  • The APEX on Oracle XE upgrade fails

    Operating systems: Windows 7 64-bit
    DB: Oracle XE 11g 2 32 - bit
    APEX: 4.0.2
    =============

    Trying to upgrade APEX within the database installation Oracle XE on Windows 7. The version of APEX that came with Oracle XE is 4.0.2. Try to upgrade to the point 4.1.1 and, since the SQL * Plus command line (ie. the "Run SQL Command", tool which comes with Oracle XE), I try to run @apexins.sql.

    He starts to run momentarily then closes just MS-DOS Windows. He can not find any Setup log to determine the cause.
    Please notify.

    When you run SQL * more via the ' execute the SQL command ' tool you do not set the working directory. " Starting a command prompt, run sqlplus. Your Setup log is probably is the directory where the sqlplus executable. i.e. C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\BIN\

    Open a Windows command prompt, change your working directory to which the script of apexin.sql is located, and then run sqlplus, connect to user SYS and run the apexins.sql script.

    I put on my 11.2.0.3.12 level APEX APEX to APEX 4.2.4.00.08 version 3.2.1.00.12 version database.  I understand that I must perform the full upgrade, I am moving from version 3.2.x to 4.2.x.

    According to the APEX 4.2 Installation Guide for the full development environment, I have to spend in the following arguments:

    @apexins.sql tablespace_apex tablespace_files tablespace_temp images

    Where:

    • tablespace_apexis the name of the storage space for the user of the Oracle Application Express application.
    • tablespace_filesis the name of the storage space for the user to Oracle Application Express files.
    • tablespace_tempis the name of the temporary tablespace and tablespace group.
    • imagesis the virtual directory for the images of Oracle Application Express. To support future upgrades Oracle Application Express, set the directory of the virtual image that /i/ .

    How can I determine which user is the " " " User of the oracle Application Express application" and which the user is the user Oracle Application Express 'files' (if I can then watch their default storage spaces)?

    APEX 3.2.x installation that follows is users:

    • Oracle Application Express Application user: APEX_030200
    • Oracle Application Express user files: FLOW_FILES

    So to determine the tablespace_apex and the tablespace_files you must connect with the user sys with sysdba privilege and run the following query:

    SELECT USERNAME
         , DEFAULT_TABLESPACE
      FROM DBA_USERS
     WHERE USERNAME IN ('FLOWS_FILES','APEX_030200')

    Then use the APEX_030200 user as tablespace_apex tablespace and a tablespace of the FLOW_FILES user as tablespace_files.

    Hi all

    I used 5 Apex Oracle in Oracle database 11g. Now, I have a database upgrade from 11g to 12 c

    How to solve this problem?

    Don't know the version of exact details of Oracle 12 c that you are using, but mysteriously the question when you run apxremov_con.sql is due to know what PDB PDB $ SEEDS is not open in READ ONLY or READ WRITE State.

    With two versions of Oracle 12 c, I used (12.1.0.1.0 & 12.1.0.2.0), the SEED of $ PDB is always open in a READ ONLY State when the database is started.

    You can open your SEED of $ PDB in READ ONLY State.

    Reference: Blog of Surachart Opun: Multitenant - how to change PDB$ SEED mode as read write or mount?

    IMP QUESTION: You use an apxremov_con.sql of 5 APEX installable script?

    If Yes, then do not use this script. The reason is that APEX 4.2 is already installed in the ROOT of Oracle 12 c CBD database container $. To uninstall, go to the directory of $ORACLE_HOME/apex and use the apxremov_con.sql to this directory.

    Once you have uninstalled APEX 4.2 container root i.e. CBD$ ROOT successfully, you can go ahead and install 5 APEX in the PDB of your choice.

  • ICX/Session Cookie - integration of APEX and Oracle EBS

    Hello

    I'm moving a FND username or id of session ICX APEX of Oracle e-Business to load the information of the employee. The Oracle while paper and the document of the stem of the West, he says that we can use the following functions.

    wfa_sec. GetSession (< username outparameter >);

    icx_sec.GetSessionCookie;

    Both of these functions return-1 or going into exception. I have confirmed with our DBAs that the APEX and e-business are installed on the same domain. APEX has access to the schema of APPS but its connected to one of our schema custom.

