When I try to open an attachment I "Download cannot be saved, because an unknown error occurred."
Title says it all. If I try "to open" an attachment, the download dialog appears, and the progress bar begins to fill, then it should be full I get the message:
"The download cannot be saved because an unknown error occurred
Please Try Again. »
I can always save the files, but then I have to delete them (and it's just a hassle). Any help would be appreciated!
Do not have an anti-virus. However, I understood what the problem was!
It seems that he was not really affecting all attachments, simply *.pdf files (I did not know it since I usually get pdf attachments only).
The problem is that my default pdf reader has been set on a plug-in that was not working. I changed it and all is well.

The last 3 letters of the attachment is the file extension.If the last 3 letters... are doc, you need Microsoft Office Word or Microsoft WordViewer.

I have to be able to read the news sent me. Somehow... the other day, Windows Media Center downloaded on my computer. I'm unable to determine if I should delete or keep. First of all to find any pdf file in your file system. Then right click and click 'Open with', go to choose program, select Adobe Reader and check the box always 'using the program selected... '. "and then click OK.
This should fix your pdf file extension association.
If it doesn't, uninstall Acrobat Reader and install the latest version from http://www.adobe.com/downloads/
