Allow duplicate names

Hi all

Is it possible to know if my database allows members in double names without adding a duplicate to the sketch name. In short... I created a database of long back. I donot remember I activated the option "Allow duplicate names" at that time. Now I need to find this information without any test on the way.
Sorry if my question sounds stupid!

Kind regards
Hari

Hello

Open the outline in EAS and look at the Properties tab, it will show "Double names allowed members" - true or false

See you soon

    Hello

    I checked 'Allow duplicate members' for my request for ASO (11.1.2.1.00 system). By doing this, I can create members of same name in all dimensions. But the alias names cannot always be duplicated. Is there anyway to use the same alias for multiple member names can be the same size or different dimensions?

    Thank you.

    I tested on 11.1.2.1 and managed to create alias duplicate names, you cannot duplicate aliases names / members with the same parent.

  • duplicate name exists on the network: can spy on me

    I get this error message on an existing when duplicate name that I start.
    I read the patches for this, but what I'm wondering is...
    Assuming that the name "duplicate" is another computer, we are related in any way other than
    by name and network? I want to know if Name2 (the other) is aware of name1 (me) regarding
    like keystrokes, passwords, navigation, etc. ? What is the possibility exists for a name
    'spy' on the other? -I'm on a wireless home network.
    Because the error messages began, an oddity came with them... many times I have to
    Click a button a second time, then wait for 1-2 seconds, whereas before, a simple left click
    has brought an immediate response. Are us bogged down each other?

    Let us know if the issue of the double name reappears; It should not.

    I suspect that your mouse is having mechanical problems. Are you using the left button of the mouse much (for example, in games)?  Or there may be a foreign substance (dirt) in the switch.

    If you have another mouse, you can try for a while to see if the problem persists with another mouse.  You can also go in Control Panel > mouse and (temporarily) the right switch and buttons to the left of the mouse - but this is not something you want to probably keep for any significant amount of time and if the problem occurs only intermittently, you may not be able to definitively determine that it does not occur when you use the right button to the usual left button functions.

  • Windows system error: a duplicate name exists on the network.

    I get an error message from windows at initial startup. The message is "Windows system error: a duplciate name exists on the network." How can I fix this?

    What version of Windows, including the service pack is installed?

    After the error, can you use the computer to access the Internet?

    You have a home network (i.e. more than one computer sharing an Internet connection) or this error pops up on a computer used in a business/company/Office?

    Assuming that there is a situation of home, what has changed recently in what concerns other devices (computer, printers, game boxes, etc.) added to the mix?

    How this computer is connected to the Internet?

    Make a right click my computer and select Properties.  Then click on the "Computer name" tab  The 'full name' should not be the same as the name of "workgroup".

    The error is a complaint that another device on any network to which your computer is connected to has the same name that the 'full name' shown in system properties (I assume that it is also possible that the error reports that there are two devices on the network with the same name even if none of these devices your computer).

    Although there are utilities that scan your network and to report the names of connected devices, they are somewhat nonsimple to use and may not work on a computer that will expose the error that report you.

    If your computer is on a home network, share an Internet connection using a router, you can manually check all other devices.  You don't maybe not easily able to determine the 'computer name' no computer network devices, but it is highly unlikely that such a device, for example, a network printer, would have the same name as your computer.

    Just to be sure there isn't something special going, disconnect your computer from your network (or your Internet connection) and then it reboot.  The duplicate name error should NOT appear if the computer is not connected to a network.

    I ran a repair Windows Home CD with SP1 on this laptop and I had trouble getting to the end. He kept giving error message - missing or damaged dll file. And now I have an error message pops up saying: a duplicate name exists on the network (the).  I was told I could install a XP Pro Tools program, but I forgot to write the instructions. And he still appears whenever I boot Windows XP Home OS. Any suggestions? I appreciate it as this notice little if aggravating especially after all I wanted to do this work without an error Mssg.

    Hi Alweed,

    You can try the following steps and check:

    a. right click on desktop

    b. click Properties

    c. click on the computer name tab at the top.

    d. check the 'display name' of each computer in question and make sure they are unique.

    (e) if they are not, click on the button 'change'. (If not, replace the name of one of the computers)

    f. you may have to restart your computer.

  • When I turn on my computer, I get this message, "a duplicate name exists on the network."

    I've had this name for years, what happened?

    Thanks for the reply.  No, the computer name and workgroup name are not the same.  Should they be?

    No, if they were the same, which can cause the error you see.

    I can't guess any further, unless you answer the other questions.

    The error is a complaint that another device on any network to which your computer is connected has the same name as the 'full name' shown in system properties.

    Although there are utilities that scan your network and to report the names of connected devices, they are somewhat nonsimple to use and probably would not work on a computer that will expose the error your report.

    Just to be sure there isn't something special going, disconnect your computer from your network (or your Internet connection) and then it reboot.  The duplicate name error should NOT appear if the computer is not connected to a network.

  • Question E3000: "duplicate name.

    New Member here - hi.  I bought an E3000 router to replace a competing product that had begun to lose its settings sporadically.  For what it's worth, the device is connected to three connections - my main office, my backup of Windows Home Server machine and printer in network - and wired talks to a bunch of laptops wireless.

    I've changed the SSID - I guess that Cisco calls it the "network name" - which I currently use, and this changed du.1 subnet for the sous-reseau.2 to avoid having to diddle the fixed addresses on Windows Home Server box and the network printer.  Perhaps it is relevant; Maybe not.

    The problem is that many (not all) laptops to connect and generate a Windows warning box, "a duplicate name exists on the network.  Obviously, laptops have individual names; There is no duplicate.  As an experiment, I took one of them on the Working Group, giving it another name of garbage for the Working Group, and now I can't put it back in the Working Group expected due to the problem of "duplicate name".

