AIR-1252 antennas required?

Hello

Just bought AIR-LAP-1252AG-A-KP 2, APS. I noticed that there are external antenna connectors. I have loked in the Doc, but impossible to find the info I'm looking for. I want to use inside a gym room and wondering if they will work without external antennas.

Thank you

Mike

Hi Mike,.

The 1252 has no antenna/antenna "built-in" options, so external antennas are needed;

Antennas supported are listed in this doc;

http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/wireless/access_point/1250/installation/guide/125h_c1.html

Take a look at this good thread which includes a good overview on the options of the antenna, Dennis, who is very knowledgeable about 11n;

I hope this helps!

  • Stupid question about 1252 & antennas...

    I am deploying some AP 1252 for outdoor use.  Real radios will be inside, but I intend to AIR-ANT2506, mounted outdoors for coverage of 2.4 GHz omnidirectional antennas.  I'm assuming that I'm supposed to just to use an antenna omni by radio - is that correct?  Or can I mount an omni on the northeast corner of the building outside and an another omni on the southwest corner of the building and have them on the same radio 1252?

    I wasn't sure how the multiple connections antenna worked with omni antennas.

    -Nick

    You must connect an AIR ANT2506 to each of the three connectors on the 2.4 Ghz radio. These three antennas should be mounted as in this photo: https://supportforums.cisco.com/servlet/JiveServlet/download/1315959-35656/DSC02825.JPG

    Minimum distance between left and right of the antennas must be about 5 "and maximum should be about 20". The Central antenna should be in the middle.

    This image has two 2.4 ghz (down to three) and antennas 5 GHz (first three), but you would be in the bottom three if you only need 2.4 GHz.

    Since you have 1252 (both 2.4 ghz and 5 GHz radio), you should probably get six antennas as pictured. For the 5 GHz range, you should get three antennas that are rated for 5 GHz radio.

    And no, you can't just put these antennas in different areas of 'increase' coverage, the three antennas are intended for individual protection cell.

  • Media Center incorrectly determines the digital tuner on my Hauppauge 1850 as incompatible to the Canada for digital channels over-the-air via antennas

    I have a hauppauge tuner card 1850. I live in the Canada. If I've set up media center with the Canada as my position the digital tuner is not recognized as compatible in my area. If I place the library with my position defined in the United States. The digital tuner is recognized and works very well. The downside is that I can not guide ads for my actual surface when I set the location in media center in the United States.

  • Adobe AIR is required to run the panels?

    I noticed in the User Guide that Adobe AIR is required to run the Adobe Configurator 1.0.  Is not necessary at the moment where you develop signs or is the AIR runtime necessary on a computer on which you install a panel already developed?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you...

    Rob

    Lol AIR is not required to run the panels. In fact, you can not run AIR projects such as a Panel in Photoshop CS4. You can use AIR to create a stand-alone application to control following the help of SwtichBoard creative applications. http://labs.Adobe.com/wiki/index.php/switchboard

  • Antenna issue 1242 AP

    We seek to secure physically better our LWAP we have them now.  A plan that has been proposed is to put the AP in our closets of comm and run the coaxial cable to the locations we would like wireless signal is.  We have AIR-ANT4941 antennas coaxial standard for our ap how long of a cable can be run from the access point to the antenna until it signifigant signal loss?

    dhopper,

    If the answer to your question is not a short or easy to answer, but here's the information you need make a basis to develop a response.  Are you just planning 802. 11 b / g or 802. 11 has also? What diameter of cable you plan to use?

    Typical cable options

    LMR - 200 has a loss of .165db/ft or 1.6db by 10 ft @ 2.4 Ghz and a loss of .264db/ft or 2.6db by 10 ft to 5 Ghz more than 1 DB of loss for connections. Cable LMR-200 is approximately 1/4 "in diameter (typical antenna cable) but that the connector is approximately 1/2" (typical RP - TNC plug)

    LMR - 400 has a loss of... 066db/ft or 0.6db by 10 ft to 2.4 Ghz and a loss of .109db/ft or 1.1db by 10 ft to 5 Ghz more than 1 DB of loss for connections. LMR-400 cable is approximately 1/2 "in diameter, but the connector is approximately 3/4" (typical RP - TNC plug)

    LMR - 600 has a loss of .043db/ft or 0.4db by 10 ft @ 2.4 Ghz and a loss of .073db/ft or 0.7db by 10 ft to 5 Ghz more than 1 DB of loss for connections. Cable LMR-600 is approximately 3/4 "in diameter (typical antenna cable), but the connector is approximately 1" (typical RP - TNC plug)

    MRL - 900 has a loss of .029db/ft or 0.2dB by 10 ft @ 2.4 Ghz and a loss of .049db/ft or 0.4db by 10 ft to 5 Ghz more than 1 DB of loss for connections. Cable LMR-900 is approximately 1 "in diameter (typical antenna cable) but that the connector is approximately 1 1/2" (typical RP - TNC plug)

    So to calculate the end result here is how you do it.

