Anchor points of line Segment

I want to draw with the line segment tool.  When I want to add a line segment to another segment of line an anchor usually shows upward I know the lines are intertwined with precision.  For some reason any anchor point is not underlined, and the lines are intertwined with precision.  Do I have to activate this feature somewhere?

funwithphi,

This looks like a tick toggle view > comments (Ctrl / Cmd + U). You had a mishit keyboard.

  • How to create a wavy with coherent wave regardless of anchor point spacing line?

    wavy2.PNG

The picture above shows my problem. All have the same zig zag setting the effect, but because of the inconsistent anchor point spacing is inconsistent ripple. Is there a way to make a wavy line that is not a distortion of the anchor point distances? I wish that all my wavy lines to look nice and consistent like this:

    wavy3.PNG

The only reason that they are so consistent is the absolute value was used but these lines are all straight and have only 2 anchor points, beginning and end, so the wave is coherent. It is more difficult when the lines are curved and have a different number and spacing of anchor points.

  • How to draw a line (with the line segment tool) then draw another line, from those previous anchor point. When I try immediately draw another line on the other anchor lines it try to turn instead.

I'm following a course of basic fundamental illustrator on Lynda. The video of "draw straight lines" is troubling me. They draw a line with the line segment and then draw another line coming out the anchor point at an angle.

Here's where it is troubling me - when I try to drag a line to the anchor point trying to transform the first line, I drew. (the line cursor turns into a selection tool) I can't draw another line connecting the first.

Advice would be great because it's driving crazy me.

    See you soon,.

Yes, it is irritating. You must clear the previous line first. If you want to make sure that both ends are perfectly aligned, start by turning on the guides. If you want two lines to be part of the same way, you should use the tool pen instead.

  • The path segments and anchor point conversion

Once again, coming from CorelDraw background, working with paths and their anchor in Illustrator, seems me very little practice, but hey, I'm willing to learn. However, I could not find how to get this Illustrator basic functionality, and oh boy I searched a lot. So, here we go, maybe you guys can give me a hint.

Basically, in CorelDraw, anchor points can be: cusp point, smooth or symmetrical and the correspondence path segments can be lines or curves, all of these can be set by little fast individually and for me somehow normal.

    Corel000.jpgCorel002.jpgCorel003.jpgCorel004.jpgCorel005.jpgCorel006.jpgCorel007.jpg

Now in illustrator, I know how to use convert tool for shwitch to a smooth point to a corner anchor point or the other way around. But many times, after his conversion to a point angle, I would like to have the posibility to do one or the other line segments of a path or curve. How can I do this in Illustrator?

It is also possible to reproduce the functionality of symmetrical knot in Illustrator, which is specific for an anchor point handles, are the same length, move synchronized and always 180 deg apart.

Thank you and sorry if my questions are obvious, I can't find my energetic path in Illustrator.

I'm really sorry for this announcement.

Don't apologize. Your points are not invalid.

Fact, it's simply, Illustrator does not provide an explicit anchor type that assures the tangency between the right and a segment of the curve (your screenshot third in your initial post). Draw is done. The fact Freehand (called connector Points). No Illustrator.

Illustrator does not provide an adequate means for retrieving a single handful of anchor point. Allowing you to win almost end up disrupting the curvature of the adjacent section.

Illustrator does not constraints anchors to symmetric handles of the same length. You can do this initially convert result to slip with the tool, or (recently) click the button convert to smooth in the control panel. But even once, there no special anchor type to ensure that the symmetry continues with future adjustments.

If you continue to study carefully the differences, you will find several omissions similar and/or limitations in interface of Bezier path of Illustrator, for taken-for-granted things in other programs. For example, you cannot compel a length of handle adjustment (sliding) to the current angle. It's always been like that. The Illustrator Bezier interface is worse in their class. Too many tools; too few features.

  • Gradient mesh - segments distorted with no anchor points

I often run into a very strange behavior with the gradient mesh tool, where a line segment becomes strongly deformed (bent, looped or with a hard angle in it) has no anchor points or control handles to take account of the distorted line segment. I've seen this happen with the gradient mesh tool. In my last occurrence of this issue, I should be a curve segment gently between two flat control points, and on the contrary, there is this huge "elbow" in what was a difficult angle and almost a loop that has nothing to do with the anchor points. There are has no anchor between these two points (I started with a rectangle and has begun adding and manipiulating points).

Anyone know of what I speak and have a workaround or a solution? Or even an explanation of why this happens maybe make me less frustrated.

Meshes sometimes insert points "helper." Switch to the point less tool, then click on the 'assistance' to delete it.

'Helper' points are visible only when the tool Point less is selected. They appear as small, strong, points compared to actual mesh points. Below is an extreme example of the "assistance" points being inserted.

  • Need help to remove the small white lines between attached forms. Still visible even after aligning anchor points.

