APEX and Oracle 11.2.0.2

As I understand it, APEX v3.2 is already pretty well installed in GR 11, 2 (after some configuration changes). I have a client who wishes to use APEX 4.1. Two questions:

(1) can I put the standard APEX 3.2 who settled with 11 GR 2 4.1

and

(2) I realize that mod_plsql will be is no longer supported in EBS 12.will that affect me when I go to 12 EBS?

All documents that you can tell me would be great as well.

Hello

Can I update the standard APEX 3.2 who settled with 11 GR 2 4.1

No problem, just the update.

I realize that mod_plsql will be is no longer supported in EBS 12.will that affect me when I go to 12 EBS?

You will need a separate for Apex web server as R12 web server does not support mod_plsql. Either go you to Apex listener/Glassfish or a separate installation of Oracle HTTP server. White paper Oracle 'Extending Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 with Oracle Application Express' available from My Oracle Support is the starting point.

    Hello

I'm moving a FND username or id of session ICX APEX of Oracle e-Business to load the information of the employee. The Oracle while paper and the document of the stem of the West, he says that we can use the following functions.

    wfa_sec. GetSession (< username outparameter >);

    icx_sec.GetSessionCookie;

Both of these functions return-1 or going into exception. I have confirmed with our DBAs that the APEX and e-business are installed on the same domain. APEX has access to the schema of APPS but its connected to one of our schema custom.

No idea why it does not work?

In addition, how can I pass the username to fnd the URL using methods (JSP Interoperable with OA) GWY.jsp? targetAppType = APEX & p101:1 or LaunchApex.jsp (depending on jsp SSWA)? Examples? And how can we apply a checksum to the URL, because it originates in Oracle e-Business.

    Your help is very appreciated.

    Hoang.

We finally got this working. The problem was with load balancing. He was using a https protocol while ApEx has been using http. We changed the balance of the load to a http protocol, the functions return the correct values.

  • All new to APEX and Oracle - need help with setting up email

I have looked at the APEX for a few months now and finally took the plunge. I installed Oracle 11 g enterprise, 4.2 APEX, APEX listener 2.05 and GlassFish 4. Fine surpringly and I did the step "Activate the Oracle 11 g database Network Services" in the installation guide and can connect to the APEX Admin Services page. I'm about to create my first workspace and realized that only to not configure the e-mail for the APEX instance settings still (the SMTP host address, etc.) I wanted to make sure that the admin workspace would have received an email from the system.

I'll do it soon, but my question is what I have to do something else for the instance of the APEX or the database itself to send?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

If you already Activate Network Services for schema of the APEX to access SMTP server, you just need to Configure Email.

If your SMTP server uses SSL/TLS, you must also Configure portfolio and import the certificate to the SMTP server to the wallet.

    How to solve this problem?

Don't know the version of exact details of Oracle 12 c that you are using, but mysteriously the question when you run apxremov_con.sql is due to know what PDB PDB $ SEEDS is not open in READ ONLY or READ WRITE State.

With two versions of Oracle 12 c, I used (12.1.0.1.0 & 12.1.0.2.0), the SEED of $ PDB is always open in a READ ONLY State when the database is started.

You can open your SEED of $ PDB in READ ONLY State.

Reference: Blog of Surachart Opun: Multitenant - how to change PDB$ SEED mode as read write or mount?

IMP QUESTION: You use an apxremov_con.sql of 5 APEX installable script?

If Yes, then do not use this script. The reason is that APEX 4.2 is already installed in the ROOT of Oracle 12 c CBD database container $. To uninstall, go to the directory of $ORACLE_HOME/apex and use the apxremov_con.sql to this directory.

Once you have uninstalled APEX 4.2 container root i.e. CBD$ ROOT successfully, you can go ahead and install 5 APEX in the PDB of your choice.

  • How to download a file .xlsx in APEX and how to store in a Table?

    Hi team,

I have an item "Browse file" to transfer a file in any Application in the APEX. Ce_que I want to know, it's only 1) where I can find the downloaded document, 2) how can I move the entire folder in any table, 3) how can I saw the downloaded file by clicking on the button Preview in my application. Please help me do the above things.

    Thanks in advance,

    Chennakesavan.

If you just want to keep it as a large object (BLOB) so it depends on your version of the APEX and that setting associate you with the widget to browse to files.

If will probably start in apex_application_files, but you can move it elsewhere, or load it directly into your own BLOB column for a record.

There are a BUNCH of info on this line, for example:

OraExplorer file browser' 4 APEX with specified in the source item attribute BLOB column

Preview a spreadsheet can be more difficult, unless you want to see as data.

The excel2collection plugin is great to do, resulting in an apex_collection .xls spreadsheets.

    demo based here

    https://Apex.Oracle.com/pls/Apex/f?p=52007:6:no:

Otherwise, you can simply open the document of the BLOB in a new tab and depending on the browser, it can view online or download.

The language of business for APEX is PL/SQL, so yes you can use REF CURSOR and pass objects to you packaged functions/procedures.

How does this relate to Oracle APEX?

