Allot of extra RAM for LabVIEW

Hi all

I'm out of memory trying to compile a great personality FPGA VI. LabVIEW generates an error and crashes when it reached the limit of 4 GB memory while generating intermediate files (specifically step 3/5). I have 8 GB of RAM installed on the laptop. I know that only 4 GB can be used by LV 32 bits, and it doesn't have a 64-bit version of LV FPGA. Does anyone have a solution or workaround for this? Decreasing again the size of my VI is not an option. I wonder if it is possible for compiling Xilnix itself of tools to access more memory?

Mitch

I don't think that would compile a project that includes only the FPGA VI. My project includes only the items that are needed to build the bitfile: DMA FIFO read & write, a global variable sub VI and two other sub screws, which are used in the FPGA VI. In my view, that a key issue, it's that it handles many groups that are up to 64 elements each. I took care not to include functions that take a lot of space on the FPGA, avoided constraint, etc., but the large paintings are an essential component.

Yes, the Xilnix program itself is short of memory. If I remember correcly, the compiler showed the error message "a Xilnix request has run out of memory...". "and he said that 4 GB of RAM has been reached.

I get to the conclusion that I have to wait for a 64-bit version of LabVIEW FPGA to be released (with a 64-bit compiler) to build the VI in the desired way.

It depends on your version and LV op bit (64 or 32and also your op Windows bit (32 64or)
but the answer for each of them is Yes but if you have a version lower than 8.6 Yes there is 2 gig for 32 and 4 for 64 bit LB

  • Extra RAM for Satellite L70-B-14Z

    Hello
I cannot find anywhere how to adapt the increase ram for my new Satellite L70-B-14z, am I to guess that this model should be returned to the Toshiba authorized service center?

We can just confirm that this model be OK to win 10 updated.

I'll take delivery of this unit this week.

Any help and advice will be great

    Tony

According to specification for laptop, your laptop can be upgraded up to 16 GB. Unfortunately your laptop isn't the cover of RAM in the bottom corner so the whole bottom cover needs to be removed and it must be done by the authorized service provider.

What about Win10? Win 10 support is not officially started, and now Toshiba offers no additional drivers for the upgrade. Anyway, you can download and install Win10 and test your machine, how it works.

Before doing this, create a recovery (DVD or USB) media. This recovery media, you can use if you want to install the original version of Windows that you have with your machine and that he put your laptop to factory settings.

  • Adding extra RAM for laptop HP Pavillion

I know that I can add 1 G more RAM for my HP dv6000 laptop which currently has 1 gig of RAM for a total of 2 G.  But since I upgraded the OS from Vista to Windows 7 with SP1 64-bit, clocked at 1.6 ghz, do I add even more to reach a total of 3 G or 4 G?   It seems that the limiting factor is the speed of 1.6 ghz.

It is a 2 GB max model with an AMD processor. You have meg modules 2 x 512, you need to throw it and buy 2 x 1 gig modules.

    This is what you need:

  • updated 32-bit to 64-bit vista if I can use the extra ram for FSX. but many download problems.

    Hello

I'm a nut FSX but have very IT limited knowledge. I wanted to achieve the best result for FSX (this 2 me not a game cos I can afford is more to fly the flat light where I 300hours and noticed a true likeness in fsx to plans I stole) so I bought the new PC i7/920 call t0 3.6 ghz. NVIDIA gtx285. 6 GB/ram/166 corsair.and installs 3 x monitor @22 inch with TrackIR 5.I thought I was going to enter Heaven FSX. However majority or all of the FSX CD I my system 32 bits do not appear in the installation of 100%. I appreciate the new way of loading FSX in 64-bit is different from 32-bit, etc.. My main complaint is I lose my GPS function on mission downloads and it's not good. I understand there is a way to increase the use of the ram for 32-bit (works 100%) where there has never been a problem, but seems very complicated. I currently use the resolution of 1980 but 3 screen in place will be allowed to 1680 etc.. HOW can I REACH 100% DOWNLOAD WITH 64 BIT as I can with 32 bits, which is limited to 3 GB of ram. Any FSX readers in addition to my download problems, what I need to have an incredible fast pc including 4 times cheaper than my cp very dear son. FSX is super super smooth with cadence to the max

    Hey booleyz,

Vista 64 bit is compatible with the game and you should get all the functions. When you download missions and if missing the GPS function, imply that there are no required files on the PC for the game. I suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the game once and see if it works.

You can also try to reduce the graphic details in the game Options.

  • Y at - it a clear indicator or a code to indicate if a stick of RAM is registered or unbuffered? I would like to know for sure before installing additional RAM for this Mac Pro (2013). Thank you in advance. David

    Hello, all:

Y at - it a clear indicator or a code to indicate if a stick of RAM is registered or unbuffered? I would like to know for sure before I add that extra RAM for the empty slots this Mac Pro (2013) that a 2 x 8 is installed.