Hey, I'm new here, so many apologies if the community has been asked this question several times before. I do a quick search, but couldn't find an answer to my problem anywhere. Would be very grateful for help.

I'm quite a beginner with Illustrator, so this may be something embarrassing simple!

But as the title says, I have a very frustrating problem, trying to create an image of polygon. I've been using the pen tool to make triangles, then join all my anchor points with the horiz/vertical align Center. Roads joined look good, until I have add color... Triangles have a very light white line on them, I have tried to delete the anti alias, which solves the problem, but then the triangles look pixelated. Even when you import into Photoshop the pale lines are visible, as well as when the file is merged or saved as a JPG file.

I've seen some very impressive polygon art and forms look seamless when joined.

Here is an example of the problem. Ideally, I'd like that forms merged without rough lines.

See you soon! Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    poly 1.jpg.

    BRI,

    I just read it again.

    align the center of horiz/vertical

works on objects, rather than Anchor Points.

You can have triangles which fail to assemble completely.

Try this, smart guides are your friends:

Starting with the last triangle (you can see the stacking order in the layers palette), click the path to find) and work your way upward as follows:

    1) click on the lower triangle with the selection tool.

    2) click on one of the neighbors, and move it to the bottom to be second in the stacking order, then move it a little far, then ClickDrag back by one of the Anchor Points to be aligned corresponding to the lower anchor (Smart Guides say anchor when you are there).

    (3) with the ClickDrag Direct selection tool other anchor Point to snap (you can drag a bit far and back until the Smart Guides say anchor);

Who should ensure a full adjustment between the two less triangles

    4) continue until you are finished with the other triangles.

  • Moving anchor points and the whole shape gets distorted to change the line weight

I have a fairly simple drawing that I drew in a larger size, so I could be more specific with it, and now I want to reduce up to the finished size and thicken the line, but when I make the line thicker, my anchor points are moving and the whole drawing is distorted.

Using Adobe Illustrator of 24 years, I never saw that happen. When I click on the "up" arrow in the stroke palette a lot of time to gradually increase the thickness of line, I can watch made anchor 'walk' around like my shape gets distorted.

If I go to the place a numeric value for the thickness of line, it doesn't.

However, if I use the scale tool to shrink the design down to the size of 10% or 20%, or whatever, with traits of the scale and effects UNCHECKED, yet once, move the anchor points and the drawing is distorted.

It's all about a brand new installation of Illustrator CS 6 for Mac (although I use CS 6 for about 2 years now, my hardrive crashed this past weekend and I had to reinstall everything).

I missed a little box somewhere that I never saw elsewhere that is what actually happen?

    This post editing to add:

Also, some of these objects in my drawing I cannot change the race less than 1 point thickness. If I choisis.5 ou.25 pt in the context menu, or even if I enter the numeric value, it jumps to 1 point. Other objects in the drawing are not.

These objects in question are "rounded rectangle" forms I used the scissors tools to cut and then used the "join" command to put them as well as other forms that have been "scissored"as well."

All forms of "Ellipse" and "Rounded Rectangle" that I have left intact do not exhibit this problem with stroke and distortion.

You are being bitten by the Align-to - pixel grid. Select the entire document and go to the transformation Panel and turn off snap to Pixel - grid at the bottom of the Panel. Then go into the rollout (small triangle in the upper-right) and disable align objects on the pixel grid.

  • Why when I spend between a center-aligned line and fill my anchor points do they move?

Hi, I use Illustrator for many years and never noticed this happens when I fill out a form - can someone explain why this is happening?

I paint a logo using an accident stroke center aligned, rounded rectangle and another path merged to make my logo... like this plan...

    1.jpg

.. .and when I change my race aligned at the center of a STROKE to a fill and vice versa (to make the black solid form), the anchor points of my shape... move about 10 times for fswitching between the fill and stroke, background and outline etc. my ways look like this...

    2.jpg

Why is this happening? It doesn't do this when I use a line lined up outside or inside the way - just at the moment where the storoke is aligned with the center of the path? CAnanyone explain why this happens? What going on here?

    -Thanks in advance!

  • Merge multiple paths to a single anchor point

    Hello friends,

I want to create a perspective of illustrator grid to use with other software.

I would like to know if it is possible to merge several paths to an anchor point unique to a single point perspective grid that can be easily changed by moving the anchor point in the Middle, as in the picture below.

Imgur: the most impressive pictures on the Internet

An anchor may reach only 2 segments of track. Your image must at least consist of 2, if it is not not 4 paths. But you can select multiple anchor points (not a path) and use the Panel line up to get them exactly on the same position. Later if you want to draw a rectangle with the direct selection above them, move them around and move these selected elements.

