All Web sites go unresponsive

Original title: Web sites no longer responds

All the sites I am looking for tell me that they are insensitive, help please

Hi Debbie,.

Thanks for posting to the Microsoft Community.

According to the description, I understand that all sites do not respond.

1. what browser do you use to access Web sites?

2. did you of recent changes made to your computer before the show?

3. that you get an error message/code when you access Web sites?

4. have you checked if you have the internet connection?

Step 1: Check the connection for a Web site

a. press the Windows key + R

b. type CMD and press enter

c. Type Ping www.msn.com and press ENTER.  (There should be a space between Ping and URL)

d. Let me know what you see here.

Step 2: Follow the steps described in the links below if you are using Internet Explorer:

Solve Internet Explorer add-on problems when IE hangs or freezes

"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error in Internet Explorer

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/956196

Note 1: typical reset Internet Explorer settings can reset security settings or privacy settings that you have added to the list of Trusted Sites. Reset the Internet Explorer settings can also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the reset Internet Explorer settings.

Note 2: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Please follow these recommended steps, review the additional information provided and post back if you still have the problem. I'll be happy to provide you with additional options available that you can use to get this problem is solved.

  • How to prevent the FF loading all Web sites using the HTTPS protocol

FF is trying to load initially all Web sites using the HTTPS protocol, including of mozilla.org. Then I get the error of no reliable connection of course. Mozilla .org is the "invalid security certificate" and "the issuer of the certificate is unknown." I tried to delete the file cert8.db as suggested elsewhere but that did not help. If there is an option for this somewhere, I can't find it. I have the latest version of FF and Win7 running. Thanks for the help.

There must be some sites that are still using a secure connection, as http://www.amazon.com/. If even a link to Amazon is redirected, you can check if you have an extension like HTTPS Everywhere.

For Mozilla sites, Yes, you establish a secure connection.

But you shouldn't get certificate errors! When you get this for virtually all secure sites, the problem is usually as follows:

    (1) error of date, time, or time zone who throw checks validity of the certificates of your system. Sometimes allowing to use a timesource on the internet, the computers can introduce this problem.

    (2) not be set up to work with your security software that intercepts and filter secure connections from Firefox. Products with this feature include Avast, BitDefender, ESET, Kaspersky; AVG has a shield search function which can cause this error on search sites.

    (3) malicious software on your system for the interception of secure connections.

    So... who is?

If you have any of these specific security products, which would be the first thing to check. We might be able to help with specific next steps based on what you have if you tell us.

Alternatively, you can examine the certificate to which Firefox is opposed to see if the issuer information pointing to the culprit. Take for example my test page:

    https://jeffersonscher.com/RES/jstest.php

You should see a section "I understand the risks" in the page. If you expand this section, you will find a button Add Exception. You don't need to complete the process of adding an exception (I suggest not adding one until we know that it is not a problem of malware), but you can use the dialog box to display the information that makes Firefox suspicious.

Click Add an Exception, and then view. If the view is not enabled, try first the button get certificate. Then in the certificate Viewer, refer to the section "issued by". What do you find here, or under the hierarchy of certificates? I have attached a screenshot for comparison of screen.

  • In Firefox Library History all Web sites are displayed and no organized by days more

When I used to go to the story and click Show all history Web sites would be organized in folders that have been listed as today, yesterday, last week, last month etc. Now, all Web sites since the last time I erased from history are all crammed in there how to change this back have once again records?

I think it has changed recently. Maybe other people are complaining that they do not want to have to click to start the display of history, a date range, they have always wanted to see more recent history immediately?

  • Can I use family safety to allow all Web sites in the "public interest" and to block some specified Web sites?

I use Windows 8 and I want to create an account for the kids to use for homework.

It seems reasonable to allowing all Web sites in the category 'general interest '. I also want to block specific Web sites that I know can be distracting.

It seems that this should be easy. I just select the category of the "general interest" and also add sites to the blocked list. However, it gives me not the behavior I expect. I find that in the list of the blocked websites are accessible as usual.

Shouldn't this approach do I want? In the affirmative, please can you give some advice on why I see this problem.

    Thank you

I found the answer to my original problem - some products McAfee has also installed and was interfering with parental control.

Thank you for following it upwards. Unfortunately, certificates of do_not_trust could be a sign of unwanted software on your pc that is to intercept the secure network traffic. go to the system control panel and uninstall programs such as BrowserSafeguard, BrowserSafe, backup or other software that seems suspicious and did not get intentionally installed by you.

  • Why firefox started assuming that I ask a connection secure for all Web sites and disabled scripting and styling on those I can access?

Fortunately, I was a user of firefox for six months. After downloading the beta version, several "bad" things took place. Most web applications page (for example, using firefox, google.com) result in the message that I asked a secure connection and the site does not have a valid certificate. When I add this site to websites of exceptions, the loading of the page but only the HTML - no script styles none - not like the old days. In addition, after uninstalling (more clear all the personal data in the process) and to reinstall version 18, I get the same behavior more in the one case, I tried my ins journal for the wsj.comsubscriber site hang-likely problems of scripts. Furthermore, I could not access to this and previous pages of help while on firefox - this query uses the ie9 bad access.

Some firewalls monitor secure connections (https) and send their own certificate instead of the certificate of the Web site.

You can retrieve the certificate and check details such as WHO issued the certificates and the expiration dates of certificates.

    • Click on the link at the bottom of the error page: "I understand the risks".

Let Firefox recover the certificate: "Add Exception"-> "get certificate".

    • Click on the "view..." button. "and inspect the certificate and the Coachman, who is the sender.

You can see more details like the intermediate certificates that are used in the details pane.

Problem started after a power outage, and I can't fix the Internet Explorer Security page.

    Hey ToledoGenie,

Certificate errors occur when there is a problem with a certificate or the use of the certificate server. Internet Explorer can help keep your information secure by warning you about certificate errors.

    (1) don't you get the certificate error when you try to browse websites on the Internet or only a part of the specific sites.

    (2) what is the version of Internet Explorer you have?

You can check the version of Internet Explore by clicking Help > Internet Explorer in the Internet Explorer menu bar.

Here is a link that provides information about certificate errors and how to get rid of them:
