Apple Mail is not save drafts

I just spent two hours working on a response to an e-mail. I recorded it several times (with Apple Mail/save).

Apple Mail seemed to close unexpectedly (although it is possible that I accidentally closed it).

I opened it and looked for my email in DRAFTS. He wasn't there.

I also used Time Machine to watch. He wasn't there at all.

I then deliberately made a new message - and also a message 'response' - to see if they would save as drafts. They would not.

I have other drafts in my drafts of later on September 9.

What is going on?

You checked the box according to the screenshot and they are saved on the server, to show in IMAP account uncheck.

Thank you!

Thanks for this info and choosing the communities Support from Apple. I know how important being able to see the content of several parties digestions in Mail is for you. Based on what you said, it seems that you may want to change the settings of the conversations on the view menu, activation of the conversations or disabling, or expand or collapse the conversation in the list of messages.

  • Apple Mail will not show my mail messages

All of a sudden my iMac (27 inch, end 2012) Sierra running (OSX 10.12) does not display my IMAP messages in Mail.app.  Inbox window (for example) says "Inbox (0 messages filtered)", and other mailboxes are similar.  I guess the problem is the word 'filtered', but I didn't ask to filter anything.  If I search something in common, like '@', it shows all messages.

I upgraded to Sierra for a few days, it didn't happen immediately.  This does not happen on my MacBook Air or my office iMac, two Sierra also running.

I tried to rebuild the mailboxes, and also remove account IMAP and then add it back.  Seems to have helped.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Problem solved.  In another thread, I noticed that there is an element in the view menu "toggle the filter messages '.  I don't know how it happened 'active', or what filter it is talk, but disable Solver problem.

  • Apple Mail, do not synchronize with the server

Lately, I've been a very frustrating time with Mail. The emails that arrive in my Inbox, I will switch to a personal folder or in the folder to archive. No matter how many times I move them, they always appear in the Inbox. I have not modified parameters.

  • Mail saves drafts like crazy!

For two days, I have a strange problem. Mail Guard save treated like crazy. There are a few discussions about this in the forum, and I posted in the latter, but none that exactly matches my situation. Then I start a new. Here are my coordinates.

    1. When I'm composing a message, drafts will be saved at a rate of up to a (new) per minute. If I take some time to compose my message, I have dozens of drafts in my drafts folder.
    2. When I compose a message, Mail will keep recording milked at the same pace, but they are empty.
    3. When I composed and sent a message, all projects containing materials will be substituted by empty treaties.
    4. Drafty are saved only as long as Mail is the active application. If I change to work in another application, there are no new recorded projects.
    5. I run IMAP, and a common tip is to turn off the side draft server. But in my case, the mail will not care; It keeps saving drafts in my drafts folder whether local or server-side.

Apart from you you ask how to get rid of this nuisance, I wonder how it all started. Any ideas?

looks at what is happening comes from your software on one of your Macs.

If you use iCloud and have no local data on your e-mail application, disable the e-mail in iCloud parameters. Restart your mac. Delete the mail folder in the library. Empty the trash. activate the e-mail in iCloud parameters. Try again.

  • Apple Mail window does not appear when I click the icon in the Dock

When you use Apple Mail, if I reduce the window, she collapses in the Mail dock icon.  When I single click on the Mail dock icon, nothing happens. In Safari and Photo, reopen their windows.  After clicking on the dock icon, Mail is the application to the front, so I can't click on window > Inbox to reopen the window.

I do not use the Mission control, if it is not as if the window on another virtual desktop.  Is this a bug in the mail?

    Thank you!

Please read this message before doing anything.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

    Step 1

The goal of this step is to determine if the problem is localized to your user account.

Select the feedback connections* and log in as a guest. Do not use the Safari connection only 'user comments' created by 'find my Mac '.

While signed in as a guest, you will have access to your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you use them for the first time. Do not be alarmed by this behavior; It's normal. If you need any password or other personal information in order to complete the test, save, print, or write them before you start.

Test while signed in as a guest by putting in place one of your e-mail accounts. Same problem?

After testing, log on to the guest account and in your own account, disable it if you wish. The files that you created in the guest account will be automatically deleted when you log out of it.

