Any of the possible/available wireless connections

I just got a computer today, which was mine until about a year or two ago, how my father has taken it because his had burned. One that I worked up until the minute I got it. Now, the computer has no wireless capability either. The wireless chip installed in the back has been verified, removed and re-inserted in the computer, but the computer is either not recognizing that she or he does not seem to turn on. He should not have this problem, he worked approximately 24 hours ago. When I try to connect to a network, it is said that I can only use Ethernet. When I go to network and sharing, the only thing Center appear broadband (PPPoE) and is not a choice is for the wireless. What exactly is happening, because I find it a little annoying, personally.

Computer: Dell Inspiron 530

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

Through my research, I think it's the F1 key, you need to press on and press and hold the FN key (lower-left beside Ctrl) at the same time. This should illuminate the LED on the front of the computer laptop-extreme right wireless.

You can view the documentation for the laptop to switch wireless for more information.

    Hello

Assuming that the signal is strong, and that there is no noise in the electrical environment.

Visit the support site of the computer and make sure that you use the latest drivers * for network adapters.

Check support for the router and make sure that your using the latest firmware for the router.

Uncheck the box to the NIC of energy economy (I.e., do not leave the card save energy).

There may be some variations on where is the energy saving setting.

Here are a few examples, YMMV, look around your systems.

    Example, http://www.ezlan.net/example/powersave.jpg

    Example, http://www.ezlan.net/Win7/power_sav_wireless..jpg

    * On drivers update .

Try installing the latest drivers from the card manufacturer support page.

Download the drivers and extract them to a folder of your choice.

In Device Manager, right-click on the adapter.

Click Update drivers and choose her browse my computer for drivers.

Choose let me a list of choices, click on disk and point to the folder with the drivers.

  • the lack of wireless connection

OK so my sister came home with his new laptop windows 7 and gave me his old laptop XP and now the wireless doesn't work on wither my xp 7 sisters sisters another vista or wii. Everything can not find the network even if the signal watch is solid and functional and our Office XP is very well connected to the internet. We have no idea if it's portable computers, the modem, the router, or internet if someone could help that would be great.

    Hello

My guess would be that someone played with the wireless router and it is currently not compatible with laptops not more.

Since you see a signal, but it is not connected, it should be a question of password security.

Try to connect with the desktop computer to the router (read the manual) and check (or redo) wireless security.
