APEX 3.2 - Dynamic Actions

Hello

I know that we can apply actions dynamic apex 4... can we do something similar in 3.2... Otherwise, what is the alternative...?

Thank you

Hello

Dynamic actions are introduced on Apex 4 and there not something similar on Apex 3.2.

But you can write your own JavaScripts. See for example this
Apex 3.2 hook javascripts for IR and run the when the report is refreshed

  • Obtain / use value radio in Apex plugin for dynamic action button

    Apex 4.2

    I'm working on a plugin that you run a dynamic action based on the value of a selected option button. I think its more so the syntax that is causing me problems.

    I have a point page (P127_DISPOSITION) reprsented as a group of radio buttons. There are three cases for the Group of radio buttons: CREATE, update, and THROW. The LOV source for the element on the page is:

    STATIC2: create new Inspection; CREATE, update of existing Inspection; Updated, throw; IGNORE

    I have a plugin that displays a map and a few other neat, tools and toolbars other clever tricks. When a user clicks on the radio button under the UPDATE, the card must hide some of these tools. This part is not so bad that I have the code for this. Here's what I or tried so far:

    $("#P127_DISPOSITION").change(function() {
    if ( $("#P127_DISPOSITION").val == 'UPDATE' )
    $("#draw_point").hide();
    $("label[for=\draw_point\"]").hide();
    } else if ( $("#P127_DISPOSITION").val == 'CREATE')
    $("#draw_point").show();
    $("label[for=\draw_point\"]").show();
    } else {
    $("#draw_point").show();
    $("label[for=\draw_point\"]").show();
    }
    });

    The statements in the IF statements are not the problem. I tested and been using these statements in my plugin for other reasons. These statements just to show or hide the toolbar. But I'm doing this action happens dynamically on a radio button is selected. So I know there must be some problems in the way I use the onChange function or the statement real himself.

    Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    I don't think that your problem is with dynamic action, but how the html code that is generated when the plugin looks like.

    If the generated html code is not a type of entry right front, you need to write your own javascript code that overrights the apex.item () .getValue (default).

    To explain what I mean lets take a look at the native radiogroup and popup lov.

    A radiogroup of point P40_DISPLAY_RETURN of the page html code looks like

    Different display and return value

    As you can see the element with the id P40_DISPLAY_RETURN is the set of fields. Because the set of fields is not a value attribute neiter $x('P40_DISPLAY_RETURN').value and $('P40_DISPLAY_RETURN').val)

    the value will give you. Apex. Item ('P40_DISPLAY_RETURN'). GetValue() will return the C.

    And for the lov contextual element P40_POPUP_LOV of the HTML page looks like

    Now the P40_POPUP_LOV element is an input element, but the value is the value to display. So $x('P40_POPUP_LOV').value and $('P40_POPUP_LOV').val () will give you the display value ' OHare, Edward "Butch" While apex.item('P40_POPUP_LOV').getValue () returns the return value 4.

    Take a look at the getValue for both javascript code, you see that the functions are actually different and depend on the widget that is the element.

    getValue : function() {
      // get checked input value, in the context of the fieldset
      // note: can't use $lRadios here because this is a reference
      // to the initial state
      var lReturn, $lRadio;
      if ( pType === "checkbox" ) {
          // checkbox will return an array
          lReturn = [];
          $( ":checked", lFieldset).each( function() {
              lReturn[ lReturn.length ] = this.value;
          });
      } else {
          // radio group should return a single value
          $lRadio = $( pSelector + " :checked", apex.gPageContext$ );
          if ($lRadio.length === 0) {
          // check if the length of the jQuery object is zero (nothing checked)
          // if so return an empty string.
              lReturn = "";
          } else {
              // otherwise return the value
              lReturn = $lRadio.val();
          }
      }
      return lReturn;
    }

  • APEX 4.0: Dynamic action problem when hiding point page

    Hello world

    I created a dynamic Action that shows/hides a page element.
    When hide it, if this page is a text box, object, which resizes texarea is still visible... as well as quickpicks (as appropriate).
    If point page corresponds to a date, and quickpicks, quickpick labels are invisible, but the commas that separate them are still visible. Fortunately, date picker icon is hidden.

