All sounds are distorted

When all the sounds played on my computer (including the music sounds and system), it is very distorted (slope is lower than we should, everything sounds deaf and there is some static).  The sound used to work properly and then everything just stopped.  I had a technician look at the computer, and he believes that the problem is in Vista.
I have:
-verified it is not related to the volume
-updated drivers
-checked everything is correctly connected and powered of cables without any effect
-with the help of a map different sound without any problem.

In addition, Microsoft Automated Troubleshooting found no problem.

Any suggestions on what might be wrong/how to fix this problem?

Not the HD under Sound driver is the default Windows and that is your problem. When you run updated my drivers in Device Manager there that MS Certified those and they are very old.

In the Panel configuration - AFTER the watch below all icon names to see all named something like Manager Audio (brand name) or similar, the setting and the sound in the sound icon should be checked. (You can not now because of default drivers installed.)

Go to system manufacturer and download and install the latest sound drivers. Check site of the manufacturer of the device after the most recent installation the manufacturer of system... This also gives you a rear roller if necessary. (Manufacturers of system also does not update driver often once they sell is no longer this computer model.)

If you need help more than your computer manufacturer and model ALL possible information on the driver listed under SOUND in Device Manager - driver tab.

Download and install mp3Tag. If your mp3 tags are corrupt in some way, you can re-do using this tool.

To help you, it can also tag batch (for things like album art, title of the album, artist, etc.)
It won't affect any DVD, they are a different format.
In addition, run your antivirus and download then run Malwarebytes Anti Malware.

    Please help solve this problem.

Hello RPrasad, welcome to the Forums of HP.

I see that you have a problem with the sound in your headphones with your laptop. I will try to help you with this.

Have you tried another headset to see if the problem occurs from there also? It is preferable to exclude the logical hardware first.

If the problem does not form several headphones so I suggest to start with this document: audio speakers (Windows 8) No. (the steps can be applied to any sound problem)

If this fails to solve the problem, as your not sure of any changes made to the laptop. Your next option would be to do a system refresh. This document can help you on how to do it: Refresh Your PC to solve problems (Windows 8).

I'll leave you with this, I would like to know how it goes for you.
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.

    1. right click the icon of speaker near right lower clock - peripheral of reading

Highlight speakers - properties (right same low page) - tab improvements - check Disable all sound effects
    Apply - OK

    2. check the configuration - Device Manager - sound, video and game controller

Note name and complete model of the audio device - full decription - now double click it.
Driver tab - notice the driver version. Then click on set to update driver (maybe nothing like MS is far
behind the pilots of certification). Then right CLICK on the device - UNINSTALL - REBOOT - it will refresh
    the driver stack.

Now go to system Maker and look for the updated drivers (or get the same if no new) it will be
your rescue. Download - SAVE - go to where you put it-RIGHT click in it - RUN AS ADMIN

Then do the same for the manufacturer of the device (like Realtek or who made the device).

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • After starting hearing sound becomes distorted (sample rate problem?)

    Hello!!

Just when I start the program (Audition 2), I noticed that all the sounds that play inside or outside the program are distorted. He

kind is sound that occurs during playback of a file to the frequency of sampling, kind of digital noise.

When I stop the program and start any sound or a mp3 file on the computer, he continues to play distorted. It happened immediately and did not have before.

I have Windows XP. The audio driver is "Soundmax Digital Audio". The audio driver is "Audition Windows Sound".

At the hearing, in the Control Panel, hardware Audio Setup, "directsound output ports" are defined Soundmax Digital Audio with the size of buffer 2048; audio channels: 2 ; Bits per sample: 16. Said of the driver properties: 44100 Hz sampling frequency of; clock source internal, samples of size 2048 buffer

There is no problem with my drivers or anything. I have no idea why this has happened.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I hope it's a sort of hearing that must be adjusted.

I had this happen when I used a card firewire motu back in the day.   It worked fine for a few days and all the sudd

  • Sound weird distortion on Export - Newbie question not the Compression

    I'm trying the demo Flash CS3 - OSX. (Using OS x 10.4.10.)

I have a timeline a bit complicated with about 8 layers and some alpha fading things and out and a lot of sound samples used as sound effects timeline (forget the term, but attached to the frames don't not streaming). No script writing.

The sounds are too long most for the amount of time allotted to them in the timeline and cut the previous sounds. I speculate that this could be a possible problem. In other words, I said 5 second sound, which has only 3 seconds of time to play, before another sound, he interrupts in the same layer of the timeline.

There are two distinct layers of the sound at the same time.

All original sounds are imported into the film as erroneous 44.1/16 bits. What are mono files (could be another possible problem).

I'm trying to export with 128 k MP3 quality. I tried different variations:

-the compression setting for audio files in the library/setting film export settings to use the settings of the library

-definition of the audio files in the library to use 'default compression' and specifying the correct setting of MP3 128 k in the export settings

    - or both of them (individually defined in the library and then overridden in export settings).

I tried with and without the 'single use' parameter (both in the library files and export settings). (This is a question for me: what should be set properly so that when the original file is already mono?)