Please explain what you plan to use a REF CURSOR in the APEX.

  • APEX and considerations of CAE

    Hey you all APEX gurus.

I have a few questions about the implementation of MEV for developers and users of the APEX.

For end-users APEX, it seems simple enough to apply policies MEV using the "PL/SQL initialization" in the properties of the Application of the APEX. Help for this explicit definition mentions VPD, so no problem (theoretically).

But what do you do to restrict access to the data for APEX developers in SQL Studio using a policy of the CAE?

What database user session using APEX developer to connect to the database - is the APEX_PUBLIC_USER or the schema assigned to the workspace?

Tracking the question just for my understanding is: what user database session (s) of the user of the APEX app connects to the database - is the APEX_PUBLIC_USER or the scheme of the analysis of the application?

If we have a bunch of tables with say ORG_ID column and we want to limit developers to the lines of their own ORG_ID. is it a post login process that can be executed after someone connects to a workspace APEX (as a developer) to apply a VPD policy according to their user name? It seems that, as you say, you can determine access based on the user database, because everyone connects as APEX_PUBLIC_USER or ANONYMOUS. I hope that makes sense.

It doesn't seem to be any workspace - or equivalent SQL Workshop at the level of the property of initialization Code of PL/SQL application. Re: Apex and the CAE is an old post of team Oracle APEX, but AFAIK nothing has changed since then.

However, because SQL Workshop is in itself an APEX application, APP_USER is set to the username of the developer, as you want the username of the application when running your applications. See the results of executing the following query in SQL commands:

    select user, v('app_user'), sys_context('userenv', 'current_schema') from dual

    USER V('APP_USER') SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV','CURRENT_SCHEMA')
    APEX_PUBLIC_USER FAC586 NANDBTAG

It does not set a value of context, but it provides a user identifier that could be used in a VPD policy.

  • Apex on Oracle 12 c anyone?

Thought I'd give it a try.  I installed Oracle 12 c with a DB container and an APB.  The database basic installation comes with 4.2.0 and after a day or two to play with it, I managed to make it work with an embedded pl/sql gateway.  The trickiest part was the PDB to interact with the installation of the apex in CBD.  Then I applied the latest patch for version 4.2.2 and everything went to hell in a handbasket.  When you run the apxchpwd script I keep running into an error (ORA-04023: object APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_UTILITIES could not valid or ability), which I can not simply appear to solve.  Somehow he also killed my (CDB) EM Express access on port 5500, because who does more either.  I ended up completely delete the plugin DB and recreate the dbca Wizard, but the error just comes back.  Now I want to completely uninstall the Apex of the CBD, by following the instructions that I found here: using the Multitenant Architecture, but this reference is made to a patch (16946990), that I cannot find on the support site.  Unless someone here has any suggestions on how to continue, I'm so throw in the towel and stick to the Apex on Oracle 11 g 2.  I will give 12 c to try again when he matures more, according to my experience it means wait 12.2 ;-)

    Hi Loek,

I recommend to see my colleague, Jason Straub blog on this topic: Application Express Nuggets: Oracle Database 12 c Multitenant Option and Application Express, where Jason explains that our latest version of patch, APEX 4.2.2 does not contain the installation files of patch for a database of the 12 c container because 4.2.2 was released before 12 c:

.. .we have not released a new version of the Application Express for Oracle Database 12 c was released two days ago, so there is no software to update or patch to the version of Application Express (4.2) that comes in the database of the container. The next version or a patch of Application Express contains scripts suitable for updating a database containing...

So until the next version of the APEX is made available, you need to stick with the version that comes with 12 c, which is currently APEX 4.2.  I hope this helps clarify things.

This topic is discussed far too often. Have you tried to Oracle Application Express (APEX) and adapting one of the many examples of LoV cascading to your situation?

Look for the p_item_id and p_attributes of the APEX_ITEM API parameters.

  • Apex and E/R Diagrammer

    I have two questions:

    1. is there any ROUND-TRIP within Apex diagrammer?

    2. I am familiar with JDeveloper E/R Diagrammer.
I've heard also Oracle SQL Developer.

    My second question is:
    Is - this SQL Developer
    no advantage over JDeveloper
    for my work with Apex?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi user835541,

    (1) it is forbidden, even if it is possible to see the direct relationships between the tables in the SQL workshop > Table > model

    (2) Developer SQL does not currently modeling capabilities, but I know that there is currently work in progress in this area, see the SQL Dev SOD here:
    http://www.Oracle.com/technology/products/database/sql_developer/files/sqldeveloperstatementofdirection.htm

In what concerns the benefits of SQL Dev on JDeveloper, then there are other significant advantages to the use of SQL Dev with APEX, because both are integrated. From in SQL Developer (assuming that your use SQL Dev 1.2.1 up / APEX 3.0.1 upwards) you can import / export / deploy applications, remote debugging code called by APEX, browse relationships preset on the dictionary of APEX and many more. I find it particularly useful to move applications integration and by referencing the APEX during the development dictionary. You can learn more about the integration here:
    http://www.Oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/HTML/sql_dev_integration.html

    It will be useful,
