• vCenter 4.0 to 4.1: Oracle DB upgrade fails

  Oracle and VC on the same physical server.

  Win2003 64 bit SP2, Oracle 11 g (11.1.0.6) 32-bit, 64-bit DSN with the ODBC moment driver Client 11.2

  During the launch of the VCDatabaseUpgrade.exe upgrade wizard I get an error and the upgrade fails.

  In the VCDatabaseUpgrade.log, I get the following lines:

  Error in InitVersion(): Got exception: arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow.

  I activated the tracing in the pilot OC4J (attached SQL. LOG file).

  It seems that VCDatabaseUpgrade.exe is running only these 2 questions:

  "select ver_id, version_value from vpx_version.

  "select null, a.data_sizeb.temp_sizec.redo_sized.controlfile_size of (select sum (bytes) / 1024/1024 dba_data_files data_size) a, b (select nvl (sum (bytes), 0) / 1024/1024 temp_size dba_temp_files), c (select sum (bytes) / 1024/1024 sys.v_ redo_size $log), (sum(BLOCK_SIZE*FILE_SIZE_BLKS)/1024/1024 controlfile_size by selecting from v$ controlfile) +.

  The two queries, run manually with vcenter user, return the expected results.

  It seems that there is no listener for APEX or ADR

  2. make sure to put the correct directory for static

  I tried to upgrade my stand-alone database 10.2.0.3 to 11.2.0.1. The OS is AIX 6.0, its HACMP cluster (which one of the nodes is down). During the upgrade to xdb oracle upgrade process failed with error ORA.

• W7 is accepted, but the upgrade fails

  I run W7 home Premium that came pre-installed on my laptop. I wanted to move to W7 Pro. Anytime online update doesn't let me do this based on the restrictions of the place, somehow. He suggested that I buy a key from a retailer instead, as I did.

  Joe,

  (1) the minimum version of the APEX, which can be used with GR 11, 2 DB is APEX 3.2.1. I know that this is not documented anywhere, but he had made 11 GR 2-specific problems so this SUMMIT could work in DB 11 GR 2. This minimum version is 3.2.1 APEX.

  (2) I don't think that there is a way you can avoid the update of the APEX. When you upgrade your version of the database, the DBUA will focus on what version of APEX you. And if the latest version is less than 3.2,1 APEX, APEX and then will be upgraded as well.

  My opinion - and it's probably not what you want to hear, but if you can't avoid the upgrade of the APEX, then you can consider as well the upgrade from 4.1.1 APEX before the DB Upgrade (to avoid too much change at the same time).

• Apex on Oracle 12 c anyone?

  Thought I'd give it a try.  I installed Oracle 12 c with a DB container and an APB.  The database basic installation comes with 4.2.0 and after a day or two to play with it, I managed to make it work with an embedded pl/sql gateway.  The trickiest part was the PDB to interact with the installation of the apex in CBD.  Then I applied the latest patch for version 4.2.2 and everything went to hell in a handbasket.  When you run the apxchpwd script I keep running into an error (ORA-04023: object APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_UTILITIES could not valid or ability), which I can not simply appear to solve.  Somehow he also killed my (CDB) EM Express access on port 5500, because who does more either.  I ended up completely delete the plugin DB and recreate the dbca Wizard, but the error just comes back.  Now I want to completely uninstall the Apex of the CBD, by following the instructions that I found here: using the Multitenant Architecture, but this reference is made to a patch (16946990), that I cannot find on the support site.  Unless someone here has any suggestions on how to continue, I'm so throw in the towel and stick to the Apex on Oracle 11 g 2.  I will give 12 c to try again when he matures more, according to my experience it means wait 12.2 ;-)

  I recommend to see my colleague, Jason Straub blog on this topic: Application Express Nuggets: Oracle Database 12 c Multitenant Option and Application Express, where Jason explains that our latest version of patch, APEX 4.2.2 does not contain the installation files of patch for a database of the 12 c container because 4.2.2 was released before 12 c:

  .. .we have not released a new version of the Application Express for Oracle Database 12 c was released two days ago, so there is no software to update or patch to the version of Application Express (4.2) that comes in the database of the container. The next version or a patch of Application Express contains scripts suitable for updating a database containing...