    The AP transmitted Power - Connector loss - loss in the Cable + antenna Gain = radiated isotropic power (WORST) * Note: EIRP must not exceed 30 dB

    So lets run 2 scenarios with this information: 802. 11 b is power 100 MW (20 dB), power 802.11 g is 30mw (14db), 802. 11A power of 40 MW (17db) is antenna is 6db to 802. 11b / g, 5db to 802. 11A and you cable length is 20 feet.

    No scenario of cable

    802 11 b--> 20db + 6 dB = 26db = 400mw

    802.11 g--> 17db + 6 dB = 23db = 200mw

    802. 11A--> 17db + 5db = 22 dB = 150mw

    With cable LMR-200 (the numbers are close, but not exactly)

    802 11 b--> 20db - 1db - 3.2db + 6 dB = 22 dB = 150mw

    802.11 g--> 17db - 1db - 3.2db + 6 dB = 19db = 80mw

    802. 11A--> 17db - 1db - 3.2db + 5db = 18 dB = 60mw

    As you can see 20 feet of cable drastically reduced the power of access points. FCC regulations require that you stay under the 30 dB max EIRP, and for every 3db power is increased it doubles at each 3db down it is cut in half as shown below

    = 23dbm 200mW

    100MW 20dbm =

    50 MW = 17dmm

    25 MW = 14dbm

    I hope this helps to answer your questions. If you found this helpful please do not hesitate to write it down.

  • Connect the antennas on 1260AP

    Hello

    I plan to buy a cisco 1260AP so I can connect external antennas.

    My choice would be the AIR-ANT2506 antenna

    I have to buy 3 antennas?

    How to install on the mast? All 3 antennas on the same mast with the same height?

    If someone find some information on how you connect the 3 antennas on the ap1260, everything is welcome...

    Thanks in advanced for the comments

    Hello

    Yes, you need 3.

    They should be a little like how they're about to access = on the same height on the mast and the side by side, a few centimetres from each other.

  • AIR-cabins doubt!

    Hello everyone,

    I am faced with a project of wifi and I connect the following,.

    -One AP AIR-BRG1310G-E-K9-R to an antenna of the AIR-ANT24120

    -Two AIR-BR1310-E-K9-R to their AIR-ANT1949 antennas,

    I don't know what cable use in both cases. I saw R-CAB005LL-AIR and AIR-CAB005LL-N, but don't know their differences and if they meet my needs. Can you help me to find an appropriate solution? and who is the diference between he'S - R and he'S - N?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Jose,

    AIR-CAB005LL-N = cable with low loss of 5 - pi, a N connector, a connector N 90 degrees right

    AIR-CAB005LL-R = low loss cable 5-pi, an RP - TNC, a jack to RP - TNC connector

    So the machine we use is AIR-BRG1310G-E-K9 -R ... here the 'R' represents the RP - TNC connectors... If the cable that we need use is AIR-CAB005LL-R

    AIR-CAB005LL-N is used to connectotr type N male and usually used for the bridge of 1410...

    Let me know if that answers your question...

  • How to use the Adobe Air?  Adobe Flash must Adobe Air to work properly?

    How to use the Adobe Air?  Adobe Flash must Adobe Air to work properly?

    Flash Player requires no AIR.

    AIR is a technology that allows Flash developers to make stand-alone desktop applications and mobile.  Some desktop applications of AIR (generally older) require the shared AIR runtime to exploit, while others are packaged in stand-alone applications with no external dependencies.

    Hope that helps.

  • CS4, Adobe AIR installation problems on a Mac

    Thank you, Mylenium for your answer.

    I use OS x 10.8.3.  I downloaded and installed a new version of Java.  Installation of CS4 still bites the dust when "installing Adobe AIR."

    Now, I get a box in Adobe Air: "the application requires a version of Adobe AIR which is no longer supported. Please contact the author of the application for an updated version. »

    (Before asking in this forum, I "spoke" to the Adobe 'chat people': was the cat guy kidding when he suggested that I need to equip CS again?) YIKES! That is, until I asked to speak to his supervisor...)

  • Should the new silent update feature in Flash player 11.2.202.228 adobe air installed to update?

    It is for IE8 on a Vista 32 bit computer.

    In addition, when it updates automatically it adds things like the Google toolbar promotional and other?

    AIR is not required for the new silent update feature.  You will also always have third-party applications added without first being allowed to withdraw.

  • Disadvantage of developing for the iphone with air?

    I have developed a few games with flash and wanted to try my hand at a few mobile apps. Most of my games are point and clicks and since I already know AS3, AIR appears to be a very good option.

