AirDrop does not...

As much as I bought my iPhone and my Macbook pro 13 (2015) 6 I always had problems with parachuting. It was not just to work! I tried all the solutions I found on google, and here on apple discussions and nothing seems to work! Continuity works fine, but when I want to share something through drop between my mac and iphone, they just do not find the other. I have the bluetooth on, they are connected on the same wifi, I have new updates on mac and iphone. Some time previously, I tried and it worked, but just for like a day. I tried to switch the wifi routers and it does not work even on one or the other. I don't know what to do. Any help? Thank you

Hello Vlado.n,

Thank you for asking your question here in Apple Support communities. I understand how it is important to have the AirDrop works between the Mac and your iPhone. Since we know that continuity is not working properly, we want to check the settings specific to the release.

This article will go through all the troubleshooting steps to ensure AirDrop works between two devices: Use AirDrop to send the contents of your Mac.

The key to make this work is to make sure that you don't have any third-party antivirus or firewall on. If you turn them off, you will need to restart your Mac to test it again. In addition, ensure that the settings are correct on both devices, such as sharing with contacts or not. If this setting is enabled, it may be better to turn it off and try again. Don't forget that the discovery by the settings is correct.

Thanks again for raising your question here, in the communities of Support from Apple. Have a great day.

    Hello hanmacjkt,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I see that your main problem is that your AirDrop does not work between your iPhone and Macbook. I also noticed that your Bluetooth seems to be also up. Because the air drop can be affected by the problems of Bluetooth, lets take a look at this one first.

Take a look at this article for a few steps to troubleshoot your Bluetooth.

  • AirDrop does not work between Mac mini end of 2014 and 6 s iPhone more

    Hello!

I'm here for the first time. A little more last year, I bought a Mac mini end of 2014 with Core i5 clocked at 2.6 GHz, 8 GB RAM and 5400 RPM HARD drive. I replaced the HDD for an SSD, Samsung EVO 850 250 GB, to be correct. I also have an iPhone 6 Plus and does not AirDrop between my devices. They discover each other. Update both OS X and iOS on a regular basis, so that's not the problem. Check on this issue and finding a solution a have met this Airdrop is not my Mac mini 2012 and I have a few questions:

I checked that TRIM Enabler Coulon, but later on my Mac I searched this Samsung EVO can't GARNISH. What it means? Download and install TRIM Enabler would be unnecessary, because the problem isn't here? Everything is fine with the Bluetooth, WiFi, my 6s more connects to the other MacBook Pro Retina early 2015, as the new MacBook 12 "iPads and iPhones, too. Please help me, thank you in advance.

10.10.4 and later Apple does not allow that you caraa select TRIM and third part SSD. See:

  • Transfer files via AirDrop does not not on Mac Pro with El Capitan

I tried to transfer files between my iPhone and my macbook pro installed with El Capitan 10.11.5 2015 6 / iPad pro. Between the devices of the latter, it works flawlessly, but on the Macbook, it does not. I followed all the suggestions in the forums, delete the file bluetooth.plist etc. However non of these work. I noticed something in the section ' on the Mac / system report / Bluetooth.

I don't know if it will be useful, but I would have thought that should not be disabled, Airdrop uses Bluetooth technology.

These services are for the regular BT file transfer, not release.

They are listed as being disabled on my Mac Pro 2013 too but AirDrop works very well between my iPhone 6 + and Mac.

  • AirDrop does not and the bluetooth does not connect to the macbook pro

Hi, I have an iphone6s and a macbook pro, release used to work before, but now it is not. I think it's probably because I can not connect my macbook on my iphone via bluetooth which is something that probably dump uses.
Does anyone have any suggestions? He used to work before.

    My iphone 6s is 9.3.2.

My macbook is on 10.11.5 (15F34).

I tried to restart my mac and reset my Iphone. I also tried to delete the file com.apple.bluetooth.plist.

I also tried to disable the bluetooth and turn back on for both devices.

My airdrop is already set to "everyone".

Sometimes, it is not even discover my mac on my iphone even if I discover my iphone on my mac. When I try to pair, this is for me the pair prompt on my iphone and I click and it goes to 'Connected' and then back to "not connected".

And that's fine if I can't connect my iphone to my mac via bluetooth, I want just the parachuting of work.

  • Parachuting on MBP does not

AirDrop does not see my (4th gen) iPad or iPhone 6 - AirDrop connects between these devices.  When I open the drop in finder on my MBP he sees nothing.  I do not see the options "allow me to be discovered by:" or "do not see that you are looking?  The iPad and iPhone are right next to the MB. I tried all the recommendations I can find to solve problems.  Check the settings of the firewall, restarted the computer, repeatedly turned on/turned off wifi & bluetooth.  My check of system indicates AirDrop is supported. I use current software on all devices.  No idea why it won't work & why I don't have any options to select below the AirDrop icon in the finder window?  I've included screenshots for reference.  Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Thank you

Hello. Your computer is not supported by airdrop to iOS.

