• Suspected flaw in Firefox color 35 management behavior

  I hope I can keep this concise, but bear with me if my confusion causes me include some superfluous information. The info below is what, in my view, is necessary for someone else to understand the question.

  BACKGROUND:

  -NECPA271W range wide-screen configuration double with a standard range Samsung 245BW monitor

  -Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit

  -Nvidia Quadro K4000

  -The latest versions of FireFox (v35 32 - bit), IE11 (updated 11.0.9600.17498 updated to 11.0.15 32-bit) & before (Ultimate 2015 build 7, used for testing because it integrates the rendering engines of 3 major browsers, IE v 11.0.9600.17496, v 34.05.5464 FireFox and Chrome v39.0.2172.95)

  -i1Display Pro (not the NEC SVSensor version), SpectraView II, NEC Multiprofiler & i1 Profiler

  -Two monitors are calibrated and profiled. The NEC is calibrated using SVII, but because the software only supports NEC monitors, the 245BW must be done using the i1Profiler software that comes with the Pro i1Display. SVII is able to generate ICC v2 profiles, i1 Profiler is able to v2 and v4 and v4 is recommended. , However, I think that this whole ball is not relevant to the effect that I'm observing.

  -J' recently started selling some of my photographs on a site of fine art.  So I started to dig deeper into how these images are read by others and printed later. Images optimized to sRGB for the best possible results to display on a widely varied base Viewer will not give the same results as images that are soft-soundproofed and optimized for a specific combination of printer/ink/media. This is especially true of my images which a tend to lean in the direction of being more highly saturated & more wide gamut

  -J' have been exhaustive over the info here COLOR MANAGEMENT PHOTOSHOP CS6 CC based color management ICC profile color theory spaces calibrated monitor professional... & http://cameratico.com/tools/web-browser-color-management-test/ , among many others here.

  I had reached a point where I thought I knew things pretty well, but now I'm not sure what yet, here's the problem:

  I followed the advice and info on how to configure FireFox to color management (value 1 with associated monitor profile) which allows manipulating images unmarked and the elements of the web page, http://cameratico.com/guides/firefox-color-management/. After restarting Firefox with configuration of updates, I'll be back on trial in http://cameratico.com/tools/web-browser-color-management-test/ the last two tests there are designed to show a) how much more wide range of your screen that is sRGB, and b) how the browser handles elements and images not tagged.

  The behavior I see is different from the behavior, I expect! Specifically, setting FIrefox to value of color management 1 and say things to my monitor profile causes Firefox to display the sRGB tag images as if they were not the tag. 2/no default monitor profile, I see a difference between display sRGB tag images and the image labeled ProPhoto RGB or the sRBG marked and unmarked elements CSS. I think that changing the value 1 with monitor profile should have no impact on the display of the images marked and elements, and still spend ONLY causes a change in the display behavior of images Tags should not influence, and I can see is no longer a difference between the different images because everything is fully saturated

  Marked A screenshot showing the behavior of comparison between different browsers and applications would probably be worth more that the proverbial 1000 words, I'm new here & don't understand this part yet, but this will display as is while I'm working on it.

  Can someone reproduce the behavior that I observe? Is someone spot a mistake in my thinking?

  * EDIT - I have annotated a screenshot comparing the results in 4 browsers. The screenshot has a profile embedded Adobe RGB that best represents the effects and changes I was / am seeing but cannot be kept if posted here. It may be better to download and view in CS6 order to is not to introduce any additional confusion arising from the browser YOU are using may be :-) If necessary full resolution of 2560 x 1440 version is available, but implemented nationally to meet the limits of 900 x 900 forum makes the text unreadable. Can anyone suggest a way to provide the file kept full resolution with the embedded profile?

  Using Firefox 35.0 and a wide range of Eizo CG246, I see no problem in the test browser CM (I had to desaturate the gamut test so that he can survive the sRGB conversion, but the Green is not yet fully in sRGB. "But it's just an illustration in any case):

  

  So. A couple of things from the start:

  Firefox will use the profile for the main display. It does not support a configuration dual monitor. If you move FF to the secondary display, it will always use the profile of the main screen.

  You need not tell Firefox to your display profile. In fact, you don't not probably to avoid any problems. Like any other application of color management, Firefox takes up profile defined as system by default at startup. No user intervention required. If you change the default system, Firefox needs to be restarted to load the new profile.

  This is true for both mode 1 and mode 2. They both use the display profile, but mode 1 assigns sRGB to any untagged material. Mode 2 just past untagged straight by unmanaged. The mode 1 is to correctly display the documents not marked even on a range wide screen (unsaturated). Material tagged will be managed properly in both modes. Mode 0 is one that is completely non-managed and does not use the display profile.

  ---

  All that being said, I noticed that Firefox has a few small problems with display LUT profiles. It is not immediately noticeable, but if you watch that blacks are a bit clipped. With profiles of matrix does not occur this clipping and FF absolutely identical to Photoshop poster. I didn't notice any problems with the v4 vs. v2, although v4 support must be enabled manually.

  We are trying to plan a trip on the international road and want to take a screenshot from my iPhone and attach it on the top card a screenshot that I took on my computer.

