Any incompatibility between the xp mode in Windows 7 running with AMD a10 5800 APU?

I get at the end of the XP Mode configure in Virtual PC and have failed repeatedly. Already tried to uninstall and reinstall Virtual PC / XP Mode in a different sequence.

Is this a hardware problem?
Recently, I built a computer running Win 7 Pro 64-bit on:
AMD 5800 APU A10
ASUS F2 a85V pro motherboard with the latest version of the BIOS manufacturer
8 meg RAM GSkill

  • How can I move the Virtual Mode of Windows XP hard drive to another drive

How can I move the Virtual Mode of Windows XP hard drive to another drive?

    TIA

    Hi Benyl,

The vhd in programfiles basis cannot be moved or renamed, if done, xp mode stops at the start.

To move the files under c, first to boot xp, instead of save mode the machine virtual., turn it off. (settings to prompt the user for action narrow close). Close the machine virtual., and then choose stop. This will remove the vsv file. Do not delete the .vsv file because it contains data if you have not registered in the virtual machine.

Now, move it "C:\Users\CHRIS.domainname\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows virtual PC\Virtual Machines\Windows XP Mode.vhd" to a desired location.

Parameters of xp mode open, go to the hard drive 1 setting and reposition the hard drive to the new location of the vhd. You should now be able to start the virtual machine.

  • Any difference between the separate function and aggregation in sql query cost?

    Hello
I've run many models sql stmts - such as:
    one) using a single table
    (b) using the two tables, using simple joins or outer joins

but I didn't notice a difference in sql stmts in cost and implementation plan...
In any case, my colleague insists on only using the aggregate function is less expensive compared to
separate... (something I've not confirmed, that is why I believe that they are exactly the same...)

For the situation described above under 1 sql... We could for example use
    select distinct deptno
    from emp
    select count(*), deptno
    from emp
    group by deptno
select distinct owner, object_type from all_objects
select count(*), owner, object_type from all_objects
    group by owner, object_type
Have you ever found no difference between the two...?

    Note: I use Ora DB 10g v2.

    Thank you

    Alexandre Gelin says:
function separate and aggregation are for different uses and can give the same result, but if you use the aggregate function to get the separate records, it will be expensive...

really? I find them almost identical to 11g. Actually GROUP BY is almost always more fast for me in the old days.

    Hello!

I had a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 for quite awhile and discovered that I need a new facility (the computer refuses to Windows to run at all). I picked up my installation disc and everything, only to find out that someone stole completely he reapply. I am unsure weather or not it is enabled or whatever it is. I tried to call Microsoft technical support and they said to go to the retailer I bought since then, but the retailer in question no longer exists. I'm just screwed?

    Thanks for your help!

You can retrieve the product key, and then use it to re-download a new copy:

Here are four utilities, which can display your product keys if they are still there:
    Belarc Advisor: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
(He did a good job of providing a wealth of information.)

    Also: http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml
    and: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html
and RockXP: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4138.html which has additional features

Go to the recovery of the software Page and then enter your key:

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

If you plan to upgrade to Windows 7, see:

    Task of pre-required

When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

    then

    then

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Reboot several times, and then try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
    • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
    • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
    • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).
  • After the last updates of windows have problems with start up and now drivers

    Hello

After the last updates of windows have problems with start up and now drivers. I get an error code 21 when I try to install the drivers AMD apparently missing.

May 14, last night I had several (automatically) downloaded windows update

Today, I was unable to boot my computer with Windows - tried the disk check, start checks etc, and eventually had to use System Restore (for help before the critical update to restore).

Perfection, everything works, but knowing that windows will attempt to redo an automatic update, tried to check online - no one seemed to have a problem and (naivly) thinking I could always do another restore of the system, I rebooted again.

Same thing worse. Could not do a sys restore either just before restarting or last night. Chose a date earlier (last week) but then lost the USB drivers and pilots display. Downloaded updated but refuses to let my AMD driver install Windows I have a very unpleasant screen... and I must now stop the installation of this update "critical."

Would appreciate advice how do my installed display driver or whether anyone else has problems following this update

    Thank you

    Hello

I'm not very good in English (I'm Dutch) only when I talk about games or something not to technical stuff, but I'll try to explain

In recent weeks, I have windows 7 running on this laptop.
First I had vista, but who was bad. Windows 7 works much better.

In any case, I don't have day my laptop with drivers from this site.
When I was running I was missing something.

On the right side where you can chance your schedule 'energy', you can choose between low and balanced performance.
On vista, I had as good, but not now.

Y at - it an update where I can lucky who?
If Yes please can someone tell me where to find this update.

    Greetings,

    me

took me 10 minutes to post this because of your message contains profanity or inappropriate language.
In the interest of your fellow forum users, we ask you to change your message.

    Hello

Windows 7 is a bit different as the Vista operating system.
But you can change the settings in the Power Options located in the control panel.

Go to the Control Panel-> Power Options

There you can find both of these options; Low performance and balanced performance.
The high performance is hidden you will need to click the arrow to open the option where the mode performance.

    But you can also create a mode of clean energy;

On the left you will find the option: create the mode of power (or something like that... Sorry it s just translated)
That could be an option that lets you choose the high performance.

I know the conventional wisdom is that the new installation is faster, but, no matter who actually tested and compared the differences?  I know I'll get better performance of the SSD the SATA drive, but I don't know if it's worth the hassle to do a fresh install and redo all my programs and settings.

  • Compatibility Mode and the XP Mode in Windows 7

I got a little confused on the Compatibility Mode with XP Mode in Windows 7. Both allow you to legacy Windows run in Windows 7. As far as I know, the former just request that you go to your legacy application that is already installed in Windows 7, get his property and check the box Compatibility Mode and select your old Windows OS (Windows XP, SP2) - that seems without any requirement of additional beyond your Windows 7 operating system HW/SW; But this last request additional 1 GB of RAM and also installation PC Virture Mode before you can run XP Mode. Are the two modes of the same thing or different? It seems that Compatibility Mode is to each legacy Windows application, so no additional HW/SW and XP Mode is environmental BONES together. Is this fair? Appreciate if anyone can clerify this.

    Hello

No, they are not the same.

Compatibility mode allows you to run software simply, as say you, selecting Properties and then compare the compatibility mode and select the appropriate operating system to run this application. As you say 'no additional SW/HW prescription.'

XP Mode is, of all intent and purpose, a virtual machine mode. You must first install Virtual PC software and then, after you have created a machine virtual, you install your software and it works as if it is running on a separate computer - hence the need for a 1 GB of additional RAM. The 1 GB of RAM is allocated to the virtual machine. If you say 4 GB of RAM then your PC would use / 3GB and your 'virtual' PC would use the other 1 GB.

    It is also interesting to note that your PC has also therefore support XP Mode, if it isn't then XP Mode cannot be installed.  John Barnett MVP: Windows XP Expert associated with: Windows Desktop Experience: Web: http://www.winuser.co.uk; Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org; Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org;

  • Change the SATA mode in Windows 8

I'm moving to sata IDE to RAID mode in Windows 8 in order to avoid the re-formatting my hard drive. The solution in Win7 (update registry KEY in regedit does not work). Any advice?

With all due respect, Srivinvasa Sharath, your answer is very useful.  The question is not ' how can I change the SATA mode in my BIOS?  But, on the contrary, assuming I already know how to change the SATA in my BIOS mode, how Win8 to accept this change and actually start correctly.  There is a guide on how to proceed for Win7, but it doesn't work for Win8.  So we would know what to do differently with Win8 to make it work.
