  Why do you think changing the AppleID will remove your photos from the Mac?

  Is the library of Photos on your Mac a photo library of iCloud?  If so, you are using "Optimize Mac Storage"?

  If you use "Optimize Mac Storage" you must disable this option and download all photos in iCloud photo library, until you switch to a different AppleID to iCloud photo library.  Your Mac has enough free storage to download all photos in iCloud?  If so, download the photos to iCloud and then disable iCloud photo library as described here: https://help.apple.com/photos/mac/1.2/?lang=en#/phtf5e48489c (the last paragraph - stop using iCloud photo library)

  Important: If you turn off your iCloud photo library, you will be prompted to choose 'Download this Mac originals' in the iCloud Photos preferences pane, then all your original photos can be downloaded from iCloud to your Mac. Be sure to leave your originals to download before shutting iCloud library completely.

  1. Choose Photos > Preferences, then click on iCloud.
  2. Uncheck the box for iCloud photo library to turn it off.

  After having turned off iCloud photo library, the Photos on your Mac app can not access your photos or videos stored in iCloud. The changes you make to photos on your Mac do not appear on other devices, and the new photos you take will not be added to the Photos on your Mac. Your library remains in iCloud and available to other devices than iCloud use photo library.

  Once all photos are back safely on your Mac, you can change again for the new AppleID in iCloud preferences and enable iCloud photo library.

  I have an iPhone 5, iPad 2 and a desktop computer running Windows 10. I don't know what hurts me, but not only is all devices sync does not correctly (each device has different data and date of last synchronization periods), but I have at least 20-30 double to about 70 percent of the pictures of my native iPhone and iPad photo app.

  According to me, there are 2 problems causing this problem:

  1. Camera or camera download process re - download my entire photo library whenever it syncs to my PC and the clouds
  2. I have Dropbox, iCloud, OneDrive and some other Services in cloud (Amazon Cloud, Google Drive) that store copies of my pictures of iOS, both devices and apparently they have different time sync or settings.

  Now, maybe I'm away, but I need to know how to get all devices on the same calendar synchronization and set whatever other issues that create multiple copies of the same photo, still selectively (since not EVERY photo is duplicate or create multiple copies.)

  I studied to decide it of just not worth the heavy price the frustration and lack of finding a resolution that would establish the cause of the massive duplication, get all devices in perfect sync and identity all TRUE copies to remove. I'm not ignorant about software process, in fact, I got University courses in computer programming (C++, systems analysis and design), as well as on professional training in the RPG on the IBM mainframe. My last post was for a small, private life insurance company that had @50 used when I was hired as an analyst in their first test system.  Five years later, the company has quadrupled its staff and exploded away from their goals more optimistic financial profit for the first five years.

  I am too wordy, I know, but getting better. I just thought it would be u to let you know that my skills and experience are beyond the average user, but not enough to understand how the process Microsoft and Apple and development programs are structured through their interfaces, products, applications, partners, etc.

  I am very eager to hear from anyone who has answers, suggestions, ideas, etc.. !  I have been unemployed for 6 years now, due to many disabilities.  I need HELP.  And it is only the visible part of the iceberg of the problems that I need help. So, I'll post one at a time.

  Photos detect duplicates when you import pictures and when you synchronize with iCloud photo library.

  Photos does not analyse the duplicates, but checks for them during import and download to iCloud photo library.

  There are a few duplicate programs that are tested as safe with Photos, including PowerPhotos, PhotoSweeper for the pictures and Duplicate Annihilator for Photos - do not use a tested and documented as safe.

  I've seen discussions here about Apple photo library importer in Lightroom and as soon as I did this import, future pictures I take on my iPhone appears in this library Lightroom or will the import process must be made every time that new photos have been taken?

  From now there no Plugin in Lightroom to import images from Apple Photos in Lightroom.

  However please take a look in the following thread: photos stored in the News Photos Apple can quickly transferred to Lightroom? I am not at all satisfied with this new Apple 'fix'.

  The store can make the transfer, but they will use iCloud for making a backup of your old phone and then restore to the new. This could take a while depending on the amount of data transferred.

  You have backups of your old appliance before head you to the store. Use iCloud or iTunes on your PC.  You can then restore yourself.

  I failed repeatedly to transfer my massive photo library of my iMac to my MacBook.  Everything else went well.  I used screen sharing and also I tried to do it via a USB key.  Whenever I get a message that failed after a short time.  I really want to bring in my last album of 100 photos that I just added to the iMac after the holidays.  I have a lot of albums titled with every trip and this one is all that needs to move, but I can't figure out how to just the new album.  In the past, after each trip, I would wear just the entire library of photos this time that I removed.  Please let me know how to do this one way or another.

  What version of the operating system and Photos you have? What is the accurate and complete error message (which is clearly essential to our for help you solve this problem)

  You can move photos by selecting on a single system and export to a folder on the desktop and then dragging this folder to your USB drive and import them into the other system and create your album since the last album of import

  I'm not really sure what's going on, and I don't want to invest time to understand.

  Did you use iCloud photo library with the option "optimize storage' enabled?  Then, it is essential to turn this option off and wait for all of your photos to upload to iCloud photo library, before disable you iCloud photo library, or your photos will be only in iCloud and not on your Mac.

  I'm going to muck about with the Photos to see if I can export all in a place for more security.

  To export your photos to select pictures of pictures in Photos and apply "file > export > Originals unmodified export" and select "export IPTC as XMP.   This way of that other applications can retrieve metadata from XMP sidecar files. It will save the totles, GPS; key words.

  

  To save your changes and export a second time, this time, the edited versions.

  I have no idea if they are encrypted or not... If if it was not done intentionally... I have no backup... they have been very well on my old computer with XP, but are inaccessible on my new computer with Windows 7...

  You must ensure that you save in the same folder that the original was opened from. For example, if you open a file to LR c:\photos\folder, but save in c:\photos\folder b as a psd, LR doesn't add it back to the catalog.

  I just transferred all my files to a new Macbook Pro. The problem is when I open it now the photos are not in the Lightroom Catalog.

  They are in Photoshop under my LIghtroom Photos, but they do not appear when I open Lightroom. How can I get my pictures back in the Lightroom Catalog.

  You say that you have transferred the files, does include the catalog file?

  If you have transferred the catalog and it is this catalog you opened you will see a? on folders and image files, which means that LR needs to know the location of these files. Just right click on the presentation of file level higher as missing and move the folders wherever they are now located.

  If you have not actually moved the catalog itself, then I assume that you have just created a new and so empty catalog. Find the catalog on your old machine, it is ending with .lrcat file and copy it to your new machine. Click on it to open it or open it from LR and then follow the tips above to move the image files.
