLE '.
* .log_archive_dest_state_3 = 'ENABLE '.
* .log_file_name_convert = "bvlive", "bvstby".
* .standby_file_management = "AUTO".
< / make >

I guess this is something very obvious, but I looked and do not see anything that can shed some light on this. The absence of an error in the alerts log message does not help.

If anyone has encountered this before? Comments/ideas gratefully received.

Thank you
Ray

    Hello again;

    One thing you can try if you notice the use ASM and STANDBY_FILE_MANAGEMENT = AUTO on both is to create a tiny new tablespace and then do a log switch. If the new data file is displayed

    you got false information from Oracle. Also if you do not have ASM verify the physical location of the log. You can have transport work and not apply, or both not work or work by the way.

    Newspapers to alert on both sides are an excellent source of information. Side ensures says usually "waiting for journal...» "This compares to that of the last log on the primary side.

  • The archive logs shipped but more old logs do not applied...

    Environment:

    Oracle on Solaris 11.2.0.3 10.5

    The Data Guard environment working fine for 6 months.

    I recently had problems with disk space on the day before and had to copy some files from newspapers of the archives to a mount point different that had been shipped to the waiting, but not yet applied because I had to cancel the paper application process.

    After having cleared the space problem and start log shipping and return application log on (change database recovery managed to sleep...) I have the new logs shipped but my watch is a bunch of log files behind. I can see it in the V$ ARCHIVED_LOG on intelligence, where the last seq # applied is 8083 in my case and the more current seq # is currently more than 8200.

    I have all the archives always connects in 'other' the mount point and can move back the directory the correct archive according to needs.

    Since the next file that the application requires is seq # 8084, I moved this file in the/arch directory awaits the day before 'see' and apply it. No luck.

    By searching in the alert log just before after execution of the 'alter database recover managed standby database disconnect;' I see the following:
    Media Recovery Waiting for thread 1 sequence 8084
    and also:
    Fetching gap sequence in thread 1, gap sequence 8084-8084
    and just below that:
    FAL[client]: Error fetching gap sequence, no FAL server specified
    I thought I read in the docs that the FAL_SERVER and the FAL_CLIENT are no longer needed. (?)

    I also found a CKPT script that lists information about DG Environment. For the primary side to hang on, but the day before one produces this output:

    I do not use a fast recovery area.

    What should I do to get the old logs to check-in begins to apply again?

    The alert log says something about "Adding value to the media", but I don't know why I would need that since I have the log files itself.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Also, I spend a significant amount of time to read through this forum and many articles on the web but couldn't find exactly the solution I was looking for.

    Thank you very much!!

    '' Waiting, sone entries are with dest_id = 2, they are really initially generated from standby ''?

    Big question. I do not know. Checked: oracle note 241374.1 for details on dest_id without success.

    I think it's that dest_id indicates whether the destination is local or remote. If, if it is true that the answer is no.

    This makes sense since the database is read_only mode, why it would generate archive here?

    If you still have all the archive back to 12-15 then there is still hope.

    However, 12-15 is a long time ago. I consider at least rebuild the day before.

    241374.1 is worth a visit because it can provide additional information for the future.

    Hi Rockyakauke25,

    Welcome to Microsoft answers community forum!

    This day stanalone you trying to install?

    Try to install the update in safe mode.

    Try to install the update in safe mode and see if you are able to install. Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

    To start in safe mode, follow the steps below:

    1. remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.

    Click the Start button, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart.

    2   , do one of the following:

    ·         If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.

    ·         If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.

    3. in the display Advanced Startup Options , use the arrow keys to select the option of safe mode you want and press ENTER. For more information about the options, see Advanced startup options (including safe mode).

    4 log your computer with a user account with administrator rights.

    Install the prerequisite updates before applying a new update that is installed sp 1 for a successful installation sp 2.

    See the link for download of SP1 and installation

  • Newspapers are not applied in the first physical availability of time on the same host

    Hello

    I have met many threads associated with this topic, but could not help meet me at good question, raising a fee.
    I'm setting up physical DB ensures for the first time. It is in the same host. Although I worked a little on the day before but did not get a chance to create new. Transport is not executed on primary, because you log_archive dest parameter is not correct.
    Your problem here:

    log_archive_dest_2 string SERVICE=PRIMARY NOAFFIRM ASYNC VALID_FOR=(ONLINE_LOGFILES,PRIMARY_ROLE) DB_UNIQUE_NAME=STANDBY

    You must change it to:

    alter system set log_archive_dest_2 ='SERVICE=STANDBY NOAFFIRM ASYNC VALID_FOR=(ONLINE_LOGFILES,PRIMARY_ROLE) DB_UNIQUE_NAME=STANDBY';
    alter system set log_archive_dest_state_2=ENABLE;
    alter system  switch logfile;

    Change the setting and paste here the results, please.

     select process from v$managed_standby where process like 'LNS%'; -- on primary
     select max(Sequence#) from v$archived_log; -- on both side

    Therefore, my question is how can I get out of this and get my logs to apply pending?

    Hello again;

    Do you think if I tried to repeat the duplicate?

    Yes I think you should do this.