    I asked about Android - I intend to targeting first - and it appears that a major drawback is that many AIR apps woud require additional software on older phones and that the required software is a bit a space hog.

    What are the disadvantages for development for iphone? IOS requires special software to play AIR apps? They work particularly slow on the iphone?

    (1) the most recent version of air is only compatitble with ipod 3/4 generation and iphone 3GS and iphone 4

    (2) as with android, you do have access to all the features of the phone like tongues (contact lists, push notifications, etc.)

    (3) air for IOS is still a fairly new technology, so there is / will be bugs and problems you will encounter

    (4) a lot more care needs to take for optimization that you would normally do on a desktop application

    (5) the size of each IOS app is minimum 4 MB because the duration of air is conditioned with each app.  This allows ios not its users install air runtime separately as android, but it also means for much larger applications according to your original size

    That being said, I am relatively satisfied with the speed that updates / changes are coming.  IMO, with a few other settings and optimizations, air will be really able to compete with the mother tongues for some projects.

    Hope this helps

  • AIR is necessary after that .air is installed in the .exe?

    The installed executable depends on AIR?

    I hope I understand your question, but yes, the AIR runtime is required for the application to run even after the installation of the .air package.  Once installed, the file .air itself is no longer necessary.

  • Install mac OS Sierra

    Hello

    I downloaded the Sierra of Mac OS, but I can't install it. My MacBook Air meets the requirements and have enough space on the disk.

    However, when I go to iTunes, I see that I have already downloaded the software but I don't see a button to click and install.

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you

    Tomas

    To install Sierra, go to the Mac App Store, not iTunes.

    Open the first tab, 'Star' of the App Store, type "Sierra" in the search field, and it will show you the download.

    Install from there.

  • Why does NOT administrator password?

    My Macbook Air is NOT requiring a password to get into the administrator account.

    When I restart the Mac, it requires a password to enter the administrator and user accounts. I also need a password to the user account to the administrator account. But once I'm in the account administrator and start the screen saver, I don't have a password for the administrator account. In the user account after you start the screen saver, I come on the user account, a password.

    You must go to the System Prefs > users & groups

    Connection options

    and disable the automatic connection, it must be turned off

  • HP6500 OfficeJet unwanted Wireless disconnect

    My printer AiO - OJ - 6500 E709n in my homenetwork wireless goes Offline spontaneously and unpredictably.

    This happened the first time approximately 8 months after installation and first use.

    The printers Windows and FAX-list shows the printer (and FAX) offline. Resetting these devices in this list by clicking the contexmenu online is not about the result.

    • Several diagnostic tests, such as HPHNDU.exe (from the home of HP) and the Networdk subproject from the HP Solution Center shows the printer off-line.
    • The EWS serverpage does not come in Internet Explorer, although there is no problem to the Internet.
    • Networkconfiguration report, printed with the control panel of the printer: everything is OK. This also with the Printerstatusreport and the connectivitystatus report.
    • The firewall disabled is no help.
    • Total uninstall with the dedicated HP software and reinstalling has not solved the problem
    • My printer has an IP defined manually 192.168.2.15 and gateway IP 192.168.2.1 (= IP address of the router/access point). My computer has IP 192.168.2.7. Finally, there is a cableconnected networkdrive with IP = 192.168.2.221

    The printer seems to be "we air ' (icon antenna-led is on), but he does not see my phone.

    My equipment:

    • Laptop Acer 5920 G, XP - Pro (32 bit), 3 GB of RAM, 500 GB HARD drive
    • Router/access point Linksys WRT54G (in mixed b and g, infrastructure, secure WPA mode)
    • 2 other computers normally in this network, but during the installation of the printersoftware's most current usage.

    I would greatly appreciate your help.

    This kind of problem is issued earlier on this forum, but the proposals of solution didn't help.

    Thanks for your suggestion. My printer worked without any problems for several months. Thus, the firewall not corrupted software cannot be the cause. However I agree on your comment about the firewall.

    The connectivityreport of the printer, raised with the printerkey combination # + "SetUpknob", set me

    among which there are new things: a windowsrecovery full on one of my laptops in the homenetwork and a very thorough inspection of all my networksettings especially the securityparameters. Then it turns out, I've been using different encodings of encryption: WPA-PSK/TKIP on a single computer, WPA - PSK and WPA2-PSK/TKIP on another. AES on the printer. (The 3rd computer has taken into consideration in this investigation). I indeed worked on these parameters in the recent past without realizing myself these consequences with regard to the printer.

    My problem is now solved.

    I advice everyone with connectionproblems with this OJ6500 print this connectivityreport.

    Unfortunately HP is not raising these special as # configuration shortcuts, while there are has several of them, # 1 2 3 f.i.