  So until the next version of the APEX is made available, you need to stick with the version that comes with 12 c, which is currently APEX 4.2.  I hope this helps clarify things.

• Upgrade of the Apex 3.2.1 (mod_plsql) at Apex 4.0 with Oracle Listener

  Hello
  We have a few applications in the Apex 3.2.1 (i.e. mod_plsql) which have not been displaced in Production yet. We intend to move to Apex 4.0 with Oracle listener as soon as they are available (we don't want turn on any web server mod_plsql). What will be the migration process? My apps work and look the same when I opened the Apex 4.0? All the features, formatting, etc. will be lost?
  I heard that there is a Migration Wizard, but there is no information available.
  
  When Apex 4.0 and Oracle Listener comes out? Summer 2010?

• I find it difficult to upgrade the apex 4-5. Can someone help me?

  have installed the database 11g (Express Edition). And trying to upgrade to the apex 5, using slobaray.com, but I'm stacked along the way; Please can someone help me? Here is the script, and I have indicated where I stacked by selection, the problem:

  Hi Godis-Tei,

  It is easy to explain.

  (1) I don't know what are the instructions you follow, but it seems to suggest that you create a separate tablespace for APEX.  Not a bad suggestion, but in your case, since you are new, you should be able to simply use the existing SYSAUX tablespace.

  (2) you are prompted for an additional argument because you have not specified all necessary parameter values when calling apexins.sql.  I suggest that you run again, and with the following arguments:

  sysaux sysaux @apexins is temp

• HTP.p does not like usual after upgrade to the apex 4.2.6

  Hello everyone,

  We have recently upgraded the Apex 4.0.2 on Oracle 11 g using Embedded PLS door of entry to the Apex 4.2.6 on Oracle 11 g using ADR.

  The initial series of unit tests seemed well until a few questions supported around "htp.p".

  The scenario is like this:

  1. the user fills some fields on the page-10 and click the Save"" button.

  2. This button then performs a redirection to a pop up page where some inputs more are invited to enter.

  3. when the user clicks "OK" on the popup:

  i. an anonymous PLSQL block is executed in the backend (as after presenting processes).

  II. another PLSQL block is executed, which closes the popup windows and returns the control to the parent page.

  This is achieved using htp.p...

  For example:

  HTP.p ("< body > '");

  HTP.p ("< script type =" text/javascript "> '");

  HTP.p ("var alertMsg =" &. P38_PO_AMOUNT has been paid";");)

  HTP.p ('javascript:Alert (alertMsg)');

  HTP.p ("window.opener.location.href =" f? p = & APP_ID.:7: & SESSION.) " ;") ;

  HTP.p('window.) Close (this);') ;

  HTP.p ("< /script >" ");

  HTP.p ("< /body >" ");

  The anonymous block under step 3.i. is well executed and done what it takes in the backend.

  Its the next step which is driving me crazy, I tried to add debugging but to no avail.

  The weird part is that the message "& P38_PO_AMOUNT. has been paid' getting appears on the pop-up itself instead of parent.

  Any ideas or pointers to this problem would be a great help. I have come to the forums and metalink for any position and had no luck so far.

  Thanks for the reply and apologize for the delay in responding.

  But 2 doubts which do not appear in your code:

  1. why you placetag through PTH again? Body will be already present on the page 7

  2. What is "this" in your window close event? 'this' will be indefinite in my opinion

  Thetag and the reference to 'this' was used because the application was developed first on Apex 3.x

  This piece worked through the upgrade to 4.0.2 and it starts to play up only after this upgrade (to 4.2.6).

  I had followed the suggestions from the link you posted, made some changes and the flow is as follows:

  1, as well as the original

  2 as well as the original

  3. when the user clicks "OK" on the popup:

  i. an anonymous PLSQL block is executed in the backend, under process, like submit it: after calculations & Validations.

  II. the 2nd block PLSQL for close & redirect the page is now part of 'Branch of PL/SQL procedure' with branch point ' on Submit: after the treatment (after calculation, Validation and treatment). The PLSQL code is as follows:

  BEGIN
    htp.p('');
  END;
  

  The behavior is always the same and seems not to have changed. I'm a little lost, try different options.

  I'll try to reproduce the scenario on apex.oracle.com and in the meantime of inputs/suggestions would be helpful.
