Alienware 15 - R1, question of CDM

Anyone know which version the CDM is listed at the back of the R1-15?  What is the resolution max/regeneration, he takes in charge?  I searched on the internet and not even the spec Dell sheet really gives the answer.

Using a CDM to adapter HDMI 2.0 by UpTAB, I was able to get 4K 60 Hz on my Samsung TV on my R1 A15 - I had to create a profile of resolution in the pilot Panel Intel to use a different default folder calendar - had to use CVT - RB - but I was able to run at 60!

  • Alienware 17 fan question

Hello! I bought an Alienware 17 and had yesterday. I am extremely satisfied! I love this system! Although one must get used to the new user of Windows 8 interface, I really like my time using the Alienware. However, I have a question about fans...

While using the laptop for heavy tasks, I think air broadcast by the fan on the left and not the right because I spent $3,000 on this laptop, I want to make sure everything is in good working condition. I was wondering if this is normal or if it is a malfunction of my hardware. I have not yet garguillo on this for more than ten minutes directly, but still when the left fan is turned on, the right is not. I didn't know the good fan fan the air once again yet! So I was wondering if the right fan turns on automatically after there is a certain amount of load on the processors or if it is a real problem.

    Please answer quickly please!

Here is my solution. Read all about it.

In my opinion, Alienware laptop computers are skewed when it comes to their fan profiles. It's just like that, I'm afraid, but there is a way around. Like you, I bought my laptop (M17x-R4) fans has worked, kicking in full power when I played the games. But now they have not. Who knows why. But in any case, the solution is to download speedfan NOT fan control software. Download Hwinfo. The updated link here.

Then you can control two fans at the same time (you can't control them separately). I'm able to put my fans at 5000 RPM. First, you open the program, click "sensors", and then at the bottom are a small fan icon. Click and you can control your fans. Choose a speed, then click the 'manual' button that will set the speed. If you want to return to normal, click «auto system»

Now, here's the problem. It all seems too good and easy, well it's because theres more than that. some laptops like mine, stops when you play a game and the fans are controlled by this program. but there is a difficulty. You must go to 'program' then 'settings' in the 'security' tab you uncheck the box 'Support' and then you have no more accidents. But what makes Community aid, it allows you to change auto manual system fans. when its not checked, you can not pass, then set the manual speed first, then uncheck THIS support and're you good to go. If you want to restore auto system, check the Community aid, and then select auto system again.

That's all! Fixed. Now, you need to be wary of your temperatures, if I put my fans too weak such as 3000 or same 4400 my CPU was running hot enough, but this average time for me are usually in the 90s when you're stressed anyway.

  • Alienware R4 upgrade question

Hi, I currently have a R4 Alienware with a block of POWER 875 w.  It currently houses 2 Nvidia® Geforce 780 GTX cards in SLI configuration.

I'm willing to spend to a configuration of the Nvidia GeForce GTX SLI 980 instead and had a few quick questions if there are experts out there.

    (1) this power supply will be sufficient for the upgrade?

    (2) according to the card, I noticed my existing cards use 1 x 8 and 1 x 6-pin PCI-e power connectors for.  The new maps I was looking for to use 2 x 8 pins.  I'd be able to simply buy 2 x 6-pin to 8 pin adapters to compensate for this, or are there other aspects?

    (3) I'd be too worried about the new cards not being is not able to adapt?  I know that Dell configurations are usually the owners so I was worried if they voluntarily limit the size of the box to allow only a very limited number of the upgrade.

    Thank you very much!

    1. Yes.

    2. If you have not enough 8 pins, you can get a 6 pin adapter 8 pin or get a 8 pin cable. So roughly, adapters should work.

3 depends on how long are the GPU. Double of the 780s GTX déparerait here, so I don't see why the years 980 double cannot.

You can bind us what GPU you are wanting to get?

  • Thermal control of Alienware x 51 Question screen

I have an alienware X 51 R3 and have installed a GTX 1016 6 GB, everything works fine with no problem, but when I do upwards of the Alienware thermal control screen the GPU fan always indicates 0%. How can I check to make sure everything is cool with the video card and sound fan?

After several videos on UTUBE and benchmark.fr. I was able to get the GPU more than 60 degrees and the fan kicks on as designed. I'll be here all night. 8)

  • Alienware x 51 questions, Please Help

Until recently my alienware x 51 has been upward. It works with moderation but it randomly crahses now and in a loot of restart where it tries to start once and turns off beeps and keeps going

a feedback? IM at a loss here is only a little over a year

You will probably get a better response if you re - post it in the forum of the Club of Alienware . Don't forget to include details including the version of Windows, etc.

You hear a beep: card system: BIOS ROM failure

Then you could try to clear the BIOS by removing the battery of card mother and power button press/hold for about 30 seconds before installing a new battery.