    * Note: If you have enabled 'find my Mac' or FileVault, then you cannot activate the guest account. The login 'User comments' created by 'Find my Mac' is not the same. Create a new account to test and delete it, including his home folder, after testing.

    Step 2

The goal of this step is to determine if the problem is caused by changes in the system of third party that load automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.

Please take this step regardless of the results of step 1.

Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

The login screen is displayed even if you normally connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

Test in safe mode. Same problem?

After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • Can send via Apple Mail to work, but not the House

I have a problem that lasts for 3 years, on both machines (a Mavericks and now El Capitan).

Sometimes Apple Mail smtp server sends a message when I'm home, sometimes not. Sometimes, I've updated the smtp settings to add a server and change some thing, then Mail wouldn't send when I'm at work.

I asked CE Office at work, they do not know what is happening and gave me what should be the right settings.

I'm about two seconds of dumping Apple Mail for good, if I can find another application that's all good.

    Thank you.

  • Can't connect on iCloud Mail on Apple Mail Mac when Apple ID is not an address to iCloud

My Apple ID is connected to my AOL ([email protected]) address and I use this AOL address in combination with my iCloud password, whenever I want to access iCloud. So far so good. But I can not access my [email protected] email with Apple Mail.

When I go to Preferences > accounts in Apple Mail, the alias is [email protected] and therefore my "email". But it is false. [email protected] is my login Apple ID but not my email to iCloud. When I try to change the alias, then click Security in the context menu, popup freezes and I have to force quit Apple Mail. Whenever I have change the e-mail address and click on another account, Apple Mail asking me to safety and then freezes when I click OK.

I want to keep [email protected] as my primary Apple ID but wish to access my emails to iCloud. How is that possible?

Do not try to set up in the mail. Go to System Preferences > iCloud. If necessary, enter your ID and password, then select "Mail" in the list here. This should configure the Mail application correctly without additional intervention.

  • Where are the notes in Apple Mail?

  • Do not click on in Apple Mail

Hello. I'm on MacBook Pro late 2011, Mac OS Yosemite.

Recently I did not install a new software, did not upgrade, has not changed Mac.

But there is a problem with Apple Mail, which is certainly something new. My trackpad, which works well in the world, Wouln't just click on anything in the email (received or about to be sent). I cannot locate the slider, can not open links, cannot copy the text. All is well in the mailbox itself.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Go to the activity of the window through the menu bar.  It is possible Mail is busy processing something big and can't answer until he does.

You can always stop mail and reopen it.  Often that will fix things.

  • Where is the Apple Mail 'not junk' button?

    All-

In Apple Mail, Yosemite 10.5.5. There is no option to mark an e-mail in the Junk folder as legitimate. I have the active built-in junk e-mail filter. When I select the message and select «Message-> Mark...» "in the menu bar, there is an option to mark as junk mail, but not to mark as not junk. Similariy, if I press control button or right click on the message itself, the only option «Mark...» "must mark as junk. If I try to customize the toolbar, the button that I gave is a thumbs down/undesirable. From left to right, on the top line of the range of customization, the buttons are remove, unwanted as a pair, remove alone, only Junk, Archive, reply, reply to all, forward as a triplet, only answer, reply to all, forward only, flag, move, copy. No thumbs up/no no junk.

Many of the items I found on the Web about this, including recent operating systems like Yosemite, imply that some people see a button not Junk.

    What is going on?

    Thanks in advance.

I should add that in this thread:

My button "Not junk" is missing

There is a lot of confusion on what is the problem. I should clarify that my mail preferences say in effect "Trust junk mail headers", part of the mail that ends up in my Junk folder is NOT explicitly identified as spam by headers, so this isn't why the messages can not be marked as spam. Some of these posters in the other thread seemed to believe the Junk button is a toggle, that mark a message as not being not junk if it's in the junk mail folder (assuming that no header interfere) and undesirable, if not in the junk e-mail folder, or something like that. I could believe that for other operating systems, but Apple is generally not nearly as careless with its icons and their labels. and in no case is the MENU item in 'Message-> Mark... '. "forever; It always reads as"spam." In other words, there is absolutely no evidence that Apple Mail, at least my installation of Apple Mail, has any idea how to mark a message as legitimate - it is a way of saying current marking what the message.
