An AMD Phenom is necessary for first Pro CS5?

Hello

I read the system requirements of the CS5 for Windows and for me it looks like you can not work with first with an AMD Athlon:

"Intel® Pentium® 4 or AMD Athlon® 64 processor (Intel Core™ 2 Duo or AMD Phenom® II recommended); Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Phenom II required for Adobe® first® Pro"(http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/mastercollection/systemreqs/)

I have a 64-bit ready CPU: AMD Athlon II X 2 250. It is not as fast as the Phenom processors.

Will be the creation of working with this processor? I ask this, because the first also requires 64-bit systems and so why shouldn't be a special processor?

Thank you for responding.

Adobe minimum requirements are exactly that.

Minimum should more often be enough to install. If you want to use the minimum program is not enough. The proposed requirements may work for DV, but will be insufficient for HDV, AVCHD formats or similar.

  • Video card for first Pro CS5

I'm currently has the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285, Win7, 6 GB RAM and periodically get the crash program and the following error when you work with projects: driver problem detected OpenGL NVIDIA with the display driver.

I want to upgrade to a better video card and would like a professional recommendation. I want to stay in the range of $400-$500. Most of the recommendations that I looked on the forum seem obsolete compared to products currently listed on the NVIDIA site. Thank you.

What Bill meant that with only 6 GB of RAM (which is IMHO not enough RAM to run Premiere Pro CS5 + to the satisfaction of most of the people), the high-end cards would have been a total waste of money: performance of the RAM and the large pagefile expansion will severely limit any provision of performance for the high-end cards to the point where these cards would not be a faster than cards much cheaper. In other words, there is a mounting system as fast as its weakest link (in this case, the low amount of RAM and the generally slow hard disks that are used to Exchange files). Increase in the total amount of RAM 12 GB (or better yet, 24GO) would significantly reduce the need for such a huge, slow the pagefile access. Even the fastest SSD can't stay with the RAM in terms of throughput and latency for access.

And which causes this slow performance of your system is Windows increases generally the file exchange - and with only 6 GB of RAM and a relatively heavy such as Premiere Pro resources application, it would requre a rather huge swap file. By default, Windows sets the size of the initial pagefile roughly equal to the amount of RAM installed. What is happening here is that the difference between the amount of installed RAM, used by the first and the amount of space for swap file that requires the app is so great that it would have potentially forced the size of pagefile to mushroom in many more than 10 GB. This considerably reduces the performance of the total system, performance not only in first. Even if the size of the pagefile in Windows for an amount well above the RAM installed will not completely solve the problem of slow because no disc is nowhere nearly as fast as RAM. But if you do not use a swap file, especially with a low amount of RAM installed, the system will crash during a session of editing/rendering/encoding with "out of memory" errors.

  • Optimal hard drive configuration for first Pro CS5 and Pro Tools

I am in the process of upgrading a workstation is used mainly for multi-track audio recording in Pro Tools using the Adobe CS5 products following production of promotional videos in HDV (AVCHD for the web) as well as printouts of documents of marketing for groups and musicians: Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Soundbooth.

Since Premiere Pro is probably the most demanding application in the group, I studied the hardware configurations suggested on this forum with great interest, in particular the suggestions of PREJUDICE (including its generic guidance for the installation disc) to determine what drives in order to buy and the best way to configure them.

I'm upgrading to a HP Z800 with 2.44 GhZ processors dual quad core with hyperthreading (16 virtual cores), 12 GB of memory and a GeForce GTX 470 overclockee.  Without the implementation of a RAID configuration (which I can't afford right now), I would use 4 bays for HARD drives available in the Z800 in the optimal way for the Premier Pro, using currently available drives.  Currently, I plan to buy a 300 GB VelociRaptor to use as my C drive because of the time of extended loading and demands placed on the disc of ProTools and plug-ins Waves associated.

I would appreciate your suggestions to improve my next plan: C (300 GB WD VelociRaptor) for the operating system and programs; D (1 TB WD Black Caviar) media and projects; E (1 250 GB WD Caviar Black) for the swap file (approx. 18 GB) and media Cache; and E (2 TB WD Caviar Black) for Pro Tools, exports, and previews of audio files.

