  • Alert security Windows Vista - presentation are more recognized

Since 3 days when I turn on my computer, I see the shield red/white X of Windows security alert in the notification area of the taskbar (lower right corner).  When I click on the alert, the message under Protection Malware says: The Shield Deluxe 2009 Antivirus (installed since 6/09) is on, but its status as a statement to the security of Windows in a format that is no longer recognized.   I have rcv automatic updates of Windows and the latest definitions for Defender are installed (KB915597 definition installed on 04/02/10 1.75.377.0 & definition installed on 08/02/10 1.75.517.0.  The Shield Deluxe is auto-updated on a daily basis as well.  I got an alert from Sun Java Update for more than a week now.  Thinking that this might solve the problem, the latest version this AM and restarted.  Always had Windows Security Alert.  The only other thing different I did was run a utility of IYogi - registry cleaner.  An overview of this greatly appreciated glitch!

After having experienced the same message with the Shield Deluxe on my PC, I called the support staff of the shield. They said not to worry about this.
The problem is caused by an update by which Vista Security Center does not recognize the shield. If the alert message gets on my nerves
You can turn it off. I don't remember exactly how I did it, but I think it's somewhere in the Windows Security window, where it says "change how Security Center alerts me". Your computer is always protected.

Windows Vista security alert sending indicating virus attack and does not allow me to get security alerts.  How to bypass or disable?  I have another anti-spyware (Kapersky) program that manages all aspects and indicates no virus found.

I want to disable Vista, but it won't let me and the only solution it says is to download a update for a cost.  Help, please.

The 'alert' is not from Vista. Your computer is infected by a rogue security program. It's called "thugs" because he pretended to be a good guy but is really bad. Don't pay them!

Malwarebytes' Anti-malware (MBAM) or SuperAntiSpyware will often do the job. Both have free versions and you don't need to buy these programs.

These can work for you, and all can be good. However, in many cases the computer will also infected with other horses of Trojan and protected by a rootkit. These machines are extremely difficult to clean. If your machine is one of these cases, either the interactive assistance to one of the specialty forums listed in the link below, OR take your machine to a professional on the local computer OR backup your data and do a clean install of Windows. It's your choice. I do not recommend using BigComputerStore/GeekSquad types of places.

If that were the case, the test free Norton or McAfee have been re-installed, but not valid, when you reinstalled Windows. If this is the case, you MUST uninstall the free trial AND download/run a specific removal tool & restart BEFORE you install updates or Service Packs and upgrades of IE AND BEFORE installing your new antivirus application (for example, BitDefender).