    Release system requirements

To send items to an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, you have a 2012 model or more recent Mac with OS X Yosemite or later version, except the Mac Pro (mid-2012).

To send items to another Mac, you must:

    • MacBook Pro (Late 2008) or newer, excluding the MacBook Pro (17 inch, late 2008)
    • MacBook Air (late 2010) or newer
    • MacBook (Late 2008) or newer, excluding the white MacBook (Late 2008)
    • iMac (early 2009) or newer
    • Mac Mini (mid-2010) or newer

  • iOS 9.3.5 bluetooth does not

I have a new (refurb) iPhone more 6s with iOS 9.3.5.  Bluetooth doesn't seem to work.  When you try to pair with devices the cursor just turns and turns and the phone can never find anything.  I tried a beef of impulse, a jbl speaker and tried to use airdrop.  Is there anything I can try to solve this problem?  Looking for an answer seems to indicate a problem with the update of iOS, but I can't find any solution

Try to hold down the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons at the same time for about 15 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. You won't lose anything.

If that doesn't help, try a system restore. First save your device via iTunes. Also import your photos on your computer and copy all the data if possible. Reconstruction of the support first test and test. If this does not help, you may need to restore as a new and reconfigure from scratch as the backup may be damaged. It is important to have your photos and your saved data separately from the backup. Here are the steps for a restoration:

If the steps above do not help, you may need to test in an Apple store.

  • Parachute does not not between my MacBook and iPhone6s

I'm really tired of working on my drop between my Macbook 13 "(non-retine) El-Capitan running and my iPhone running iOS 6s 9.3.1." The thing is that my Macbook does never show in my phone for sharing and my phone sometimes shows in the Macbook for sharing. Although the connection to my iPad in these two devices is perfect.

I have tried all possible ways to make it work, restarted both devices several times, removed the com.apple.bluetooth.plist from my laptop, but still nothing happens after you turn on the bluetooth again. I have really had enough of this now and need a solution to share files back and forth between these two devices.

  • Dead button, mini home iPad does not

I left my mini ipad charging for a whole day yesterday and was just dead when I arrived home (connected at about 07:30, got home around 22:00).

I tried locking push button and the "home" button and went into account before that, my home button works well so I think that there is no guarantee that I can perform the reset in this way. The last time I had similar problem last year (the case was also dead after left load for a long time), I took to a third party service center and was functioning properly shortly after. I plugged my ipad back into power source, nor any laptop computer. Is it possible that I can try to solve this problem before coming back to the service center? Since it costs me a lot of money.

    Turn on the AssistiveTouch

When you turn on the AssistiveTouch, you will see the AssistiveTouch menu. You can drag it to any edge of the screen, then press the menu to open it.

There are several ways to turn on AssistiveTouch:

    • Go to settings > general > accessibility > AssistiveTouch, then turn on the AssistiveTouch.
    • Tell Siri 'Activate AssistiveTouch.'
    • Go to settings > general > accessibility > accessibility shortcut and turn onto AssistiveTouch.

When the accessibility shortcut is enabled, you can enable AssistiveTouch on or off from any screen using Triple-click home. Simply press the Home button three times. To adjust the speed Triple-click, go to settings > general > accessibility > home-click speed.

Replacement of the device under warranty

If you have the opportunity to get the button replaced (by obtaining the replaced device), it would probably be the best route. It would be much easier to use a functional button only to use AssistiveTouch. If your machine was purchased less than a year before, or you bought AppleCare and the unit was purchased less than TWO years ago, it is under warranty. The warranty does not apply if the unit has been dropped or suffered from any accidental damage to the user. If the unit is not under warranty, you can see...

AssistiveTouch allows you to control your device

You can use AssistiveTouch to find and adjust some settings on your device as Volume, screen, lock screen rotation and more. Click on the AssistiveTouch menu and click on the parameter to be modified.

To turn off your device, follow these steps:

    1. Open the AssistiveTouch menu and tap device.
    2. Touch and hold the lock screen until "slide to power off" appears.

You can also use AssistiveTouch to access your home screen. Just open the menu AssistiveTouch and press Home. To use Siri, open the menu AssistiveTouch and press Siri. You won't see Siri on devices with iOS 5 or later.

To access your Notifications, go to the AssistiveTouch menu and press Notification Center. To reach the control center, go to the AssistiveTouch menu and press Control Center. From there, you will be able to do things like turn Bluetooth on and off, use AirPlay and AirDrop, take pictures and much more
