Then I suddenly started to get the "unknown error occurred" in Windows HDR and Photomerge, no matter the photos I chose, whether it's different types of files, resolutions and even photos that have worked successfully in the past. Should I try to click on another parameter beyond just close the window, Lightroom crashes.

  To my knowledge, there have not been updated Lightroom between when I remember the last working of functions and now. These photos also all successfully merging in Camera Raw and Photoshop, and I got no error in any other software I use commonly... so I'm not inclined to think that it's a hardware problem.

  I tried turning the function 'Use Graphics Processor', clear my caches and most of the other things I could think of short of relocation (which, given my catastrophic internet speed, I discovered only as a last resort).