    I hope this helps
    Oscar

    PS: Tested on apex.oracle.com using IE8

    Hi Oscar,.

    Thanks for this posting. This is a known bug (#9811411) with dynamic stock control show or hide an element of the page currently only the following:

    • The item itself (the input, textarea, etc.).

    • Any other standard compound element (datepicker, color picker icon, all the list items Manager, shuttle elements, etc.).

    • An element label, if defined in the standard way (tag with an attribute 'for' corresponding to the attribute 'id' elements).

    We do control however no other currently defined attributes in the element definition (pre / post text, quick pick item controls, control center, etc.).

    There is a fairly simple solution, and it is to check the box 'Yes' to the ' show / hide all elements of the page on the same line "in the"Setting"region in the actions of 'Show' and 'Hide '. This will control everything, but the limit that you should not have any other elements on page displayed on the same line, because these will be also shown / hidden by doing this.

    Sorry for this current issue, I hope that the workaround can be useful until we can fix.

    Kind regards
    Anthony.

  • Tips: APEX 5 r IR by a dynamic action after the text fields complete

    Hello I hope I can get assistance on this matter and thank you in advance for any information.

    I have an APEX 5 screen, that has 4 fields of entry of text and under this one IR that has these 4 parameters in its SQL where clauses.

    Now if I create a button that submits page or redirects to this page my report can be updated with the values of user entered without problem, basic stuff.  If I create the settings section as a dialog box model once again that I can get the update report as this dialogue submits the page as well as the report can refresh according to closed dialog option.

    What I struggle to reach is to allow the user to enter values in the text fields click on a button called 'submit' and there all stages of implementing dynamic action without page reloading.  I want user to P1_A, P1_B, P1_C, P1_D press on "submit" input, dynamic action that links the values entered into the fields, then fire another dynamic action that updates the State when the button is clicked / modified values what works the best.

    I am struggling to get this to work and I even tried to copy these settings and do them as hidden for example bind input P1_A to P1_A_Hidden by a dynamic action and have the report where clause =: P1_A_HIDDEN, but have not managed to get this working.

    It's possible?  I know its easy to simply send the page and make it work, but I want the experience to be quite uniform for the user and act as you never leave the page.

    I saw on the packages of the app in the chart example.  The bubble chart has a list selector (salary) and the table updates dynamically, it seems so that the process can occur, but I need the user to enter text and not use selection lists.

    My apologies if I missed any, but I can give you more if it helps.

    The button simply trigger a unique dynamic action of refreshment on the IR region. Session state for page elements must be processed automatically by specifying them in the property Page to submit Items of the IR region.

  • APEX 4.2 limiting size of the value dynamic Action

    Hi all, I'm using ApEx 4.2.5 with 11 g BD and stumbled on this problem.

    I'm trying to set the value of a div within an HTML region. To do this, I use one set dynamic Action launched by a custom event "search" when user press enter or click OK to a search bar. I also use the PL/SQL function as set type body.

    I tested it and it works fine except if the content of the value is large enough (about 30,000 characters or more). I can't find any information about a size limitation for the return value of this type of package. I get this error code: ORA-06502 when I'm looking for a big content, and it seems that this error may occur when "you attempted to assign a value to a numeric variable, but the value is greater than the variable can handle", but I'll be back a PL/SQL CLOB variable in a div, so I don't see any kind of limitation. I think the limitation can be in the call made by apex in the background AJAX...

    I need help on this, thanks in advance.

    So that means the error is not my FNC_GET_SEARCH function, but the dynamic Action itself... So there must be some kind of limitation with this kind of dynamic action?
    Is it because the dynamic action to set the value using the package HTP in the background?

    The DA type 'Set Value' is for session state implementation and display the value of an element of page APEX value that is defined internally as VARCHAR2 (4000).

    As a result, you get the above error. Use the approach mentioned above to manage CLOB based rendering html.

    Also of your FNC_GET_SEARCH function for the display unit test error message.