    This issue rings a Bell with anyone?  A quick search of the forum here didn't come with anything promise immediately.

    I've never done the spokesperson.  After a factory reset operation failed improve things, I changed the name of the network, as long as I liked one that I had used and all my problems went away.  He has collaborated with no complaints from any of the multiple wired and wireless computers.

    I'm still at a loss to explain that has been cached names and fool the router.

  • Duplicate name on the network with WRT160N v1

    I get the error "a duplicate name exists on the network" on all my computers.  I just started getting this error about a week ago.  I don't change anything on the network and have had this router WRT160N v1 (with the latest version of the firmware) for about 6 months now.  I spoke with Linksys support and they told me to rename all my computers and reboot the router... which only bypassed the question for 1 day.    In addition to the inconvenience of the error, the only thing it crashes me to connect to any other computer via a mapped network drives.  Print on network printers and internet work very well.

    I wonder if a Windows Update is the cause of this, but not sure.

    Here is my network configuration:

    I have a simple network of peer to peer with 5 workstations and 1 portable wireless.

    All workstations use DHCP except 1 which behaves like a file server with a static IP address.

    All the workstations are XP Pro and laptop is Vista professional.

    WRT160N v1 router DHCP running

    Help or direction would be great!

    I guess when you renamed your computers, you have given a different name to each computer and restarted the entire network after the name change.  If this isn't the case, it is the cause of your problem.

    What LAN IP address static (fixed) do you use for your server?   What is your range of DHCP server?    If you use "DHCP Réservation" to give your server a static LAN IP address, then the address must be within the range of the DHCP server.  However, if you have assigned manually your server an address LAN IP fixed, by entering information in the server, then this fixed LAN IP address must be outside the range of the DHCP server, and it may not end with 0, 1 and 255.

    At least part of your problem (drive mapping) sounds like a problem with computer software firewall.  Go to the software firewall for computer on each computer and set it to "trust", other computers on your network.

    Using an unsecured wireless network?  If so, maybe your neighbor put his computer to use one of your computer names, and it connects to your network (accidentally or intentionally).   If you have an unsecured wireless network, secure it.

    In addition, check the MAC addresses on all your cards, ethernet and wireless adapters and see if both is the same.   Surprisingly, some manufacturers do not give MAC addresses unique to their network devices and perhaps is to confuse the router.

    In addition, you use a wireless Repeater in your network?  Sometimes this problem with duplicated names occurs when a wireless Repeater is used.  Yet once, if you have an unsecured wireless network, maybe your neighbor runs the Repeater of fire!

    Do one of the computers that are connected to the router, also have a wireless adapter?  If so, make sure it's off.

    If you would like more information, please state the brand and exact model of the card number wireless laptop.

  • How can I check the NDP project duplicate name?

    Hi all

    I would like to know how I can check the NDP duplicate project name? I find that some NDP is initiate serveral times with the same or similar user name name. Assuming that the name of the project was "Smart Pilot". I've always found that this project can type differently as "Smart DRIVER", "smart pilot" or even "Smart drivers. Assuming I want to validate all these name before saving by using validation or custom validation infrastructure. Is this possible?

    Assuming that it was possible, can you please guide me on the way?

    Thank you very much in advance for the entire response.

    Here is some examples of code for a fast validator. Note that this uses a hard coded English error message, rather than a translation. If you want to use translations instead, look at a few examples in the folder ReferenceImplementations\Validation\SourceCode\ReferenceValidation of the pack of extensibility and review the training of Validation as well as (in the ReferenceImplementations\Validation\Documentation folder).

    Note that the code provided is only for demonstration purposes and is not supported by Oracle.

    Classes:

    using System;
    using System.Data;
    using System.Xml;
    using Xeno.Data.NPD;
    using Xeno.Prodika.Application;
    using Xeno.Prodika.Services;
    using Xeno.Prodika.Validation;
    using Xeno.Prodika.Validation.Validators;

    namespace Oracle.Agile.PlmProcess.Validation
    {
        public class NPDUniqueProjectNameValidatorFactory : XmlConfigValidatorFactoryBase
        {
            protected override IValidator Create_Internal(XmlNode configNode)
            {
                return new NPDUniqueProjectNameValidator();
            }
        }

        public class NPDUniqueProjectNameValidator : BaseValidator
        {
            private const string sql = @"select 1 as dup from NPDPROJECTML where UPPER(title) = UPPER ('{0}') and FKPROJECT <> '{1}' and LANGID = {2}";

            public override bool Validate(IValidationContext ctx)
            {
                var project = ctx.ValidationTarget as INPDProjectDO;
                bool hasDuplicate = false;
                string sqlToExecute = String.Format(sql, project.ProjectML.Title, project.PKID, UserService.UserContext.User.PreferredLanguage);
                using (IDataReader reader = AppPlatformHelper.DataManager.newQuery().execute(sqlToExecute))
                {
                    if (reader.Read())
                    {
                        hasDuplicate = true;
                    }
                }

                if (hasDuplicate)
                    ctx.AddError(String.Format("A project already exists with the name '{0}'.", project.ProjectML.Title));

                return hasDuplicate;
            }

            private IUserService UserService
            {
                get { return AppPlatformHelper.ServiceManager.GetServiceByType(); }
            }
        }
    }

    Then, add the following to the ValidationSettings.xml file in config\Extensions:

    1. Add the validator factory, with a reference name in the config:

    2. Add a rule for NDP project save the event:

    Compile the example reference in a dll and add this dll in web\npd\bin

    When you try to save a project with a duplicate name, it should now give you the error message.