Always turn off, unplug and press/hold power button for about 15 seconds before opening the case.

  • ALienware Alpha - controller question

I just got my Alienware Alpha from Friday, rather than go through the console mode with the controller provided instead, I plugged a mouse & keyboard & entered into mode of office since the beginning. Now my 360 controller acts as a mouse & controller at the same time. I looked around & apparently because I jumped mode console, I can not disable the mouse for the controller option. I tried to not uninstall Alpha Command Center because apparently it worked for someone else, I had no luck however.

    Thank you, in advance.

    Hello

I did something similar when I arrived at Alpha.  Since then, I came to the conclusion that it is not a good idea to remove the Alpha user interface (or all alpha software), but it is a good compromise.

I suggest that you re-install Center Alpha UI/order - do not know if this is possible - otherwise you will need to restore your Alpha to factory settings and start over (I had to do that!).  I hope it won't be too bad as you only Friday.

You will need to connect to the interface user Alpha a couple of times and make updates.  There are at least two updates that fixes the controller and also graphic problems too.  You can only do these updates with the Alpha user interface, so it is important to keep for other updates.

Now, on to the solution.  This allows to boot directly to Windows rather than load the interface user of Alpha.

    Log in desktop mode.

-Open a window (command) in now the Windows key and press R

-In the run box type: netplwiz

    - This opens a window of parameters of user accounts.  Check the box "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer".

    -Click OK.

Once you have done what the above, your alpha will start as a normal Windows PC, so you can choose which user account to log (Alpha UI or Windows desktop), and it will default to the last used.  The startup time is much faster, but it will ask you to enter your password as a normal PC Windows.

The only problem I found is that, after that a Windows update the controller no longer works.  I suspect that this is because Windows is a full stop and restart after the update instead of using the quick start that she normally does.  All you need to do in this case is to connect to the interface user Alpha once again, and then disconnect you, then back to your Windows account.  This will fix it until the next Windows update in this case, you simply do the same thing again!

I hope this helps.  I've been running with this configuration for a few months and it worked fine.

  • Repost - Alienware x 51 Question upgrade video card

Sorry for spam... Accidentally, I posted in the dell forums.

    Hello world

So, with cars of which will be released in March I thought to upgrade the video card in my Alienware X 51.  Unfortunately, I get some conflicting signals that I perform an Internet search on what cards will and work habit.  I'll definitely with Nvidea but where the concern comes is food.  My pc has a 330w power supply and I want to make sure that everything I buy will work correctly on this subject.  Also, there is a bit of a problem of space because I think that video cards up to 9.5 inches fits.  Correct me if I'm wrong on either, but I was wondering if you may be able to offer a video card for me.  I'm looking in the high-end 400.00.  Any help would be great!

    If it helps I currently GTX 555, i7-3770 w / 16 GB of ram, windows 7

Correction: you must have a 330w PSU to run a high range GPU, and you should have a power supply r2 card to launch the GTX 900 series (I hope not for the GTX 960, though).

R2 Power Board can be installed together with a card mother r1.

  • (Redirected) Speakers with an Alienware Area 51

I had crazy computer problems lately. A few friends put in place a computer for me and there were a lot of problems that I won't detail here, but it culminated with the motherboard is fried when I plugged in the speakers.  I finally gave up with home-built computer and ordered an Alienware Area 51 with a 1500w power supply. However, I am relics afraid to connect the speakers for fear of frying another card mother, though everyone tells me that what has happened is a stroke of luck and the other motherboard was faulty.  Right now I use a computer + 7 years, I had in the closet and the speakers work fine with it, and they also worked in my old computer, which was also an Alienware. My question is, is it possible that the speakers might be 'too powerful' or 'too high a power' to work on the computer that is on the right track? The speakers say they are 120-240 v, but I don't know how powerful they are. My future computer has a 1500w PSU and two GTX 970 graphics cards, but it seems that there should be a lot of power for speakers. Am I paranoid? Has anyone had the motherboard is fried by plugging in speakers?

  • Alienware 17 R3 graphics amplifier Question

I have the latest Alienware 17 R3 with an i7-6820, 16 GB of RAM and GTX 980 M 8 GB GTX. Had this laptop about a month now

My question is, is compatible with my laptop being 17 R3 amplifier because the website says just 17 R2 and it be worth to buy me one and put an office 980 m 4 GB in there. I see a massive difference in performance and the framerate to run games on ultra settings?

To spend another £150 on an amplifier and then another £300 odd or so on a GTX I need to know is - this useful

    Hello

The graphics of Alienware amplifier is certainly compatible with your Alienware 17 R3. The unit should have the port for her on the back, right next to the HDMI port.

