Disadvantage of developing for the iphone with air?

I have developed a few games with flash and wanted to try my hand at a few mobile apps. Most of my games are point and clicks and since I already know AS3, AIR appears to be a very good option.

I asked about Android - I intend to targeting first - and it appears that a major drawback is that many AIR apps woud require additional software on older phones and that the required software is a bit a space hog.

What are the disadvantages for development for iphone? IOS requires special software to play AIR apps? They work particularly slow on the iphone?

(1) the most recent version of air is only compatitble with ipod 3/4 generation and iphone 3GS and iphone 4

(2) as with android, you do have access to all the features of the phone like tongues (contact lists, push notifications, etc.)

(3) air for IOS is still a fairly new technology, so there is / will be bugs and problems you will encounter

(4) a lot more care needs to take for optimization that you would normally do on a desktop application

(5) the size of each IOS app is minimum 4 MB because the duration of air is conditioned with each app.  This allows ios not its users install air runtime separately as android, but it also means for much larger applications according to your original size

That being said, I am relatively satisfied with the speed that updates / changes are coming.  IMO, with a few other settings and optimizations, air will be really able to compete with the mother tongues for some projects.

    First, the SDK has not been "thrown" Adobe has mentioned that they are moving Flex to open at MAX 2010 governance model, and I think that it is widely regarded as a good thing for the community.

    That being said, your question is not really responsible since the right technology depends on many different factors. We use Flex and AIR, because it's rapid development, the capabilities of the platform, and because we already have the resources and the talent in-house to produce with it.

    If I need to get out every bit of performance I might opt for XCode rather (very probably as a native of the AIR extension).

    16:9 devices only fill the screen if you have included start-up of 16:9 screens. If you do not, then you get a version of 3:2, with black bars on the sides.

    'Stock' apps are part of the installation of iOS and cannot be removed, so there is nothing to verify or prove.

    When you move to a new phone, just need restoring your old backup phone and compatible applications will be synchronized to the new.

    I packed all type of style, one by a [email protected] Default.png, Default-568h@2x~iPhone.png etc, but eror won't.

    How to remove the error. I packed images and pictures on splashimage... one by one page by default.

    [email protected] is the size of the requested file, and it must have dimensions of 640 x 1136.

    Make sure that this file is included in your IPA in the top-level directory.  A good way to check is to rename "myapp.ipa" to "myapp.zip" and unzip and look in the top level of the folder structure.

    To get Flash Builder to include it in the IPA, place it in a folder that is included in your flash builder source tree (I use the "system" folder and make sure it is added separately to the project) and make sure that you have checked in the content area of the package:

    Please do the following and after each test to see if the problem is resolved - if yes, then you can omit the following steps - I tried to list them in ascending order of the effort at least on a Mac and / or an iDevice

    1. Please see recommended settings of WiFi routers and access Apple points.
    2. Check if the problem is related to a single device and if other devices connect normally-
    3. If the 2 answer is 'yes' - try to connect the device assigned to somewhere else if possible - coffee or the University
    4. Perform a forced - restart cela do not delete or purge all data and allows to solve many problems - here is how - press and hold the Off / On Home button and at the same time for about 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Allow normal startup upward.

    No, if you want to keep all rights to the service or support from Apple. Not to mention the fact that it then will be bork Touch ID and make the phone unusable if ever, you restore or update of iOS.

    Apple doesn't sell parts of the iPhone. There is no legitimate sources for replacement screens.

    Take a read through the help of Bob on the "renditions" topic: Digital Publishing Suite help | Creation of "renditions" folio. It should answer most of your questions. For now, you can create a version of 6 specific iPhone (the viewer will not appear it), but it's ok that the rendering of the iPhone 5 is so close in size, that you will probably never want to go through the effort to make an interpretation just for the iPhone 6.

    When you generate a viewer customized with App Builder, you can decide if the scroll bar automatically hides.

    Many of our publishers are experimenting with it. Other titles include National Geographic Magazine and The New Yorker.

    Some publishers provide simply reuse their content on iPhone iPad and relying on the pinch and zoom feature of the Viewer to provide a reading experience. Custom content will be a much better player experience, but does it come at the expense of designing a different question.
