• Building my first "app".

  Hi all

  Previously, I had created a simple Web site mobile friendly for someone. Now, they are asking that they would like to turn this into a real application for possibly iOS and Android and Windows phone.

  If I was facing the phonegap - concept http://PhoneGap.com/ where they use a Web site properly configured and converted to it App

  A main issue here is that my site has about a database FileMaker with PHP backend. As I understand the phone gap could not communicate with PHP, so things must be converted.

  For this I started looking into the concept of separate PHP and moving it off site to Web pages outside of the app we can call on Query / json. (the php pages coded json data) Well, it should work for the app.

  I am not competent in javascript, so I would like to know some good learning (like lynda.com and other) links

  Are there tips using Dreamweaver with javascript?

  I would like to hear opinions on the best way to "create an application" of an existing Web site and alternates to phonegap. Also, I am interested in general comments on phonegap and this process.

  Since you specifically mention lynda.com, you will probably find the following useful courses:

  • Building Android and iOS Apps with Dreamweaver CC and PhoneGap by Joseph Lowery
  • Operational with PhoneGap, built by Chris Griffith
  • Training essential JavaScript by Simon Allardice
  • JavaScript and JSON by Ray Villalobos

  Free of resources, I would recommend from Basics of JavaScript in the Mozilla Developer Network.

  Regarding alternatives to PhoneGap, the principal is Appcelerator Titanium. There are in-depth articles on PhoneGap and Titanium on the Smashing Magazine site.

  I have no experience with Appcelerator, and for a long time I used PhoneGap. When I used PhoneGap, I found it relatively easy to use, and PhoneGap Build is a very convenient way of packaging an app for different platforms. To be able to compile an app for iOS, you will need to obtain a license from Apple Developer. I found installation configuration necessary for iOS rather confusing, but it could be improved.

  PhoneGap and PhoneGap Build have been integrated into Dreamweaver CS5.5 and CS6, but they were removed from Dreamweaver CC because it became impossible to follow the rapid changes that are occurring to PhoneGap in time. I don't know if a more up-to-date Add On is available for CC.

• Is there an expiration on unlimited apps to publish?

  I heard that Adobe will change the rules this year and that Digital Publishing is not going to be included in the creative cloud subscription. Is there any truth to it?

  If yes how much unique Folio will cost to publish by app? Any help will be greatly appreciated, also if you can found information about the UK... as long as it is what is relevant to me.

  Unique edition, SE, apps are available to members of the CC until May 1, 2015. Your application must be approved by Apple and the App store before that date. Existing applications will remain on the App store, but will not be updated after May 1, 2015. This means that they cannot run on any new version of iOS.

  I think that with the public announcement of Adobe retired SE DPS, the company would have the courtesy to inform its subscribers of creative cloud, who apparently will be affected, the impact of the change will affect them. I call Adobe to the concerns of its customers without delay.

  I just bought and Asus computer laptop, using Windows 8. I tried to download Firefox and has been warned (in titanium) of all types of viruses, etc. etc... So I deleted everything. What is everything? I have been using Firefox on this computer for awhile now and have not encountered any problems.

  If TM Titanium has installed in Firefox toolbars that you use / depend on, you can check with their website or the forum. Only the toolbar and toolbar of operation, if any, will be affected; the underlying protection offered by TM titanium should always protect you.

• HP Pavilion Elite e9280t with Sound Blaster XFi Titanium - sounds coming out bad speakers

  I'm having a problem with my HP Pavilion Elite e9280t with a SoundBlaster XFi Titanium soundcard.  The system seems to get confused when listening to some media files and multimedia out of web sites.  By confused, I mean that the main sounds come out of my rear speakers rather than the front speakers. Which should come out the rear speakers out of the front.

  Ran the Creative Diagnostics and they test clean. The software correctly identifies the front speakers and rear.  The biggest problem is with web pages (YouTube, Hulu and others); However what happens with some media files (wmv, avi and flv) that I have on my system.

  Speakers that I use are older, and I would be willing to replace if necessary to resolve the problem. They are a set of Labtec 5.1. If someone things I need to replace it, let me know any suggestions.

  When you attempt to open in the start menu, it also says:

  YES, I did it myself. Is going to research and typed each program individually and then was able to restore to the day before where I've lost everything. Now, it's fresh.

  I have Windows XP SP3 installed on my laptop.  Have tried to install Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security again with installation is not due to an error.  The error code is 0, 1004, 0 x 000, which refers to Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable.  Trend Micro recommendation is to remove Visual C++ via Add/Remove Programs, but when I try to do it won't allow me because "the source disk is not available. I guess the thinking is that the Visual C++ file is corrupted somehow and needs to be reinstalled, but if I can't get rid of the old, used to install a new.  Help!  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  You should never have more than one security product installed on the PC, providing active protection / scan. This can cause performance problems, system instability and conflicts between programs and can affect all installed antivirus product efficiency.

  Windows Defender allows analyses in real time and cannot be used with AVG, McAfee, MSE or Norton.

  If it was my computer I would disable Windows Defender (if you use Vista or Win 7) and if you use XP, I would uninstall Windows Defender to be sure, there was no conflict.

Then I formatted the disk and since that time, the drive does not appear on my computer just in the icon and HARD in Windows disk management. On other computers, it is recognized and displayed correctly under 'My Computer'... any opinion on this?

• After the installation of Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security 2011 Visual C++ runtime error

  I installed Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security 2011. I restarted the laptop, there is an error message:

  "Visual C++ runtime error.

  The Application requested execution to terminate in an unusual way.

  Laptop would be hanging there & not procceed further. I had to restore to the already known good restore point. I've experienced & concluded that Trend Micro creates a problem.

  A fix for this problem?

  This can happen when a previous antivirus product was not completely removed. Use the cleaning of the previous antivirus tool.