About the video card GTX 980, if compared with the GTX 980 m, which is the best you can get on the laptop, the GTX 980 is a better choice. If you wish, you can check the comparison between the two of them here.

  • Finally saved enough money to buy the Alienware graphics amp and an AMD R290X but a Question?

This card will fit into the amp of Alienware? http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16814202145

I've already ordered two and didn't realize until after if this particular R290X would hold or not. Also, I noticed this card supports 2 x 8 pin connectors the PSU has it?

    Hi S7N,.

Ideally, the amplifier is designed to adapt to any of amd or nvidia graphics card - except the AMD Radeon R9 295 x 2. This is confirmed by digital trends - you can learn more about this link - http://bit.ly/1GScWtm

According to our marketing site - it includes the use of R9 290 x - check the link - http://dell.to/1CdGVzl

And power connectors - you can find the relevant info - download and view the user guide - http://dell.to/1gXUdYC

  • Alienware Area 51 ALX difficult questions of car upgrade

Hi all!  I have an area 51 alx from ~ 2010 with a card mother stock.  I'm looking to replace the disks accompanying with a Samsung 850 Evo SSD.  SSD SATA3 and I'm fairly certain that the parent stock on my machine has only SATA 2 correct slots? My question is what can I do so that I'm not headed by the limit of 300 MB/s, which comes with 2 SATA?  What are my options?  I am currently struggling to get CC working in another thread on this forum (can be a hardware problem) and so a card mother update isn't out of the question.

I've added a section at the bottom of this post. Hope that helps or who gets at least help you get started in the right direction.

  • Alienware 17 i7 4710hq Turbo question

    Hello

I just got a laptop Alienware 17. Specifications are:

    i4710hq

    gtx980m

    16 gig RAM

    Windows 8

    1 tb + 128 SSD

My question is about the process of turbo and how its active or if I allow it. I have done a ton of research about this, but can't seem to find a solid answer.

    . The i7 4710hq lies 2.4 Ghz (goes to 3.5 If Turbo).

. With the graphics of Alienware amplifier it automatically gets boosted at the coast of 3.5. I opted not to buy it because of the budget at the time.

. According to intels Internet, wiki and a few other tech forums, I've met. 4710hq i7 will stimulate automatically itself at or near the 3.5 as appropriate.

Under the BIOS settings he has shown to turbo whenever a graphics amplifier is connected and showed a specific set of options related to the graphicis amplifier. But it only shows the turbo for the amplifier of graphics options.

Just below those set of options mentions an option for overclocking of Intel processor on the route and it sees that it is . Do I need to activate this for in order for the Turbo to be active? Or is it something different entirely?

    Thank you

From my experience, it should list differently.  There should be a selection to turn the Turbo Boost feature in the BIOS.  Here is the site for manuals online:

I didn't know that Turbo Boost listed anywhere in the BIOS setting in the section of the manual.  Who said to me that either A. Its automatic and you can't turn it off (thus it is not in the BIOS) or b. His disability is permanent unless you get the amplifier, but that would make no sense for me.  I hope that someone else might have a better answer?

  • (Redirected) A few questions about Alienware Alpha, didn't know where to ask sorry.

Hi, I was watching and thinking about buying an alienware alpha, but I had a few 1 questions that I can't find any info on. So could someone please help.

1st question and that is my main I need to know, can I run Ventrilo on it and play all the games at the same time or would I still need a laptop to use ventrilo to chat with friends?

2nd video of question 1, I saw said that I could run non-steam game, is it true? I will mainly play steam games, but I want to just make sure I could still run games as League of legends and perhaps The Elder Scrolls online because he is going to play soon from what I've heard.

3rd question and sorry about that one, but I don't know much about computers so I need to ask. I see that $700 and $850 versions have higher processors makes this mean for games? Also they have more big disks hard, it's just the space right storage? Sorry for this question, that I just want to ask before you buy

Please any info on these 3 questions would be useful :) Thanks in advance.

  • the upgrade of my Alienware m18x r2 RAPIDS Questions

    Hello yall I have some quick questions. My system is a gtx win8 - 675 m i7-3630qm Alienware m18x r2.

I read that the 3840qm and the 3920xm are very similar and the price level for the 3920xm is not worth for an upgrade if money is a problem.

In this spirit I think to go with the 3840qm, I just need to make sure that I have not upgraded the heat sink or the power supply if you choose the 3840qm.

the next question is I'm tempted with going with the 3920xm only if I don't have to upgrade the PSU and the radiator, so I have to upgrade the PSU and the radiator?

last question is after I or until I update my cpu do I need to uninstall or install anything?

You can use the same any CPU heatsink upgrade you.

For the i7 3840QM that you don't need to upgrade to the power adapter, you should be fine if you have the 240W.
