Always Missing cd-dvd in vista

I see that it is more and more a question people lose it cd - dvd rom... Mine just started last week, I rarley use this machine for something else in addition to games because I travel a lot.

I have read of Microsoft and HP support forums and looked at all the different avenues to resolve this problem.

1. Remove upper and lower filters... (they do not appear here)

2 put back in place the driver in the device for DVD Manager icon isn't there

3. withdrawal and re - insert the cd\dvd unit

4.CD\DVD will open, close and as he works the hard drive light too... but nothing

5 I did a reinstall System twice, the first time the DVD wasn't there then some day, from windows update, it was the first load of 46 of them updates.   Then, I could see the cd\dvd aprΦs ROM the dΘmarrage.  Then I installed some basic programs that I used before without any problem. Then another set of updates, it's where he was lost somewhere around the second or 3 round of updates.

After that so I did another system recovery this time that the DVD player is not back... Training is good, I could take it to the shop I bought and the technicians so nice enough to check it out on one of the other laptops.

I hear many people talk about the ahci changing and having to go back again, I don't have that option in my bios (which is very limited what you can do on this machine)

I guess it must be a little insufficient from an update, had this machine for more than a year and then there is about 2 weeks, I have a problem.

Should I just get an external unit? or is there a solution that I have tried, any help would be great.

Thank you

Do this - control panel - Device Manager 1 - click double-click on the drive - CD/DVD
Driver update (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the drivers of certification). Now LAW
Click on - UNINSTALL - REBOOT - this will rebuild the driver stack.

Then work your way through these

  • I installed the full version of After Effects, but as MPEG2 and DVD MPEG2 codecs are always miss

The title explains little. I installed Master Collection CS5.5 as a full version, but After Effects and Adobe Media Encoder are still missing to the protected content. I rebooted and updated and restarted again. I installed as a trial and then entered the serial number later, and I also tried to use the serial number during installation. It seems that no matter what combination I try, I can't get MPEG2 if poster in the list to export.

I just spoke with one of the software engineers, and he said that this could be the problem:

If an exporter plugin ever to load, then After Effects try to load it again. It is possible that MPEG-2 exporters could not load a moment and then marked in this way.

I recommend quiting After Effects, remove this entire directory and then restart After Effects:

    /Users/ /Library/Preferences/Adobe/After effects/10.5

(No, this directory is not deleted during the uninstallation, unless explicitly say you to remove preferences, so it may have been left in your previous attempts to uninstall and reinstall.)

I don't know when it happened. I just started it yesterday and it worked a few updates of windows for operating system for office 2007 and a few others. • Satellite L40 PSL48E - missing CD/DVD drive

    Hello

I can't find my CD/DVD drive. The driver is probably corrupted or missing (Code 39).
    What should I do?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

This problem is known to me and she related to the incorrect registry key.

First, you must remove the drive CD/DVD from the list of devices in Device Manager.
Then, you should access the registry and should remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Finally, restart the laptop and check the drive after Vista acknowledged again.

    Good bye

  • missing cd/dvd drivers on the new install of win7

I have a HP Pavillion H8-1230.  Replaced the hard drive with a new 2 to Seagate.  Tried to make a new, clean installation of Windows 7 Pro but I get an error that says: "a required cd/dvd device driver is missing."  I always thought that basic device drivers have been included in Windows, but I guess I'm wrong.  I can't find this driver anywhere.  My CD/DVD-rom is a DVD SuperMulti of HP GH60L burner. Can someone please help?

    Hello

    Try the following.

Using another PC, download driver RAID on the following link.

Storage controller driver - Windows 7 32 bit.

Storage controller driver - Windows 7 64 bit.

Then, if you do not have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip.  Please note that If you have a 64-bit installation, download and install the Installer x 64 64-bit .msi on the link below.

    http://www.7-zip.org/

Then, right click on the storage controller installation program you download, select Extract 7 - Zip, select the files, and then click Ok.  Copy this file "extract" at the root of a USB or a blank CD key.

