Announces vFog and VoP - what he done for me?

I watched the preso 10 minutes by vKernel marketing people and left again to wonder what this merger produced means for customers like me. I had 4 representative of Quest account in the past 6 months because they seem to be falling like flies or are "moved" in the quest, so I'm not even sure who my rep is now to ask questions to. Anyone here who knows?

1. why would I want to use VoP if I am a customer of vFoglight?

2. why would I want to pay more money for a product already does most of what made vFoglight (like double the price by the proc)?

3 support for the products should be confusing at best because this really isn't a single product, but separate the 2 products. VFog Quest people are trained on VoP? And vice versa?

I hope someone can clear the air on this merger. I really miss Vizioncore.

Hi, Mike,.

My apologies that I have been unable to clarify better in the webinar. I will try to answer your questions here. First, however, I must point out again once the new VoP Server Standard and Enterprise Edition is rebrandings of existing products. VOP Server Standard now includes the former VoP of VKernel Suite with 4 products. VoP Server Enterprise edition consists of two vFoglight and VoP Suite. It is true today that the unified product consists of two disconnected products, but this will change over time.

1. you can't, and that's fine. However, the VoP Suite provides a bit of functionality that is not in vFoglight around capacity management and optimization (and of course the opposite is true - vFoglight provides some functionality that is not in VoP Suite). VFoglight update to the VoP Server Enterprise edition lets you to additional features, but also new features in the future.

2. customer vFoglight as you have the opportunity to upgrade to Server Enterprise VoP priced very low. I'd be happy to connect to the right rep for more information - just sent me your name/company to eric.jackson to quest.com. There are two reasons, you can do this: you want to have access to additional features that are available today in the other product or you want to take advantage of prices below to access the new features of Enterprise edition as they come out. However, there is no requirement that you do.

3. Yes, we cross-training on both products.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me by email as well if you have any other questions.
