HP6500 OfficeJet unwanted Wireless disconnect

My printer AiO - OJ - 6500 E709n in my homenetwork wireless goes Offline spontaneously and unpredictably.

This happened the first time approximately 8 months after installation and first use.

The printers Windows and FAX-list shows the printer (and FAX) offline. Resetting these devices in this list by clicking the contexmenu online is not about the result.

  • Several diagnostic tests, such as HPHNDU.exe (from the home of HP) and the Networdk subproject from the HP Solution Center shows the printer off-line.
  • The EWS serverpage does not come in Internet Explorer, although there is no problem to the Internet.
  • Networkconfiguration report, printed with the control panel of the printer: everything is OK. This also with the Printerstatusreport and the connectivitystatus report.
  • The firewall disabled is no help.
  • Total uninstall with the dedicated HP software and reinstalling has not solved the problem
  • My printer has an IP defined manually 192.168.2.15 and gateway IP 192.168.2.1 (= IP address of the router/access point). My computer has IP 192.168.2.7. Finally, there is a cableconnected networkdrive with IP = 192.168.2.221

The printer seems to be "we air ' (icon antenna-led is on), but he does not see my phone.

My equipment:

  • Laptop Acer 5920 G, XP - Pro (32 bit), 3 GB of RAM, 500 GB HARD drive
  • Router/access point Linksys WRT54G (in mixed b and g, infrastructure, secure WPA mode)
  • 2 other computers normally in this network, but during the installation of the printersoftware's most current usage.

I would greatly appreciate your help.

This kind of problem is issued earlier on this forum, but the proposals of solution didn't help.

Thanks for your suggestion. My printer worked without any problems for several months. Thus, the firewall not corrupted software cannot be the cause. However I agree on your comment about the firewall.

The connectivityreport of the printer, raised with the printerkey combination # + "SetUpknob", set me

among which there are new things: a windowsrecovery full on one of my laptops in the homenetwork and a very thorough inspection of all my networksettings especially the securityparameters. Then it turns out, I've been using different encodings of encryption: WPA-PSK/TKIP on a single computer, WPA - PSK and WPA2-PSK/TKIP on another. AES on the printer. (The 3rd computer has taken into consideration in this investigation). I indeed worked on these parameters in the recent past without realizing myself these consequences with regard to the printer.

My problem is now solved.

I advice everyone with connectionproblems with this OJ6500 print this connectivityreport.

Unfortunately HP is not raising these special as # configuration shortcuts, while there are has several of them, # 1 2 3 f.i.

and # 1 2 4

  • OfficeJet 8500 Wireless problem

Hello - my printer all-in-one Officejet 8500 wireless worked fine until I replaced my router to a BT Home Hub 4. I have no problem with the router, but to use the wireless printer, I need to enter the key wireless, so it can connect it. Unfortunately, the upper half of the touch pad on the printer (where you select settings, etc.) does not seem to respond to touch the most so I have no way I know to enter the wireless key. The lower half of the touchpad where you select print options etc. seems to work very well.

Is there a way I can work around by using the button on the printer? That's my problem can be solved easily or do I need an engineer visit?

I use a MacBook Pro and iPad to print from then I am unable to use HP Print & Scan Doctor (although I could use that I don't know if this can help with the kind of problem I have).

    Please can someone help?

    Hey heavy-lou.

I see that you have an Officejet 8500 Wireless and have a problem with the get connected to your BT Home Hub 4 router due to a problem with the screen on the printer.  I understand that you want to use the wireless printer, but it can be a little difficult to connect via the front panel with the display problem you mention.

Temporarily, I would advise the printer connected with an Ethernet cable to get a valid IP address on the BT Home Hub 4.  Due to the display problem, it can be difficult to print a page of Network Configuration of the device.  However, the steps to do so can be found here.  However, you can access the SAP (built-in web server) the BT Home Hub 4 by typing the IP address of the network domain in a browser bar and pressing ENTER.  Once here you find the complete list of devices connected to the network and see what IP the HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless is assigned.

Once you have the IP address of the printer, you can then type the following in a browser's address bar to access the Web integrated printer server.  In this section, you will be able to select the network tab and run the Wireless Setup Wizard is located in the SAP of the printer.  It will be able to bypass the display problem.  If necessary, check the encryption for the printer settings in the EWS network section to make sure that the settings are compatible with the current encryption on your network type (WEP, WPA, etc.).  Once the complete wireless Setup Wizard it will ask that the product be disconnected Ethernet network that the printer is supported both at the same time.

I would like to know if it is able to help get your printer connected wireless to your BT Home Hub 4

  • "HP Officejet 6500 Wireless" can connect dual mode?

    Hello

I just bought printer 'Officejet 6500 Wireless' and have it installed on my desktop computer with USB.

My office does not have a wireless connection, it is wired to my router wireless port.

My other laptops are connected wirelessly to the same router.

Can I connect my other laptops (wireless) to the printer, while the printer is connected to the desktop via USB?

In other words, can it print from the desktop and at the same time print from a wireless network for laptop?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes you can, but there is no reason to do so.

Router wireless (like all) treats all clients the same way, if they are connected through an Ethernet cable or wireless. In addition, all clients can communicate with each other no matter how they are connected.

I recommend you to connect your printer to your router via a wired connection if you can (its more easy and more reliable) and if you can not because it is not close to the router, connect wireless.   Then, you can disconnect the USB on your desktop, and all computers on the network can use it.

  • Scanner does not work on HP Officejet 6500 Wireless with MacBook Pro

I have the all-in-one Officejet 6500 wireless and print fine but the scanner does not work even after the implementation of suggestions on the Web site.  I recently installed Mac OS x 10.6.8 but I had the same problem with the previous software.  Scan worked fine until the last few months.  I get the message that "HP Scan Pro quit unexpectedly" or "Sorry, an unknown error has occurred", but no additional information.  I have re-installed the software HP twice but to no avail.  What can I do?

Try the scan using the Image Capture in your Applications folder.  Click your scanner on the left side, click "Show details" on the bottom.

  • Y500 Wireless disconnection

My wireless disconnects always randomly a few times every day. Before I had to resolve to fix wireless adapter when I had this problem. Then, I tried a few fixes in other threads with the similar topic. It always disconnects randomly, but I don't have to fix it, simply manually connect to wifi. No other devices connected to my network have this problem.

    Try this:

    1. disable bluetooth (you can play and activate this later, after problems and achieve a stable wifi connection problem)

    2. start the bios and disable secure boot (reactivate this once your problem solved)

    3. start in safe mode

    4. go in Control Panel/Device Manager and look for the wifi card. It should be in the network card.

    5. uninstall the driver. When presented with the case of the delete option to delete permanently. Click OK.

    6 reboot the device.

    7. Windows will install its own driver wifi with the default settings. Do not change the settings.

    8. connect to the internet. Enter the ssid and passhrase to establish the connection.

Check if you have a stable connection. If so, remember to re-enable secure boot.