When you get to install error message, plug the USB (if you used a CD, remove the installation disc and insert the CD), and then select the option 'Load the Drivers' - navigate to the location on the CD/USB and load the driver.

    Kind regards

  • WinDVD8 Application missing after upgrade to Vista

I wonder if anyone can help me with this? I upgraded earlier this year to Vista. Insturcitons from Toshiba for upgrade you to uninstall WinDVD 8 before the upgrade. That and of course now I cannot apply updates the original application is missing. I searched high and low on the Toshiba site for the WinDVD softare with no luck. I can't use the dsk recovery because it's for Windows XP tablet edition.

    Thank you very much

    Chris

I tried to look for WinDVD as well, I couldn't find it anywhere. There is perhaps a framework legal reason Toshiba cannot download it.

Anyway, there are alternatives. AVS DVD Player is ok, or you can use Media Player Classic with a MPEG2 codec.

  • Satellite A200 27Z CD/DVD drivers Vista need help!

Hi all. I've only had my A200 since a few days now, I downloaded and installed all the updates of Toshiba and Microsoft including SP1. My CD/DVD drive has been shown in the Panel right after that I installed SP1.

The drive worked before and after the installation of SP1. But today for some reason it is not there. When I checked in the device manager says Windows can not the drivers for it, because they may be missing or currupt (code 39).

Can someone tell me please how to fix this problem without having to perform a system restore? I checked Toshiba site and can't seem to find the drivers.

Any help would be welcome. Thank you.

Here's a possible solution, that works very well for most:

Go to Device Manager and remove the drive from the list of devices CD/DVD.

Then start the registry (regedit) and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

After this restart your laptop and Vista will be to reinstall the next time. Normally it works then.

  • Subfolders are missing in my Windows Vista mail

All of a sudden all my especially for the Inbox subfolders have disappeared, I'm desperate to get back. I used Windows Mail for 2 years with no problems until I turned it on a few days ago.

The Inbox always works for the Inbox and Outbox, as well, but it does NOT show the pointer indicating the sub folders.

I got CCleaner, check and repair the registry

I have DL WMUtil and clicked on 'Repair', with no result.
Support MS I took the Adviser and Windows Live Mail installed.

All windows updates are installed, including SP1 & SP2

I'm sure each subfolder has it's own DBX and I have what looks like the long list to save them in my F:\Downloads\Email . I see that the Inbox itself is 1.33 GB, which can be too big?

All windows updates are installed including SP1 & SP2.

(When introduced in several years, as far as possible C:\ has been kept for the MS OS and one very little other critics of the programs so that the Image has been observed smaller as much as possible for reasons of reconstruction and restoration.) I have years of work organized and saved and do not want a multi-hour/day sessions to rebuild if the OS crashes.   Most of the other programs have been put in E:\;        and F:\ was maintained for data)

Thus, you will notice that all *.dbx files are in f, not C:\ folders.dbx was changed to folders.old, but the folders.dbx is not regenerated when the mail is opened again.

NOW, I go check Mail/Local C:\Users\Carl/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows files .  There is No folder.dbx, .old, .bak, etc..   But the records that I'm missing may not be in the local folders.  Each of the files *.eml files/messages and I can click on and open one of them.

So the sub folders (the typical yellow icon) appear to be in C:\
But the *.dbx files (icon looks like a blank white page) are in F:\
So how do them together and recognized again?

    Thank you

    Carl P Cardey
    Hemet, CA

    Hi CarlP33,

C:\Users\Carl/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows Mail/Local Folders is where Windows Mail stores data by default on a Vista machine. And DBX is not the format in which windows mail stores the data. He stores them in a format called. EML you find that is correct.

. DBX is dead... This is the format in which Outlook Express uses to store its data. If you find these files in F:\ they could be a backup or that you copied.

See below on how to import the DBX (Outlook Express data) in Windows Mail.
