All of a sudden I get a pop-up for "XP Internet Security 2012 - out Version.
Yes, "Unregistered" are badly spelled. Is it a hoax? Windows XP won't let me access internet more because it believes that my computer is infected. I run my McAfee virus scan and it does not detect anything. Only the user accounts on my computer is affected. The popups want 'register me' XP Security, but I'm reluctant to do. He did a 'scan' and shows me 27 virus. None of them is found when I run McAfee scan. Any thoughts?
You're infected with a fake security application. See these detailed removal instructions:

Unregistered means you have not paid the still for their junkware.

My HP LaserJet P1505n, connected by an Ethertnet to my LAN, has worked flawlessly for the past three years. The last time that I shot it, he could not get an IP by DHCP. I checked by printing a self-test page. The IP address is 0.0.0.0. I looked at the page self test three years ago and I saw that the IP address is 192.168.0.100.
No recent changes have been made to my network. I checked the Ethernet cable and connect to my router were very well by changing the Ethernet cable with a laptop. The laptop worked with two cables and connections while the printer did not work with a configuration.
Suggestions (not to mention that trying to deal with HP support - a catastrophe) would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much for your timely response. This morning, the problem itself. I have a few computers on the network. The two I tried to print from, running WIN XP and the other running Ubuntu Linux. When any printed a test page, I checked the list of DHCP clients on my router Belkin (unknown model) and found that the printer was not present. It is while I printed the test page and found the IP 0.0.0.0. That was the case Saturday last until last night. This morning, I checked the list of DHCP clients again and the printer (miraculously?) appears in the list. I left the system all night and can't explain why she came back the printer works normally on computers and operating systems. To answer your other questions, all the lights on the printer and the router seemed to be turned on normally throughout this whole ordeal. On the printer, the green light was on and the amber light flashes occasionally. It is another mystery that me baffled. Finally, when I swapped the Ethernet cable, it's the printer not on the router. Who's going to change the port on the router. No configuration has been working on the printer; However, the two worked using my laptop. I was not looking for a hard reset as you suggest. I turned only the printer works without having cut the power. If the problem recurs, it will be the first thing to try. Thanks again for your response. If you have other thoughts, I'd love to hear them. My wife has managed to pick up a HP Deskjet 3050 to a market with no documentation. I'll try to install it on my system very soon. I may come back to this forum. Finally, I withdraw my comment about the HP support. I'm pleasantly surprised that an employee of HP replied.

updates will not download all of a sudden. Get the error 800b0100 codes & 80073712
The AMD 965 new Windows 7 computer and updates worked and now since 3 days I have been troubleshooting these two codes 800b0100 & 80073712. I downloaded all the patches from microsoft tells me and still no success. McAfee said the reason why my subscription will not download onto the computer is I need these updates, so my system is not protected. I was on google, microsoft and other places. I hope someone on this website can help. Microsoft is not responding to my trouble ticket, as they said they would (within 24 hours).
You receive the error code "0 x 80073712" when you try to use Windows Update http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931712>
If you receive Windows Update error 800b0100, it means that a file needed by Windows Update is corrupted or missing. System update readiness tool can correct some conditions that can cause this error. To use the tool, follow these steps:
1. go to the System Update Readiness Tool http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=947821Web page >. Under the "Advanced information for users" section, find the Windows edition and the system type of your computer, and then click the link to download the system update readiness tool. To find your edition of Windows, see view your computer information http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/View-your-computer-information>.
Reset
2. run Windows Update again.
