  Te cuento that vmware server probably only end of life algun momento.

  Te recommend that mrge into an ESXi server you dara mejor performance.

  If el domain controller are not full productive no you recommend instalar el vmware server ahi, perhaps you convenga migrar el rol del servidor e instalar esxi.

  We bought VMware ESX Server about 2 years ago and then IT Director was the only person who had the number of the product, but he left, and we are in a situation that we need to reload the server, but we can't because we have no serial or activation of our vmware product code is it possible to find? I tried to do a search on the website of VMware Member but it seems like the serial number / activation code was ever recorded which leaves me a bit of a difficult situation at the moment.

  From VMWare Server 1, this product is free to use (registration needed and they delivered a serial number too). I have not downloaded/used 2 Server since the first beta I'm under 1.0 x to my satisfaction and currently starting to switch to ESXi (free too, but with some limitations).

• HP DL380-&gt; find hardware serial number of HP DL380 Server 2008 R2 VM

  I'm working on a VMWare ESXi configuration that requires to get the serial number of the equipment of a HP DL380 to the VMWare Guest.  The only problem I have is that the guest will not know the IP address of the VMWare host.

  Here's the Setup: HP DL380 (running VMWare ESXi 5.5)-> VMWare ESXi Guest VM (virtual machine must obtain the serial number of the DL380, but do not know the IP address of the host and can not reach the network.  It is possible in some other way?).

  Any help would be appreciated.

  Well... you will need to do so through a proxy...

  If you have access to the VM vCenter, you can watch a powercli for this script, it would be grep it...

  If that VM can not reach the host at all, then you need another 'computer' that can reach the ESX host and virtual machine, to ask for you and pick up the other "computer."

  If this isn't an option... then you must watch the invoice for the order...

• Old school with CS2.  Have not used for a long time and I am unable to use the program as it says my serial number is not valid. Customer service tells me that the server for CS2 was arrested.  Then they sent me here to help.  Does anyone have advice?

  What exactly did you download?  This should be the right file: PhSp_CS2_English.exe

  Now, SERIALNUMBER has been removed from the msi properties table.

  Is it possible to have a solution for this other than the registration of import reg file?

  This issue has a lot of visibility with the devs, and we are working on implementing this properly in my computer.  For 8.0.1 users are able to configure shortcuts, port pass, serial key and persist / remove settings from the workstation through the command line, but we still have more work to do.  Still, some settings do not work and are not passed through. Currently INSTALLDIR and the features of REMOVAL does not work.

  But, you can indeed install w / serial number in the installation in silent mode starts now with Workstation 8.0.1.

  The default location and the file stored in the serial number for Fusion 2 is: "/ Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/license.fusion.site.6.0.200610" so you can use this information to locate in the TM backup.

• VMware Server 2.0 - number of concurrent VM

  I used VMware products for more than 5 years.  I'm a VMware ESX V3.5 Administrator experienced in a large corporate environment.  I used VMware Server very sparingly in recent years.  I have a supplier who provides consultation services to my organization.  Currently, we organize various configurations of virtual machines on our farm of ESX V3.5.  Due to performance issues, access our ESX environment (located in the United States) from their offices (in Europe), they propose bringing a VMware Server to host virtual machines in their offices.  Their proposed hardware configuration is a Server Windows 2003 R2 64 bit on top of two processors / 4 core server with 32 GB of RAM.  All customers would be Windows XP/VISTA/2003/2008.  They are suggesting that they could run 40 simultaneous virtual machines.  I know that the number of competitors in virtual machines depends on how they use them, but 40 looks like an extremely high number.

  Can anyone other hand some opinions on what they feel would be a reasonable amount of virtual machines you can run on the proposed hardware platform?

  My experience with VMware Server (on a Windows host), it's that performance degraded significantly when vCPU/pCPU approach 2.  I have actually started a thread on this particular issue and is still working on a resolution:

• Find my host PID of virtual machines VMware Server 2.0

  Hello!

  With VMware Server 1.x, it was easy for me to find which machine used what PID. I just had to connect to the web interface of VMware Server and voila I could see my names of virtual machines and their respective PIDs.

  Now with VMware Server 2 I can't find anywhere them in the web console of VMware!

  Instead I use Process Explorer (and market - I find that PID is related to computer)...

  Anyone has any idea where I can get this info quickly in VMware software/console/whatever?

• VMware server 2 netwok number on host

  Hi all

  I am running 64 bit vista ultimate version and installed vmware server 2.0.2

  I have 2 NICs (marvell yukon) aboard and tried to install several (3com and realtek) pci cards

  When I want to create a VLAN I can't change anything in the virtual network. The 'ok' button is grayed out.

  also, I don't see my adapters from the host network interface cards.

  Is this normal? I can do anything to see my network adapters on the host?

  Or that the network card is taken in charge by vmware server 2?

  The fact that the checkbox to disable automatic bypass is grayed out is almost certainly because the user running the program vmnetcfg.exe has no administrative rights - you have UAC active? If I run vmnetcfg.exe on Vista with UAC enabled, it is not automatically request elevation. Do you have the same problem if you right-click on it and select "Run as Administrator"?
