AHCI driver Pavilion g6 - 1202q A1Z50EA

Hello everyone!

3 days ago, I bought a new laptop HP, model A1Z50EA with Freedos 1202 q on it.

I try also to install Windows 7 on it, but it stucks Windows extension files 0%.

I discovered on the Microsoft forum that I was able to install with a USB driver AHCI, but I can find it anywhere and even if I find I don't know which version to use (if there are a lot of choices).

Can someone tell me where I can find the driver for my laptop, or at least how to select the AHCI in the BIOS?

Currently I have not any operating system installed, I can not install anything else than Linux and I'm not good at this and at the moment I use a live CD Ubuntu.

Please help me!

I'm really surprised, that you must load the drivers with Windows 7.

I have PC with Intel series 6 chipset and Vista and Windows 7 does very well without having to load additional drivers.

I installed these operating systems in IDE, RAID and ACHI mode.

I suspect that if you do not use an installation of Microsoft DVD and you have downloaded the software and burned the ISO to a DVD file, you have a bad burn.

If this is the case, burn the image to a DVD by using the slowest possible speed to burn will allow your DVD burning program.

  • SSD in AHCI on Pavilion m9350be mode

    Hello

I installed an SSD (Samsung 840 EVO) in my Pavilion m9350be. Windows 7 recognized the HD and the drive works normally. Impossible to run in AHCI mode. When I change to AHCI raid in the BIOS, the PC unbootable.

Thanks a lot for your help!

    Hello:

You would need to change the BIOS to AHCI setting and then reinstall the operating system.

I don't know anyway, that you can modify it by adding the driver AHCI RAID mode and then change the setting to AHCI.

You can add the IDE mode AHCI driver, restart and change the setting in the BIOS to AHCI, but not with the RAID.

    I got BlueScreens with "..." Your... »

Later, I tried to install XP with F6 and AHCI-DriverFloppy-Image on USB.

It seems to work, but I have several possibilities for the choice.  I don't know, I have to select Intel-driver.

Can you tell me, if TI is possible to install XP on this laptop modern and if so, which driver should I choose?

Hopefully, you can help me. Best regards, Tim

    Hi, Tim:

It is not possible to install XP on your laptop.

There is no sata AHCI driver for XP for models with N pentiumN/celeron processors.  Is there no drivers graphics Intel for Windows XP for this chipset and processor.

The last specification chipset based Intel XP can be installed on would be one with a processor of 3rd generation with a 7 series Intel chipset.

Now, if you want to try to add these W7 SATA AHCI drivers I zipped and attached, you can put it on the disk.

I highly doubt they will work, but I guess you have nothing to lose by trying.

Even if they do, you will always have the problem of no graphics driver.

  • Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) has no install the AHCI Driver

When I built my current computer system in May 2011, I have not encountered this problem with installing 64-bit Windows 7 Pro on the new 500 GB Western Digital HARD drive.  In fact, I installed Win7 three times (to wipe the drive with DBAN after the first and second installs) before I was satisfied with the third installation.

Before the first installation, I configured the BIOS of card mother Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5 (Maj) SATA AHCI (with SATA 3.0) and copy the driver AHCI of CD Gigabyte on a SanDisk Cruzer USB (4 GB).  The GA-890FXA-UD5 (revision 2.1, version of the F6 BIOS) has an AMD chipset.

During each installation, the Win7 Installer reported that she could not find a HARD drive and offered the option to load a driver.  I used this option, and the installation program displays a dialog box with whom I sailed the Cruzer to select AHCI driver.  Each time, Setup loaded the driver with success smoothly.  Of course, I still have the installation of Microsoft Windows 7 Pro DVD, purchased with a full license of the retail.

Example: two years later, after that I started to meet various problems for which I could find no cause, no resolution, I suspected malware or corruption of the registry.  To make a long story short, eventually I decided to erase the internal HARD drive once again, after you save the data files on an external USB HDD.

Win7 Setup now follows the same routine, of course.  Except that now, it will fail to load the driver AHCI of the SanDisk Cruzer (!).  I've also removed the Win7 installation DVD, loaded the CD Gigabyte, sailed to the driver and selected.  The Win7 Installer is always not load.  In addition, before you run the Win7 Installer for other attempts, I connected the USB HDD external and sailed to a copy archived AHCI driver on it, but Win7 Setup could not load.  I have made many and repeated attempts, with all the storage media at hand, that contains a copy of the driver AHCI files, but not joy.