Sometimes, everything is great. I have test or export the movie and the sound is fine.

Other times I test or export the movie - with exactly the same audio as the last time when it worked - and now get a hissing/cracking sound unbearably ugly instead of the correct sound.

More dangerously - I think but did not quite convince myself - the same export flash file can sometimes play end and sometimes play with the distortion. So I'm not sure if it's a question of export, Flash player problem or combination of export do something semi-bizarre that the player sometimes only chokes on. A 'bad' export is distorted in the desktop Flash Player that comes with the Flash demo, both in a browser with the Flash 9 r45 (OSX) plugin.

    GUH!

What is the product of $800 which is little more than a Basic for the script text editor and an animation timeline that did not feature update since 1999.

For someone else to do this...

It is looking like it is a bug of Flash CS3 app.

The app is intermittently lose range of the sound/document library settings or just chokes sometimes MP3 Converter trying to convert AIFF to MP3 files on the export of the film.

Fortunately, it looks like once a .swf movie is exported, it will be distorted or not and is not a problem of random play or player.

So you can just export several times until you get a 'good' (!).

I've only got with export MP3 128 k, never with 64 k MP3 to export. For 128K, it seems that fiddling with the sound settings before trying to export can prevent distortion. My best results seem to be:

-all the wrong in the library, the value 'default - compression.

-Publish settings of ' event Audio: MP3, 128kpbs, Mono; Substitute uncontrolled sound settings

    Hi, can anyone help?

My Satellite A80 seems to have lost all sound. When I open the audio program I get a message saying that no device found? I had her before without problem?

If you are able to help at all, I would be very grateful. My email address is [email protected].

    Thank you.

First of all, you should try to remove you sound driver should and then reinstall again.

On the Toshiba page, you will find the compatible driver.

The question remains then you should recover the laptop with the Toshiba Recovery CD.

Usually, if your notebook malfunction s material doesn t then a recovery CD should solve this problem.
Otherwise, the hardware may be faulty and the laptop everything should be checked by technicians.

  • Satellite P200D - 11L sound problem - sound gets distorted

    Hello!
I bought a Satellite P200D - 11L a couple of weeks and when I got it sound was perfect.
There was good amount of bass and distortion-free when I turned the volume to 100%. Harman/kardon speakers are cool :) But now the sound is distorted. It started week ago.

When I try to listen to music (in windows media player and winamp, there is no difference) it is very distorted through the laptop speakers, but on my helmet, it is good. Also, same song/songs are normal on my desktop PC.
I don't know what the problem is so please help. I tried to restore windows with Toshiba product recovery disc but same problem is still there. If the speakers are in some way damaged, because on my sound headset is OK? And Yes, I told you on my sound headset is OK, but it is a little bit different than it was when I got the laptop...

When I got laptop sound had more bass, but now when this problem occurred, its also a less serious (bass is almost imperceptible).

    Hi mate,

  • Music and sounds are coming through too fast and too sharp.

Music and sounds are coming in my treble speakers too much and too fast. Looks like Alvin and the chipmunks. It happens on all sounds from a CD or the Internet. All diagnostics check out OK. It's Windows XP. Any ideas how to adjust the sound quality?

    Hello Jcbrewer,

Thank you for your message.  Take a look at the information below which I copied from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/mediaadvice/0067.mspx.
Why my music sounds like chipmunks sing?

Don't worry, little domestic rodents in Windows Media Player is not configured. Instead, the clock of your soundcard probably has a timing problem. To resolve this issue, try to reduce the level of hardware acceleration for your sound card by following these steps:

    1.

In Control Panel, open sounds and Audio devices.

    2.

In the Volume , in the settings area of the speaker tab, click the Advanced button.

    3.

In the Advanced Audio properties dialog box, click the performance tab and adjust the hardware acceleration slider to adjust the calendar clock for your sound card.

Remember that, if your sound card supports multi-channel (5.1) audio playback, turn off hardware acceleration (moving the cursor of None) will cause the sound card to play all the audio multichannel stereo (two speakers).

If you can't solve the problem by adjusting hardware acceleration, you can check with the computer manufacturer for an updated audio driver.

Another possibility is that it could be a joke any.  You can perform a clean boot that will start the computer without programs 3rd party.  The steps are below:

    1. Click Startand then click run.
    2. Type msconfig in the Open box, and then click OK.
    3. On the general tab, click Selective startup.
    4. Under Selective startup, clear the following check boxes:
      • SYSTEM process. INI file
      • Process of VICTORY. INI file
      • Load Startup items
    5. Click the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click disable all.
    6. Click OK.
    7. When you are prompted, click restart.
    8. After the computer starts, start the program or game and see if the problem is resolved.
If the problem is resolved, you can check in Add/Remove programs to see if there are any suspicious software that needs to be removed.  You can also check your startup programs in MSCONFIG.  To access msconfig, click on 'Start' > select "Run" > Type msconfig in the box and click on enter.  You will see the Startup tab, you can check all suspicious programs start at startup and remove them.
    See you soon
