• Activation of alt-text pop ups

  While generally, I use Firefox, one of the features that I find useful in Internet Explorer 8 is the 'alt text' appears as a small popup on the passage of the mouse. I tried Firefox and Firefox Help to see if there was a function that can be activated for this, but found no references at all to alt-text. Firefox can show "alt text"? If not, is there an add-on? If this isn't the case, please submit this as characteristic suggested adding in future releases.

  title = was introduced later for images and Firefox being the horse of standards show the title but not the alt = "descriptive text".

  Alt = is shown if the image does not appear (not found, for example), it is / became a requirement because it would supposedly help blind people to read the images - which was abandoned (there are better methods) and so was the requirement that alt = always be used. The two are not the same thing.

  If you want to display Alt = in addition to titles, there is an extension, it's messy and I think I've tried placed a ToolTip which could not be rejected once that said you above - I don't know he improved or others have done better. Anyone write code should now definitely use title.

  When I'm analyzing data with PASW statistics package software or play Chess Titans (possibly other programs don't know, this is a recent problem), hovering over * nothing * that has alt text graphics and distort the dimensions of the window (see image).

  This bug occurs in the absence of any window in any browser.

  It is incredibly distracting and not helpful in the review of statistical data or have fun with games in leisure.  Y at - it a patch or a fix that I could apply?  Any program that gives birth to this?

• InDesign cs5 for vector files alt text doesn't work when not in interactive pdf

  I am creative and interactive pdf newsletter which must be compatible with accessibility. Text alt for jpg, psd, etc work fine, but no alt text appears for the pdf files or have. Wendeth63 asked a question similar May 13, 2013, but it refers to eps files. I have experienced by changing the background from transparent to solid, but nothing works. Now that the accessibility compliance is mandatory in many places, it is a pretty big bug.

  Without the feature changed massively in CC and CC20015, as object Export Options have been introduced, and they are now included in the object Styles which can attract this meta out of the file, making it effective to change the meta in Bridge information, place the image in a frame with a correct object style.

  But with CS5 you are out of luck and you will need to do in Acrobat.

  I am a newbie to Muse.  I learned how to add text to individual images alt, but my question is about images in a slide show.  I used the widget to create a slideshow.  I have images for slideshows in a folder.  But I don't know how to add alt-individual text to each image in the slide show.  Any help appreciated.

  The text should not display at all! It is intended for users who cannot see the pages and to help intentionally exposâmes it of all visitors to the web site: the search robots Google !

  Most browsers use the alt or the ToolTip as an indicative popup text, but it is not a guarantee or obligation. So if they decide not to do with images that are buried in deep in the HTML code (such as the slide show), they might overlook it.

• How can I add titles and ALT text to Images that are used as fill?

  I built a site and in most cases, all images are fillings.  I want to update the title and the replacement text, but do not have the option.  It seems that I can only do this to images that have been placed?  If this is the case - how to place an image on an area I want to be filled.

  The work around you are use is probably the best solution because there is no way to add the alt text of an image placed in a frame.

  Your website doesn't have a problem with the replacement text apart from the fact that you use innapropriately.  What I think you are looking for is 'ToolTip' that IE displays when you hover an image with alt text?  If so, that is to say wrongly uses the alt text and Firefox is correctly I think that, with the title attribute.  It isn't your site that may or may not display the text, this is the browser.

  With regard to the use of alt text to say 'click to enlarge', this isn't such a good idea.  The use of the text is to provide an alternative text for the image in case a viewer is not the images displayed, or uses a screen reader.  It should be used to describe the image.

  I read about the Dark Art of SEO, and frankly, that a large part of it is more confused than I expected.  In any case, I will summarize here. I read that:

  The file/folder names are better with words and hyphenated words.  then DCM000123.jpg in a folder named galimg would be better as: /gallery-images/painting-title-here.jpg

  So if my thinking is OK, here are the questions.

  How would you put the alt = "" text on individual images? "  I guess that it should simply be a direct description, this who-you see?  But there are a few other options.  Suppose I have an image that the artist titled, 'Cattle on a Hill', and it is an oil on canvas.  I could do that

  ALT = "" oil on canvas: cattle on a hill "or"

  ALT = "Cattle on a hill" or

  ALT = "a group of cows grazing in pastures under the light of the moon." or

  Suppose that I have 20 images in a gallery of portraits:

  ALT = "Portrait.  "Oil on canvas: Joe Bloggs ' or

  ALT = "Portrait.  Joe Bloggs' or

  ALT = "Man with the gray hair, wearing a blue shirt, sitting on a bench" or

  ALT = "Portrait painting.  Oil on canvas. "Joe Bloggs: wearing a blue shirt, gray-haired man, sitting on a bench.

  The second part of the question also includes the problem that if I have 20 images in a single gallery page and I put 'Painting of Portrait' in every alt = "" text is that it will look like keyword stuffing? "

  Now on the thing of file name.  File names are portrait-painting-01 and so on or does it cattle - on the slopes or what?

  Last question: I do too much of this?

  I never use the Alt-text function (yes I know, I should). And I hate the way the version of DW CS3 automatically prompts me to add something in the Alt text field when I paste an image. Is there anyway to turn this off?

• My alt text applied by object Export Options in InDesign CC tags are not displayed in PDF format

  I am marking my images and adding tags to text in InDesign CC by object Export Options and even add Alt in the structure for my images, but when I bring it in PDF, the image is not labeled in the order of reading and text tags are not displayed. How can I fix that, apart from making the work directly to PDF?

  I solved the problem - discovered that InDesign CC do not mix images of previous versions of InDesign, so took everything in the document and placed into a new document, exported to PDF and all that the tag perfectly!

  I created my first website that shows support for the dynamic property of the images on the search criteria. I am now getting the alt for images text and this text is also generate dynamically using php. Please could someone explain to me how / if this would have a positive or negative effect when the site is indexed by google.

  At the time when that page gets Google, the text has already been inserted.  There would be no effect on indexing.

  To be honest, however, I'm not sure that Google reads content of the ALT attribute.  It's really for accessibility.  Now if it were the title attribute, I think that's certainly read.

  I know I used to be able to show the alternative text (a discription of a picture) when the cursor is over the image, but from what I've read, this is possible only if the image is not available.