For what it's worth, I also ran the software on the repair disk I did shortly after installing Win7 Pro, and he couldn't load the driver AHCI of the SanDisk Cruzer with CD Gigabyte, respectively.

Then I reconfigured the BIOS of the motherboard to SATA IDE (with SATA 3.0) and rebooted the system.  You might think that Win7 Setup would have a suitable driver for the AMD SATA IDE, since she has one for the reader to optical disc Samsung DVD-Writer (obviously), but it did not find a HARD drive.  Then I sailed in the appropriate driver AMD x 64 on the CD of Gigabyte IDE files, but Setup cannot load it, too.

Question: why Windows 7 Pro 64-bit Setup does not install the driver AHCI, and what can I do about it?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

AHCI (Advanced Host controller) makes the NCQ (Native Command Files) with connection to warm or hot swapping through host controllers SATA Serial - ATA possible; Vista was the first to offer this feature. The problem with AHCI is that it must be enabled in BIOS before the installation of the OS. After installing the operating system will disable the PC. The reason why Windows disable the AHCI drivers not not needed during installation.

I suggest you activate the AHCI after installing the operating system if you already enable AHCI in the BIOS, when you installed the operating system.

Warning: This section, method, or task contains steps that tells you how to change the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. 2. in regedit, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services.
    3. in the left pane, click msahci, in the right pane, double-click Start to change.
    4. in the window that opens, change the value to 0 (zero), and then click on OK.
    5. in the left pane, click on iaStorV (if he), in the pane, double-click Start to change. Repeat step 4and continue with step 6 below.
NOTE: From: Error Message Occurs after you change the mode of the boot drive SATA
    6. close the registry editor.
    7. now you will need to reboot the PC and go into the BIOS and enable the AHCI. When Windows starts, it will finish installing the AHCI drivers.
    8. you will need a final restart to complete the process once the drivers are installed.

  • The AHCI driver installation failure

I have a BIOS Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3 (1.0). F9G. When I try to load the AHCI driver for Gigabyte, I downloaded, I get a Setup error failed every time. If I set the BIOS to AHCI or not, the driver has still not install. If I leave the BIOS set to AHCI Windows freezes on-screen swirling of the points and I restart and change back the IDE BIOS. If I go to Device Manager, as suggested in another post, there is no entry for the SATA drivers or controllers even though all three of my drives are connected to the SATA ports on the motherboard. So far, there is nothing that I found that will solve this problem so I can properly configure my Samsung 859 Pro SSD. Suggestions?

  • Pavilion s3505f: AHCI on Pavilion s3505f

    Hello

I just replaced the hard drive on my s3505f of Pavilion with an SSD and wanted to activate the AHCI on the computer.  I wasn't able to find a reference on the SATA mode in the BIOS of the PC (Phoenix - AwardBIOS r. 5.23).  Have not been able to find definitive information on the SATA ports to the motherboard Irvine for the PC, but I suspect they are SATA 1 (1.5 Gb/s) instead of SATA 2 (3 Gb/s with the AHCI support).  Transfer rates by an average of 110 MB/s in non-AHCI mode.

I am aware that the AHCI drivers must be enabled in Vista before a change of SATA to AHCI mode in the BIOS.

No confirmation on the types of port SATA card mother Irvine would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    You are the very welcome.

Yes, AHCI is a subset of RAID in some respect, but not to an SSD work better on a model as old as yours.

The only time where RAID is as good as that AHCI is if you have a PC with an Intel Series 7 or more recent chipset, which has SSD trim support RAID if you can't change the settings from AHCI storage controller, and you have installed the Intel Rapid Storage Technology technology for this chipset driver.

The only thing RAID will do to your PC would be to allow for native command queuing, which is ideal for a mechanical hard drive, but a litle on an SSD, since there are no moving parts in SSD.

Here's the only native made command queues...

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Native_Command_Queuing

Motherboards are made to HP requirements by the MFR of motherboard.

If there is no setting in the BIOS to change the setting of the drive controller, then I doubt that it will be possible to do - even with a BIOS update.