    No idea why it does not work?

    In addition, how can I pass the username to fnd the URL using methods (JSP Interoperable with OA) GWY.jsp? targetAppType = APEX & p101:1 or LaunchApex.jsp (depending on jsp SSWA)? Examples? And how can we apply a checksum to the URL, because it originates in Oracle e-Business.

    Your help is very appreciated.

    Hoang.

    We finally got this working. The problem was with load balancing. He was using a https protocol while ApEx has been using http. We changed the balance of the load to a http protocol, the functions return the correct values.

  • Apex on Oracle 12 c anyone?

    Thought I'd give it a try.  I installed Oracle 12 c with a DB container and an APB.  The database basic installation comes with 4.2.0 and after a day or two to play with it, I managed to make it work with an embedded pl/sql gateway.  The trickiest part was the PDB to interact with the installation of the apex in CBD.  Then I applied the latest patch for version 4.2.2 and everything went to hell in a handbasket.  When you run the apxchpwd script I keep running into an error (ORA-04023: object APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_UTILITIES could not valid or ability), which I can not simply appear to solve.  Somehow he also killed my (CDB) EM Express access on port 5500, because who does more either.  I ended up completely delete the plugin DB and recreate the dbca Wizard, but the error just comes back.  Now I want to completely uninstall the Apex of the CBD, by following the instructions that I found here: using the Multitenant Architecture, but this reference is made to a patch (16946990), that I cannot find on the support site.  Unless someone here has any suggestions on how to continue, I'm so throw in the towel and stick to the Apex on Oracle 11 g 2.  I will give 12 c to try again when he matures more, according to my experience it means wait 12.2 ;-)

    Hi Loek,

    I recommend to see my colleague, Jason Straub blog on this topic: Application Express Nuggets: Oracle Database 12 c Multitenant Option and Application Express, where Jason explains that our latest version of patch, APEX 4.2.2 does not contain the installation files of patch for a database of the 12 c container because 4.2.2 was released before 12 c:

    .. .we have not released a new version of the Application Express for Oracle Database 12 c was released two days ago, so there is no software to update or patch to the version of Application Express (4.2) that comes in the database of the container. The next version or a patch of Application Express contains scripts suitable for updating a database containing...

    So until the next version of the APEX is made available, you need to stick with the version that comes with 12 c, which is currently APEX 4.2.  I hope this helps clarify things.

    Kind regards

    Hello

    Is it possible to install the APEX 3.1.2 or 3.2 without the Option of text? The doc said yes, but the apex help can´t serve.

    After the installation of Oracle TEXT it was ok.

    But nevertheless, the installation program performs a check of the prerequisites for Oracle Text and will close if it is not installed.

    Please read the documentation of the requirement for Oracle APEX 5. Ensure that your environment meets these requirements. Upgrade your oracle database or other software if necessary components and then you can go right 4.1/4.2 to 5.0 update according to the above-discussed upgrade strategies in the above discussions.

    Reference: https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E59726_01/install.50/e39144/pre_require.htm#HTMIG376

    You should go for upgrade of the Oracle APEX of 4.1 to 5.x. Regression test your applications to remove if any errors introduced by upgrade. The kickoff of a new project to migrate your applications to universal theme.

    Thank you.

    is 12 c, possible to manage the PDBs with Oracle Enterprise Manager Express?

    Yes - but you will not have the COMPLETE management functionality. See the FAQ doc:

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/database/manageability/emx-CDB-1965987.html

    Can I Plug and unplug the PDBs with EM Express?

    No, EM Express does not all CBD management capabilities in DB 12.1.0.1.0.

    Review ALL sections of doc

    How to find the URL?

    When I run select dbms_xdb_config.gethttpsport (double); on a PDB file, it returns no rows.

    Have you set up EM and set the port to the PDB? Again - see the FAQ doc

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/database/manageability/emx-intro-1965965.html#A5

    How can I configure EM Express on CBD and APB?

    Users can configure EM Express at the root and container of the PDB, with each container using another HTTP/HTTPS port.  When it is connected to the root container, the information displayed are the entire database, including all PDB files.  When it is connected to a PDB file, displayed information is limited to the PDB data.  For more information, see the section on EM Express on the CBD.
