  If you are using PEAP (mschapv2) [password based authentication] your best bet is to tie ACS to AD, because PEAP-mschapv2 is a hash mechanism that is only supported when you bind to AD, it will not work if you use the ldap integration.

  Your best option is to connect ACS for the root domain, so he can use the transitive trust relationships to find the information in its subdomains.

  Thank you for your help. I think that I finally thought to it. By clicking on the icon my computer, it would show all available drives. One was removable storage drive I: WD Unlocker but it is only 7MB. After the installation of Windows 8, I had to click this drive tell him to unlock my WD J: drive. Once I did, I could see the folders and files but couldn't access it. I clicked on the I: drive and select Properties. He says that the disc was not shared so I said to share. Then I looked at the permissions and he says: read-only. Once I changed it to shared with full access, I can access now fully my WD J: will try to restart now and see if I still have access.   Yes, you said a table is in a scheme called C3, and the other is in a schema called SIMS.  Are these schemas in the same database or in different databases?

  If they are in the same database, then you do not have a database link.  Or the other schema can reference tables in the other qualifying names correctly, for example

  SELECT *.

  assuming that the right privileges have been granted.

  If the schemas are in different databases, a database link is the best way to access data in a database in a different database.

  Your laptop must be in the lab server LAN network to access, or else you should have the VPN connection to the LAN in which the lab server exists.