I have great respect for the knowledge of the members of this forum and look forward to your suggestions.

    / Bill

    Bill,

If the live band shots involve a lot of multi-camera editing, I suggest a raid0, otherwise, if the Assembly is a single camera only, I would use separate disks, one for the media and for exports. The risk of losing all the data in a raid0 configuration would not bother, because the intensive part of the disc reads media / FLV writes. It will not be a significant difference in performance between playback of a disc and writing to each other compared to R/W in a raid0.

  • S Q on 4 disk configuration ideal for first Pro CS5

OK, so I think I have my put rigging in place for more efficiency and performance with respect to hard drives...

I have 5 discs total, but only four is used continuously, 1 is external.

I will number them for easier...

1 boot - 10 K veloci - contains the OS and only for programs

    2. Media - 10 K veloci - holds all the media to be cut

3 swap pagefile to the OS - 64 GB SSD - chocks, media swap file for CS5 - not here to multimedia files, just cache files

4 storage - sata3 black Caviar - 7200 RPM drive but surprisingly fast - holds all renders finished

5 external storage - blue Caviar on an esata port - used for daily backups.

    Issues related to the:

A - a single 10K veloci, now all my uncircumcised media files, fast enough to afford media display full resolution?

B - The #4 is fast enough to drive 7200 RPM - its sustained write speeds are around 80-90, so I thought that would be enough.  Should I be out my restores to the #3 since it's a SSD?  It's sustained write speeds are around 140-150.  I didn't think I would need this amount of speed, since makes most is in the format h.264 and files-ish around a few hundred megs or so... maybe a 1 GB maximum.

C, I wonder - so it's best to leave him restores the disk #4 or #3?  But because the #3 was already used for the cache of the OS and the PP files, I thought it would be too difficult to use as a drive for export, too.  Or am I wrong?

Advice or suggestions on the best way to set up my disks is very much appreciated... Thank you!

    ""

3 swap pagefile of OS - 64 GB SSD - chocks, media swap file for CS5 - no media don't files here, just cache files "'

We tried this there is nothing for increased performance

I say don't waste your money...

  • Adobe first Pro CS5 for Mac-installation problem

I recently bought Adobe first Pro CS5 one upgrade (for Mac) and after I entered the serial number during installation it asks me a serial number of an eligible product, three announcements: first items 4, 7 or 8. I only have first Elements 9. I'd be happy to buy the above products except several sources suggest that PE8 was never produced for Mac. Any ideas of what I can do?

  • Choose between gtx970 and 780ti at the same price - especially for first pro (no game)

I must choose between (new) gtx970 and 780ti (second hand a friend, he buyed it but never mounted or even he unboxed) specially for first pro / some aEffets and PShop (it's the working pc, no game... too )

Both are at the same price-

    360 eur 970 gtx

    780ti gtx 355 euros

Read the card (cudacores, bandwiths, etc.), it seems easy to choose the 780ti especially because this isn't for the games, but I'm not professional equipment, then maybe you could give me some advice... I'm edition 4 videos k short (10 minutes or more) almost future and im worried about the 'old' technology 780ti could have some limitation with it

I like to work with my new baby - i7 5820 k - 32 GB ddr4 2400-128 GB ssd for the OS - ssd 256 GB for editing - 2 TB hdd 7200 RPM - and an old gt440 from nvidia... for now...

I hope you can help me with this last choice

Thank you very much in advance...

A 980Ti would be the best choice, and around the same way as a black Titan on this basis.

  • Best graphics card for first Pro CC?

Hi all, I have a question about the graphics card, which is best for first Pro CC execution. I have a desktop PC with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 and a Laptop with a GeForce GTX 960 M. Can someone give me advice, which card is best for first Pro CC. Thank you!

I don't think that there is any best card.

But I also have many of these same cards, one in my editing system in my personal system.  960 really works better.

You don't need a serial nr for updating a program

You need the original CS4.0. install and add the series nr. to get the program to work.

Now you can update to 4.2.1