    Thank you in advance.

The 4 and 8 GB sticks are not saved while the sticks of 16 and 32 GB are registered. As you seem to know, you can not mix registered and unregistered sticks. For example, you can only add 4 or 8 GB sticks to your present 8 GB sticks

  • Is there a decompiler for LABView v4 - v6

    Hello

One of our customers (pharmaceutical industry) has a LABView application compiled on Win98 + 10 years. The source code is not available, and it seems that no one knows what is under the hood. According to the dates of Win98, I expect to run a version of LABView between v4 and v6.

Is there a decompiler software, ways to look at the source code or to retrieve information of bases to start reverse engineering.

    Thanks for you answers!

The whole issue is a bit more complicated. Prior to LabVIEW 8.6 the internal resources of the executable was indeed an archive VI LabVIEW (LLB) and since LLBs didn't have a single hierarchy depth that is somewhat like a single directory. This caused trouble with the latest library LV based instruments as well as classes LVOOP drivers that uses the same name of VI, but with another library prefix each, so that LabVIEW had to move these files to directories external during the generation of executable files, to avoid name collisions.

In all new versions of LabVIEW, the internal executable resource in which the screws are stored is actually a default ZIP file. You can always force LabVIEW use a LLB format to store files, options by checking the 'use LabVIEW 8.x file layout' in the advanced compile options. Now the ZIP resource was initially stored as a simple ZIP to the format of data resources, and that caused some problems because most ZIP utilities simply analyzes a file for the header of the ZIP file and open it as such, even if the ZIP file resource is anywhere within the file, so that almost all ZIP tools could open an executable of LabVIEW. NEITHER changed this format: ZIP tools can recognize him either.

Now, yes you can look in the resource LLB and ZIP in the past (and still with a little extra effort) but before everyone screams oh "My precious IP is in the street" Please be aware that the only thing you can do for this resource is to obtain the names of VI and if you manage to load in the fall version of LabVIEW exactly just generic icons on a diagram to see the component connector. Unless of course you also check the "enable debugging" checkbox in the advanced build options, that leaves patterns and the frontpanels in the VIs and actually create something similar to a source distribution packaged.

So without activate debug compilation option, someone is actually not much more than what he can do by opening any binary DLL created from C, C++, or any public compiler with the tool of Microsoft dependence and MUCH MUCH less than what you can get in any just put such DLL through a disassembler.

And to my knowledge there isn't a disassembler as tool for LabVIEW VIs to date, and I would consider about 1 billion things more interesting to do than to try to create such a thing.

  • Renovated RAM for laptop? Notice please

I recently got a new laptop from Dell E4200 bright who was supposed to have 2 GB of RAM.  After a pleasant (but long!) call to Dell technical support, I received approval for an extra GB of RAM.  And that's the extra ram arrived in less than 24 hours!  I must say that I am very impressed overall with Dell Technical Support staff.  (Utah based.)

Here's my dilemma.  The "new" 1 GB of RAM has a bright orange tag on it saying "refurbished".  I'm not at all comfortable renovated Installing ram in a brand new computer.

Does anyone have comments and/or opinions?

I'm very grateful for any help you can provide.

  • MVware workstation may or may not use my extra RAM

Hi, I'm new to all of virtualization software and I hope someone can help me with this. I am currently looking to virtualize my current installation. I currently have a HP Pavilion a6352f desktop with processor AMD Phenom 9500 Quad-Core, 3 GB RAM, HDD 400 GB with Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit. What I want to know, is if I do my current vista install on a virtual machine, upgrade allows my RAM to 8 GB, install VMware Workstation on my current vista installation and run my VM in workstation can software work stations use the extra 4 GB RAM? I know already that Vista 32 bit can only use a maximum of 4 GB, but it is possible for the software Workstation use this another 4 GB available RAM? Any info is appreciated.

Workstation is an application that runs under Windows, so it can use the BONE is aware of.  In this case, you will need an operating system that is able to use the extra RAM.

    Good luck!

  • RAM for MacBook Pro

I'm using CS5 with a MacBook Pro with processor dual core 2.4 Ghz and 2 GB of ram.  When you use D7 RAW files, the computer goes very slow.   I need a new computer or an upgrade of ram would do the trick to speed up computer?

2 GB is the minimum you can run with on OSX and is totally inadequate for any treatment of the image of seriousness. Max of RAM on (according to the MacBook Pro, you have, it could go up to 8 GB) and you will see a significant increase in performance.

In my experience of years in the graphic industry, extra RAM is usually a better bet that spending more money on a slightly faster processor when it comes to image processing.

Photoshop gives his best performance when he can access a lot of RAM to instead of having to swap RAM to disk frequently as it would with the big RAW files from your D7.

Another thing to keep in mind is to keep at least 10 percent of your hard drive free (minimum 10 GB) to ensure that the Mac has plenty of space for the OS to do its job, too.
