I bought age of empires 3 through steam and realized a few minutes to download it wasn't for PC Mac.  Is it possible for me to get a refund, even if I bought it through steam?

  • Age of Empires 3 error 0003: could not compile the file 'aiLoaderStandard.xs '.

    People,

I bought the version of digital download of age of Empire 3 full of steam for installation on my laptop Windows 7 Home Premium. Already, I have the CD versions of all games on my desk, but was also able to install it on my desktop in my Steam account.

In trying to play the AOE3 game on my laptop, I get the following error:

    00:00:00 (0) xs: error 0003 could not compile the file 'aiLoaderStandard.xs '.

The net effect of this error is that when I run the game, the AI does nothing. He can place a hometown and a Explorer and/or civil, but they do nothing. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the game several times. I also applied all the patches I could find, to include the last being.

In addition, when you try to play the TAD version, I do not get the aiLoaderStandard.xs error, but it fails to load the map and never even begins.

    Help, please!

Hello.I have age of empires 3. When I go to play it says: MSXML4.dll is not installed correctly. I use windows 7 64-bit. I went into C:/windows/system32, and I discovered that I didn't have the msxml4.dll at all. What can I do?

I downloaded the files and 'installed' em manually through the command prompt.thanks anyway. Prob fixed.

  • I can't get Age of Empires III to install on my Vista Ultimate 64 system!

I tried to install several times without success.  I don't even get an error message!  The installation box runs through the routine of preparation and then closes without any report either.

I did some research and found quite a long thread on this forum since 2009 by a person called Summerbreeze who seemed to have a similar problem.  After several posts back the thread died suddenly without any apparent resolution.  Apparently, it is possible to get this game to work on Vista because I keep seeing questions and reports on various hardware issues with Vista users.

I am running Vista Ultimate 64, SP2, on a workstation Intel S5000VXNSATA that has two processors dual core Xeon 5130 and 4 GB of RAM.  My video configuration is a dual monitor connected to a graphics NVIDIA Quadro FX 3450/4000 SDI card that carries the 256 MB of RAM on board.  I have 2 hard drives of 160 GB configured in RAID 0, but I have only about 50 free BM for the moment.  I am currently compressing readers in an attempt to free up space.

Any of my equipment from the list of incompatibility and I certainly sufficient power to run this thing, then why the problems?

    Thank you

  • How can I install Age of Empires 3 (for XP) on my laptop using Windows 7?

I was SO excited to finally get a laptop (Asus K series) game with a quality graphics card, a serious upgrade from my old Dell Inspiron. I was disappointed, however, after discovering the lack of compatibility and therefore the obstacle to play, with Age of Empires 3 fantastic games.  I would really like to play the game as it was meant to be played, but I have no idea how to install it.

Is there a compatibility program I can run, or a shortcut through it all?

    Thank you!

    ~ archaeknight

I found this on the forums of AoE, it seems reasonable:

When you install the game on Windows 7 won't allow the CD autoplay but rather explore and click on setup.exe, and select 'run as administrator '. After that the game installs explore the directory of Age of Empires and find the application, create a shortcut for it and in the properties of the shortcut, check both boxes "Run as Administrator" and set the compatibility "Windows XP, Service Pack 3.

  • Installation of Age of Empires (gold) on a Vista Home premium OS.

I have Age of Empires Gold Edition I bought quite earlier.

After having moved the House and updated my pc I tried to install it on my new laptop. It is running Vista Home premium. The program works through installation installed 100% and then stops. Close the window by using 'X' and then when you start it tells me to insert the correct disk (because it deleted the files installed during the closure of the facility). Gold is not compatible with vista?

    Thank you

I think it should work.  Try, right click on the installer and choose "Run as Administrator" and see if it works for you.

  • Unable to find the age of empires 2 game on LAN wireless

    Problem:

Me and my dad likes to play Age of Empires 2 and its expansion, conquerors. We have not been able to play for because of our recent upgrade directly from Windows 7. We have spent months looking for a solution, with many people offering solutions through several forums, that did not work. We have therefore resumed old but functional XP, a portable machines and office machine. They can ping each other, remain on the same router, both machines have IPX installed network protocol, have the same IP range (ex. portable 10.0.0.2 and office is 192.168.1.1<-- it="" is="" not="" like="" this,="" but="" both="" are="" 192.168.50.xxx),="" and="" run="" the="" same="" age="" of="" empires="" 2:="" age="" of="" kings="" patch="" (2.0a).="" there="" are="" no="" no-cd="" cracks="" installed,="" there="" are="" no="" other="" patches="" installed,="" and="" there="" are="" no="" networking="" programs="" (such="" as="" hamachi="" or="" tunngle)="" installed. ="">
So when we go to multiplayer from the main menu of the game, we go to the Local Lan TCP/IP games and search for each other is a game (which means I do a game, my father tries to join, but can not even see the name on his list, so he made a game and I tried to find it but it does not appear) , but it is not to list. So we go to Internet TCP/IP to Direct Play and try direct IP connections and host names (we are both on the same network, in fact we hardly 1 meter away from each other and our machines). It works no more. We tried the IPX to Direct Play connection but as well does not. We have disabled firewall and allowed through our anti virus programs. (if it helps, I have avast! antivirus, maybe it has problems, I don't know.) We tested the DirectPlay by dxdiag. This test does not all results on IPx, but the TCP/IP Protocol, and given the right port, I can join the session. My father remembers the problems with wireless lan playability of before and that machines that just happened to connected wireless network cannot join games, but once connected via ethernet (router desktop) cable and laptop to the router the game appears on the list and we can play. We are no longer in a situation where this is possible because the router is a different floor of our computers, and we have just a wireless connection.
    Summary of the problem:
1 can ping each and other machines, cannot join AOE2 game because it is right, it does not appear on the list.
2 can join dxdiag DirectPlay test sessions, but cannot join AOE2 game.
    3. the AOE2 game on multiplayer just does not appear on the list of games.
Solutions were tried but didn't work:
1 install the IPX protocol and play using the direct reading of IPX.
2 tried to do another network on our machines. Networks cannot be found by another computer.
    3 disable both firewalls.
    4 disable the antivirus.
5 join Internet TCP/IP per network (Hamachi, Tunngle) program.
    6. check if router configuration and network was ban anything. No results.
    7. use the dxdiag to test the connection. Can connect through the session but unable to connect to the game.
Can you give us an alternative that WORKS please?

  • When you play Age of Empires II - enemies don't get a lot of resources or troops

Hello. I've been playing Age of Empires II for years. I've seen a lot of strange things happen in the game, but it's just weird. Enemies in my game are piling up is no longer. They do gather resources, age upward and form a few units, but they seem to stop when their population is around 40. This problem has been ongoing for the past year or so. I played Age of Empires II on this same computer for so long, and I don't remember changing anything whatsoever. I even played a quick game of regicide this morning. The army combined all four of my enemies was probably about 60 units. When I landed in their territory, they sent their troops individually, not in any kind of training, kind of like when the British attack in the first scenario in the William Wallace campaign. These enemies had advanced through the ages, but they had almost nothing stronger than an England. The Koreans built two turtle ships, the Chinese have built about six Chu-Ko-Nu, but that's all.

It gets stranger, too. My brother played on this computer several times. When he plays, he has epic battles where more than a hundred homes get involved sometimes. I played just after him. I imitated his style of play on the same exact scenario has not yet changed a single parameter. Again, it is lamentable. I tried all sorts of difficulties and still have nothing. I completely uninstalled the game (the expansion and Age of Kings) and all its software related and reinstalled. Still nothing. I tried this patch and still got the same results. Someone knows how to fix this?
    Thank you!

I remember this question, about 6 years ago when I was actively playing the game on a daily basis. There is one thing that I can say, and is getting a mod HERE. Places like Age of Kings Heaven have very well HAVE mods. Link to mods HAVE here.

  • Buy a new product key for Age of Empires III?

I want to test my courage online, but it seems that I can not access my old account. I would like to know if I can buy a new one, or maybe just to buy a new game? If so, I prefer to transfer my old civilizations of solo and others in the new game. How would I do that?

«.. . It seems that I can not access my old account. »

Exactly, what is, or isn't it? Do you have still the original disks and the key code, or

are you just had a connection problem on site (is still available online) ?

-You can buy the collection of AOE 3 to the Humble store, or steamed, but it's a bit expensive atm.

They're probably between 30 and 50% from time to time however.

-Alternatively, you probably buy the game from e - bay, or similar. I got mine from a pawn shop.

This game is old enough not to have to worry about the key is limited to the original purchaser code

    like many games these days.

If you still have old games save file you will be able to exploit this information after having re-installed the game.

Save the original file, or rename temporarily (I simply add a 1 is at the front of the name).

In Win7 the games user folder is located in-

    User\Documents\My: Age of Empires 3

-This game has a lot of things in the folder, so it is best to copy everything in the old folder

    in new game folder.

Just allow him to replace all or rename the new folder for backup and copy the old folder of my games.

Restore the original name and your progress should be available.

[EDIT: I just create an account, and it seems there are still some activity.] You need the original CD/DVD

This corresponds with the CD key that you have installed the game with when using a basic version disk of

[the game, so if you don't have the key or the original diskettes, you can buy a new copy].

    Hello

I am trying to install Age of Empires III: complete Edition on my computer windows 7 via the application of gamestop. When I interrupt the installation or turn off then turn on the computer, Setup resets to 44.3%. It feels like it will never finish the installation through this reason. Can you help me with this or is this a matter of Gamestop App support?

«When I suspend the installation or turn off then turn on the computer, Setup resets to 44.3%.» ...
... or is it a matter of Gamestop App support? »

Stop a download will often break the download, or it did when I was still using dial-up 56 k.
The best way to get the successful download is to keep the machine running.
I used to start the download before you go to bed and let it run overnight.
Is there a particular reason, you must turn off your machine?
It is also preferable to avoid making another on line jobs who can fly the download of the
bandwidth when you have a slow connection. When a download is too slow it
may also cause a corrupted file.

If it's the only game that was a problem, then you can
want to try the support of GameStop, but you deleted the file and restarted
Download to own? If the original has been altered there is no continuous point
    with the same file.

    Hello

Thanks for the update on the issue. This can occur when a service or installation file is corrupted, which in this case could be done by the virus on the computer.
Try running the following fix - it, it will automatically detect and fix common issues with installing a program.
