• CTRL left Shift, right Shift Ctrl shortcuts broken into GMail compose box

• .lnk .exe and all shortcuts do not connect

  All of a sudden all the links (.lnk) seem to have disappeared.  I use XP, service pack 3.  None of the programs in my Start Menu to connect.  RUN the command (in the start menu) does not do anything.  This is true in normal mode and safe.  Everything I click on a message "to open this file, Windows needs to know what kind of program has created.  Windows can get... online, or you can manually select from a list. "I was able to open a.   I solved the problem

  I backed up all my files.  I took my OS xp instalation disk, ran together upward on the repair mode.   He out got me back of Service pack 3 to Service pack 2, but all my files and programs emerged intact.  Then I did the Microsoft Update until I was current.  I did have to use the backed up files.

  Try to remove the icons in Safe Mode.

  1. Restart your computer and immediately press the F8 key until you reach the menu Advanced Boot Options.
  2. Select Safe Mode.

• All sounds broken on Vista 32 bit after update Flash

  I am a technician working remotely on a 32-bit computer to Vista with SoundBlaster X - Fi Audio extreme. Flash player updated automatically throughout the night in version 11.3.300.271. No sound does this morning, including Windows Media Player, IE, Chrome, etc.

  We used Flash uninstaller and then tried to play a sound on Windows Media player. Still no sound.

  We have reinstalled the latest version of Flash Player. It installs without problem, but it still does not work.

  We checked the event viewer. There are no related events. We checked the Device Manager. There is no missing drivers. We checked the volume controls, they are all very well, the value of the correct audio output and speakers, volume to their max now, levels etc.

  Any ideas?

  It turns out, somehow, I thought it would be, as it was a user error. Their speakers were disconnected.

  I asked the user if they tried to headphones and they said yes. I suspect that they plugged the headphones on the speakers that is not helping solve the problem.

  I use Windows 7. All shourtcuts and folders on my desktop and task bar disappeared except for five on the desktop. These five still on the desk are 'My Documents', 'Computer', 'Network', 'Trash' and 'Control Panel'. I can't create a shortcut or a folder on my desktop or in the taskbar. When I try to drag a program, the shortcut of folderor to one of these places, they disappear.  I can't even pin desktop programs or Windows Explorer it. Can someone, please.

• HP Officejet 4630: HP Officejet 4630 than all the shortcuts to print are locked

  The printer is new and is connected via the USB port on the computer that is running a new copy of Windows 10 x 64 ('fees': I've upgraded to Windows 10 and reset the computer). The driver is from the OJ4630_Basicx64_198.exe file (so just basic pilot). I can scan and I can print a diagnostic page, but I can't print anything else. All shortcuts printing have symbols locked beside them (please see attachment).

  I down loaded a wiget google today and subsequently, I have experienced this problem. All my programs and all shortcuts are availble by Explorer and open the folder deshtop. They work very well, but the computer screen does not display them. When I opened the they seem normal, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the monitor. When I try to drag or send to, or save, I get a message that says that they cannot be sent to their current location. The computer knows that they are in the file offers / office but don't show them on the screen. I have add / remove programs but no change. I sent a file that was in a different place and it went in the desktop folder but not on the screen. It's like there's a toggle to see the show/don ' t somewhere. There is no corruption in the programs or files. Thank you for any advise you can give.

  Attached to this day! I was able to run the restore and the date prior to the event. Only problem was Norton, I had to uninstall and re-installed but now works perfectly!

  When I look at the table of file extensions, I see a prticular program indicated, and this program is the program that starts when I click any shortcut.  I see no way to change this so that when I click on Internet Explorer, for example, Internet Explorer sometimes instead of the wrong program.

  I had the same problem. I solved it by downloading http://www.creativelement.com/powertools/ and then running the program (from the directory, because none of my shortcuts working) "file Type doctor." When I chose ".lnk" in the list of extensions, he said in the Actions in the right click Menu:
  "(ignorer le choix utilisateur) ' in red and"
  "Open".
  I then removed the "(utilisateur choix override) ' and that's it." All shortcuts worked once again, just as they did.

• Since this morning, shortcut desktop Firefox will not open unless Firefox was already open...

  Aaaaahhhhh - yesterday, everything was fine. Nothing seemed to be a problem. This morning I'm on my laptop to read my emails as usual, a shortcut icon on the desktop for Yahoo, and it does not open. Then I tried several other shortcuts office linking to Firefox and none of them is open. The only shortcut that works is the Firefox that brings me to my home page. Once it is open, then my shortcuts all work. What? I must say that I have others linking to Google Chrome desktop shortcuts, and they all work very well. What is the problem with Firefox that I now already have it open to allow my shortcuts to open? It is so annoying not being able to just to open things directly from the desktop. I tried to delete all shortcuts and reapply them. It does not help. Anyone got any ideas? Thank you

  Just checked the other shortcuts and they have now all seems to be a new behavior - I guess I had a fleeting event on my hands!