  • Apex 5 after execution of a dynamic action, want to display message and redirect the page

    Hello Experts,

    • A button that submits the page rather than perform a dynamic action
    • A process of PL/SQL after presented with the necessary success message page
    • A branch to the landing page with the option include the success process message verified

    General management and the process should be contingent on the button that is clicked.

  • Apex 5.0 "session state protection violation" during the change of display only value point in dynamic action.

    The following feature gives us a message "session state protection violation", after we migrated our application from Apex 4.02 to 5.0.

    For example, in apex.oracle.com: https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=50676:1:

    Whenever the value of the input field changes, the URL to test changes. This is done in a dynamic action of 'change' on the version field. The action of the set value changes the value of URL to test.

    When the page is sent to the error message is displayed.

    1. Why do we get this message in Apex 5.0 and not in 4.0.2?

    2. What is the way to do this in the Apex 5.0?

    When the condition is not defined, DA works correctly in the APEX 5.

    Is this a bug in 5 APEX?

    Hey Bozo,

    Bozo says:

    How to have this in mind, can be made to run before Page submit DA specified button click?

    It depends on what you want to achieve a click of button and what you want to achieve with DA.

    The purpose of the button and DA can be combined in a javascript function or in the DA himself.

    How this can be achieved in the DA itself is:

    • Instead of shooting the DA "before submit Page', fire the DA to the click event of button. (to do this change the button action to listen for events from DA)
    • In the first real action, run everything you want to achieve with DA.
    • Write another real action, to submit the page and set the application to any value you want. (ensure that the processes we submit are conditional on the overall application, instead of the State of the button)

    This looks like a bug in APEX 4.2.5.  I have a page with a "Cancel" button that redirects to another page.  There is a dynamic action that fires on the button with a confirmation action and the text ' are you sure?  However, if the user selects OK or cancel in the confirmation dialog box makes no difference - the redirect is always performed.

    I found this question after the migration of a page that worked to 4.1.1-to-4.2.5.00.88 APEX and were also able to replicate on apex.oracle.com here:

    https://Apex.Oracle.com/pls/Apex/f?p=19896:2

    (Press the Cancel button in the top right of the page redirects to page 1, regardless of the user's response to confirm the popup.)

    I don't need someone to suggest the alternative code, I know how to build my own confirmation processing.  I want to just raise this as a bug as possible and see if there is a solution to make the dynamic action works as it should.

    NB I found this in the patch notes for 4.2.5.00.88 on a fix for a similar problem:

    Dynamic action front-Submit with a confirmation message does not

    Hi Tony,.

    I think the problem is that the action of the button is defined as 'Redirect page in this Application', but it must always be "defined by the dynamic Action" as soon as you have set dynamic actions 'click' to a button. Normally, which is automatically changed as soon as you create your first dynamic action of a button, and I just confirmed by creating a test button in your application that has been defined as «Redirect...» ». After that I created a dynamic action the action of the button is set to "defined by the dynamic Action.

    Is it possible that you have modified the action of the back button to «Reorient...» » ? The question why «redirect...» "does not work, it's that we cannot guarantee in what order the browser will process click on events defined with onclick in the tag button itself and those events attached as a click event handlers. This is why it is necessary that everything is defined as dynamic actions. Only in this case you will be able to cancel the treatment.

    Hello

    Recently, I upgraded my version of 4.2.0 for 4.2.2 APEX.

    Although the problem is solved (by the missing step), I am interested to know how dynamic action links to the directory of the specific images of version to make it work?

    Dynamic Actions are implemented using jQuery and JavaScript, so their operation depends on the good jQuery and JavaScript APEX referenced files when the page is loaded. These files are stored in the "images" folder hierarchy ('Pictures' are an unfortunately close label, legacy for shared components that reside on the web server. 'Assets' or 'resources' would be better words to describe the current content of these files.)

    The references that are in charge of these files are included in the page templates. These are stored in the database and thus updated by the upgrade SQL script. If the files specified by the URL in the page template references are not created in the necessary locations by following the installation steps, the referenced files are not loaded and the dynamic actions generated on the page cannot access the library functions they need to run.