  I would also like to be able to take notes about it (travel time), highlight the name of the cities, attach web links, etc.

  Does anyone know of a program that I can do this in?

  You can save a snip as an HTML, PNG, GIF, or JPEG file. After a capture, you can save it by clicking on the capture button Save in the annotation window. Save the capture to a file on your computer by clicking the file menu and then click Save as and choose the file you want.

• Cannot use the Snipping Tool/Take screenshots

  After restarting my computer a few days ago, I found that I was unable to use the cutting tool. Whenever I try to use it, my entire monitor turns to a grey color, and some of the text on the tool itself is blacked out. I tried to take a screenshot instead, but the images do not copy, so I can't paste. I tried to install some program of photo sharing, and none so far has worked. They usually give me a black square instead of a picture. I have not installed anything that might explain this recently, and I'd appreciate some advice. (My computer using Windows 7 at the moment).

  You can capture all of the following types of comments:

  • Free-form snip.  Draw a free-form around an object shape.

  • Rectangular snip.  Drag the cursor around an object to form a rectangle.

  • Capture window.  Select a window such as a dialog box or the browser window you want to capture.

  • Capture full screen.  Capture the entire screen.

  After a capture, it is automatically copied to the Clipboard, and the annotation window. The annotation window, you can annotate, save, or share the snip. The following procedures explain how to use the Snipping Tool.

  I looked at the pdf help but. I'm not able to change the annotation properties in the timeline panel, or removing annotations. When the field for annotations is marked I can see the annotation as a small black spot, but there is no way "strech" it in the calendar below.

  Because of the trial version?

  Hi Andreas,

  I took a quick glance to your project. I am able to select the annotations and modify their properties.

  Following steps could help you.

  1. open the project in presenter Video Express.

  2. click the button of Annotations (a 5th lower-left)

  3. go to the section where you have annotation (annotation in your project, is at 4.08. Search any framework between 4.08 to 4.12).

  4. click on the ellipse you added to the presentation.

  5. now you can see a rectangular (bounding) box drawn around the ellipse. Once the annotation is selected, you can stretch using handles, or you can change its properties.

• Is there a function in DC (Android App) reader that will allow my annotations to print in the Desktop Pro Version?

  I have not found a way to create an analytical comment to the Pro Desktop (Windows OS) app go highlight annotations created in the CD player Android app. The document records only the number, date and page without the actual text (see screenshot below).  If you're wondering, Yes to print notes and pop ups is activated and I can create a detailed text summary if I just use the desktop application.

  I don't want to sign up for a paid service if this feature is not available.  -Any advice would be welcome!

  

  Try the steps mentioned below:

  First create a blank Word document.

  Then open the PDF with comments. Go to tool to comment on the side right toolset.

  Click the comments on the right Options.

  

  Select export to Word (PDF must be referenced)

  On the next window of "import comments from Adobe Acrobat DC.

  Select the empty word document created in step 1.

  

  In the pane "select comment Types to import."

  Select the last option "Apply custom comments filters" and click on continue

  Filter comments on the new dialog box, you can select type of highlight.

  

  You can select the type of comment you want to export.

  This will add comments to the word file that can be printed.

  I would like to know if it works for you.

  I'm currently updating a set of annotations for each virtual computer I create.  If I implement VCAC, VCAC update these for me when it provisions a virtual machine?

  I did it for a client.  Presents several options for tag for VM via options in lists attributes drop-down vCAC which corresponds to labels for each attribute defined in vCenter - these values passed to a workflow of vCO as input parameters, and used in a PowerCLI via PowerShell vCO Plugin script.

  The screenshot shows the script powerCLI, I used to put 8 annotations on a configured virtual machine.

  Is it possible to use the annotation tools in a screen/application sharing? Here are the tools that you get when you share a whiteboard?

  You must select the Pause feature and annotate icon which appears in your system tray when sharing your screen. Connect to will then take a screenshot of your screen and bring back you into the room with whiteboards tools available to tag the image. Then click on the button return to active screen sharing.

  You can't Whiteboard on an active screen sharing or share the dormant state of the module.

• iPhone instead of resetting screenshots

  Hi all, I have an iPhone 7 that works fine apart from the fact that I try to do a soft reset (hold power + "home" button) it does nothing except when I release the buttons it takes a screenshot.

  Apart from that I have no problem using two buttons and the phone works very well, I can't do a reset (which I think I may need to do iron on some software quirks)-I tried holding it for as long as possible, but after a minute, the screen automatically goes mode sleep If I released before then it's just takes a screenshot.

  Have also tried pressing both buttons in various orders, but same result no matter what.

  Any ideas?

  The iPhone 7 uses the button On / Off and Volume to perform a reset button.

  If the iPhone restarts, it means that you pressed the button too long.  You must quickly press them together.

  If Siri is started, it means that you pressed the home button but not the power button.

  Are you referring to Mac OS Sierra 10.12 (for computers) or iOS 10 (what is iPhones, iPads, etc.)?

  On a Mac OS computer, you can command + shift + 3 for the entire screen or command + shift + 4 to select a part of it with your pointer.