    Give me a few minutes and I'll review my Word document and provide here an overview step by step as insurance.

    I always clean the day before before trying another dup

    OVERVIEW

    Step 1 - password file FRO sleep - the primary copy and rename
    Step 2 - On the remote server Directory Structure - Make sure noting is missing
    Step 3 - Oracle Net Setup - entered for the CLONE in your TNSNAMES file. ORA on both servers
    Step 4 - Adding SID_LIST_LISTENER (guess named listener LISTENER)
    Step 5 - located in listener.ora and sqlnet.ora both servers wait times
    Step 6 - settings of the auxiliary Instance initialization file
    Step 7 - Set SID of the auxiliary Instance
    Step 8 - create a SPFILE to the new database using a file with the INIT parameters pfile
    Step 9 - shutdown and startup nomount on new Spfile (auxiliary Instance)
    Step 10 - Start RMAN and run the command DUPLICATE

    SID_LIST_LISTENER example of mine

    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
       (SID_LIST =
           (SID_DESC =
           (SID_NAME = PLSExtProc)
           (ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.2)
           (PROGRAM = extproc)
         )
           (SID_DESC =
           (global_dbname = CLONE.hostname)
           (ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.2)
           (sid_name = CLONE)
       )
    )

    Avoid delays

    Add these to both servers

    To listener.ora
    INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT_ = 120

    To sqlnet.ora
    SQLNET.INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT = 120

    Then stop and start the listener.

    RMAN

    $ORACLE_HOME/bin/rman target=sys/@primary auxiliary=sys/@standby

    Connect should return something like this

    connected to target database: RECOVER9 (DBID=3806912436)
    connected to auxiliary database: CLONE (not mounted)

    RMAN > current database of target duplicate for the eve of the database NOFILENAMECHECK.

    INIT Extras

    In order to avoid the ORA-09925 do of course the PFILE core_dump_dest value and audit_file_dest a file

    Please refer to my answer above... You can refresh your physical database by using incremental backups RMAN standby dataguard.

  • First HP settings not applying is not the CASE

    I just got the first HP, and I live where the default decimal mark is the decimal and thousands separator is the point.
    Having the ability to change the decimal mark on the parameters is great, the only problem is that it does not apply to the CASE method, which makes it very confusing.

    I do something wrong, is it meant to be like that or is this a bug?

    T.I.A., Gabriel

    Hello

    No, you're doing nothing wrong.

    The CASE used by HP does not support the selection of decimal point.

    As indicated in the question I have a problem with ' Shockwave Flash 10.1 r82. I use the Version of Firefox 3.6.10 on a 64-bit Win7. I tried to install the application for months and without success. Chrome works fine with the same application on the same computer. • Satellite 3000 - X 11: Bios 1.60 does not apply to this machine

    I've seen this question asked a couple of times and it does not seem to have received a response.
    I have a laptop, satellite
    Name of the model: S3000 - X 11
    Model No.PS301E - 001VY-FR
    Current BIOS 1.00 (I think that... Let me watch!... it is said: Phoenix Bios 4.0 release 6.0 and below: ATW03 BIOS VERSION V1.00)

    I can download the bios driver from the download section of the BIOS and install it in the floppy disk OK
    (He tells me that this update's Satellite 3000 - PS301 only)

    When I boot the PC with the floppy in there, a little chuggs (i.e. reads the floppy!) then he said to me:

    BIOS UPDATE FAILED!
    THIS BIOS UPGRADE ONLY TO NOT APPLY TO THIS MACHINE. Contact the good BIOS upgrade disk.
    Please remove the disk and press any key to restart.

    Someone actually managed to upgrade an S3000 - X 11 with 1.60 worm?

    The indices of anyone!

    KeV

    Hello

    I checked the BIOS file on the page of the Toshiba driver and the text in the more information section, said:

    Windows-based update Bios. You must download this file, if you want to update your BIOS from Windows.
    If you want to do the update of the traditional Bios, you must download the update of the traditional BIOS.

    Apparently, these BIOS must be installed Windows!

    But a question: why do you want to update the BIOS? If the laptop works well, the update of the BIOS is unnecessary.

  • GPO does not apply to servers in SERVER OU

    The first stop below is my OU structure...

    Domain.com

    COMPUTERS IN THE DOMAIN

    SERVERS

    WORKSTATIONS

    DOMAIN USERS

    SERVICE ACCOUNTS

    USERS

    Question:

    I have a couple user GPOS applied to the USERS OU. One is a GPP drive mapping, the other two are old school GPO which add URL to Favorites IE user. When a user connects to a working/PC post (that is in the OU workstations) that they apply very well. But if a user to connect to a server (in the SERVERS OU), they do not apply. A "gpresult" isn't even list. It's as if they are not related.

    Solution until now:

    The only way I found to get the user THAT GPO/GPP is to apply and appear in a gpresult is to apply the unit to ORGANIZATION SERT.

    It is beyond my comprehension.  Why the GPOs would follow with the user?  Why apply to workstations but not servers if not applied to the SERVERS OU?  I did all the weird parameters or active loopback so I don't see what that would be in conflict.  Any help with this would be awesome!