  • Cannot be joined lines when using the line Segment tool

So unfortunately, I've updated to the latest version of Illustrator Cc (V19.2.1). And to my horror, I can no longer draw a line (with the line segment tool) then draw another line, coming from the previous those anchor point. When I try to shoot immediately. He's trying to turn the line rather than create a line joining... anyway to change that or am I stuck with it?

    (Also, I use windows currently..)

I don't know if you can say/see/see in the video, but here's the process that I'm following departure using the line-drawing the line-> > segment trying to draw a line from that anchor point (and that is the question, when I'm doing it automatically, it assumes I want to transform the line)-> changes to the tool selection and clicks on the line to deselect-> goes back and finishes object, repeating the process.

    Help me please... I'm desperate...

It is these new life forms, a few disadvantages too with the rectangle tool, ellipse etc. tool.

to go back to the old behavior

Object > shape > expand the form, do a deed for him, or do what I did a hotkey (Windows 7).

Edit > keyboard shortcuts > Menu commands > object > shape > expand the form , then in the first box to the right click in it, select and press a key on the keyboard, I choose F9, OK and name.

It's an extra step, having to have a finger on the mouse and the other on the keyboard for each line. but I can't think otherwise.

  • Brush & tool add shape task stray anchor points

    Hi all

I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem as me. I use a fully licensed version of Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 on OS X 10.9.5 and having a problem with the Brush tool and the brush of Blob.

When drawing freehand with the brush or the blob Brush tool and make a curve it often (but not always) place anchor points in weird positions which means that I often get things once again, in which is annoying when it comes to a complex line. I thought at first it must be my Wacom pen but I tried with my mouse and the same thing happened. I have attached a screenshot that shows the problem. The line in the corner should be smooth, but instead, he created a strange bulge. As you can see that it does not happen with the pencil tool, so I guess it has something to do with how judges Illustrator where anchor points should appear when drawing freehand.

I tried to change loyalty to 0, but it does not help.

I would be very happy to help with this.

    Thank you very much

    GS,

It's the Blob issue resolved by Kurt with the effect > Distort & Transform > Zig Zag (setting the size to ridges by Segment and from 0 to 100 (you can get away with less, but should not be)).

In your version, it has probably been moved to the appearance (click on the announcement of the stroke) palette.

  • A question pretty basic pen: what do I do when I let the handles in the wrong place and they interfere with the next line segment I want to do?

What happens to me all the time: I'll be tracked something in AI (CS4, Mac) using the pen tool and I find I left the "handles" in a place that ends up being incompatible with the next line segment I want to do. Generally what happens, is that I made a curve and then I want to do a straight segment, but I can't do it without putting in a strong shot. Like this:

    Screen Shot 2014-10-05 at 8.00.49 AM.png

How do I either stop doing this in the first place or correct when it arrives?

    Mary,

If I (put) understand it, you can just press Alt/Option (so that you are always mousing down) and drag the handle back in the anchor, then let go and click or ClickDrag the next Anchor Point.

  • CS5: Coloring Anchor Points

Hello. Clearly I am missing something simple beginner. I'm working on a tutorial, and the indications that I'm in are the following:

    Step 16:

Select the shape of the bottom and the mesh tool (U) allows to add an anchor point in the left corner, exactly in the middle of the shape of the bottom as shown.
Paint all the anchor points down of this form with r: 0, G:0, B:0. And paint the points of the best anchor points with R:135, G:96, B:66.

Here is the tutorial if you want the Visual reference: ustrator http://vector.tutsplus.com/tutorials/illustration/how-to-make-a-magic-book-using-adobe-ill /

I create a book, and it's at the base, while he was basically two rectangles with a semi-circle in the middle like a spine. I used the NET tool to create a line that divides the shape. I have to assume the cracks behave differently, because I couldn't split paths to make separate, and modifying segments filling of the form ignores the mesh line. So I guess now that a path of mesh is not counted as a normal path. But he tells me to paint all points anchor and two different colors... How the hell can I do?

I click on the gradient tool, it does not appear anything else that paste a gradient on things slider, which does not affect the fill color.
Grasping the shape and change color in color the entire shape fill Panel changes...
Select the Group and try to make a gradient in the gradient panel does nothing, it does not yet record as something that can be filled.

So who exactly these directions ask me to do?

    Thank you very much!

It seems that the instructions missing essential information for people who are not very familiar with Illustrator.

To add a fill to a gradient mesh point, you must first select the direct Selection tool, which is the key has, and then click each item you want to change the gradient mesh. To make this process faster, click and drag on the points that you want to include while holding down the SHIFT key. In this way, you have select each point precisely and can be a little more flexible with what you select. But keep in mind that all the points that you surround yourself with the direct Selection tool will be selected so according to the shapes in your file by dragging through them, maybe not the best option.

Then with the points chosen, you can go into your color palette and change the color of these points. You will know that the points are selected because they will be filled with a solid color while the unsuccessful points will be 'hollow' which is just a fancy way of saying they're going to be filled with white.
