Apple please return Slide to unlock!

WE would like to to use the old slide to unlock feature on our operating system devices.

Some we do me not use Touch ID or a password.   For us now, two clicks on the home button, open the phone.  It is a problem.

Please at least give us the opportunity.

Thank you.

  • Can you guys please add "slide to unlock" iOS 10

Can you guys please add "slide to unlock" iOS 10, I use a mini ipad 2 and its got no contact ID.

It is very annoying to press home to unlock.

Please Apple, my mini 2 still works and I don't want to change your ipad with touch ID now.

I will buy another if my mini 2 cant function more. But please, add slide to unlock to ios 10 so that I can still enjoy my mini 2

Apple will probably not bring the 'slide to unlock' feature back since it has been deleted just today. You don't need to have an iPad with Touch ID to unlock but. Pressing the Home button will do exactly the same thing that slide to unlock did, just without swiping.

  • "Slide to Unlock" missing in iOS 10

Got my iPhone 6 s upgraded to the new iOS10 and the kind of love him so far with a few basic things missing that are really bothering me. "Slide to Unlock", it was a legacy feature iPhone since its inception. By pressing the button Home to unlock is not at all cool and would reduce the life expectancy of the solitary button in the device. Yes, I know, we can roll back to touch id unlock, but what happens if I don't use either that or my device isn't a contact id. Can I ask Apple (including John and Tim) Please give us an update soon that could have an option to return "Slide to unlock". I don't know there are millions of people who are not like that.

    Pending an update soon

Try these general steps. They could help.

1 reset your iPhone by pressing and holding the sleep/wake and home buttons.

2 disconnect you from your iCloud account and reconnect again.

  • IPad is stuck on the slide to unlock any ideas

    Hi carolefromcramlington

Try a restart of power: press and hold the sleep/wake and Home buttons and do not let go until the screen darkens and the Apple logo appears (no data is lost)

  • Slide to unlock removal could be deadly

A few days while the comings and goings, an impressive looking sports car whizzed past me. I tried to take a quick picture of it on my iPhone, but because it happened so fast I got a little confused and forgot that slide to unlock no longer works and don't slide up to start the camera. Subsequently, I've missed because my mind didn't work fast enough under pressure.

And I was wondering... What happens if the same thing were to happen in more serious circumstances? For example, a woman can be followed and need to call for emergency assistance. It cannot be thought in a panic and right forget how to use the phone properly to make that crucial call. Who knows what might happen?

I know this example is a little extreme, but it serves a point that Apple remove something that is ingrained in our brains for reasons of change could be dangerous. Remove slide it to only unlock the device serves no end! Maybe they could give us a choice in the operating system of dragging or by pressing the home button? I like Apple products, but I hate how they sometimes change things that do not need fixing.

    Thanks for reading.

The great thing about human brains is their ability to adapt to change. You will find that you will adapt to the new system, just as you learned to swipe to unlock when you've got an iPhone.

Do you mean that only women should always call emergency? Or that only women are not well under pressure and would be so confusing them would not be able to make a call?

Note: you don't have to unlock the phone to make an emergency call.

I did not use swipe to unlock since TouchID has been implemented. Contact ID was always faster.

  • Slide slide to unlock will not start up an iPad.  In the upper right corner is also a symbol of hald-moon.

Hit to swipe "slide to unlock" doesn't let me get into the iPad.  After trying to swipe it just stops and the screen will Dim.  In the upper right corner is also a symbol of halfpipe.

On the Slide to Unlock screen (but before swiping) try to drag the control center to the top of the bottom sliding upward. If the pipe is lit (bright) try turning it off to see if it helps...

If not try a Forced restart of the slide for... screen.

Hold down the home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously for about 15-20 seconds , until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it rises. You won't lose anything.

  • cannot slide to unlock

    TIA!

Try a reboot of the force. Hold down the home and sleep/wake together until you see the Apple logo and then release. It may take up to 30 seconds of the outfit complete. The phone should restart and operate.

I'm about to buy an Apple iPhone 5 A1428 (factory unlocked), to the United States and about to bring it to the Portugal and I wanted to know if it will work here. I checked the forum and saw that some positions came around this question, but it does not clear all doubts because I don't understand anything about GSM or LTE networks, so I wish you guys could help me on this one.

    Thanks in advance!

  • activation lock (iphone 6s) told my MAID ID Apple"cannot be used to unlock the iphone. »

I reset my phone to delete all data and settings. Don't want to sell I just did this because I wanted to clear space and I have always done this way without any problems. Once I reset it asked me to choose my language and country, then WiFi. After I walked in that I see the lock of the Activation screen. I get my Apple ID, I used with this phone and password and he told me '[email protected]' cannot be used to unlock the iPhone. "After you enter my apple ID and password several times, I tried using past apple ID and they no longer work. I don't know what to do, I tried to remove my camera of find my iPhone after I saw that as an option in the face of this problem, and that didn't work either because my phone showed "offline". Help, please.

When you went to iCloud.com since a desktop browser and saw the device as long as it is in offline mode, do you have it removed from your account? You should be able to do after you have selected the delete option (even if it is in offline mode) or in the drop devices, there should be an 'X' next to your device. After that, reboot your device and start implementing screens.

Do your you're on Wi-Fi good during the editing process. Bottom line, a manager of the Apple Store may remove the lock, but you'll need a receipt.

  • When Apple finally released iPhone 7 unlocked

I'm outside of the United States and I want to know when apple will sell the iPhone 7 (and more) sim free / unlocked so that I can use here where I live. If there is one alternative (other than) Please tell me what can be done so that I can buy mine soon. Thank you!

All 7 currently available iPhones by Apple are unlocked if you pay full price for them.

They are not sim for free, because they come with a sim card for a selected carrier, but are fully unlocked and can be used with other compatible GSM providers.

The simplest option is to choose T-Mobile as your carrier.  Then everything simply remove the Sim Card of the iPhone when it arrives.

Note that the warranty is not international. So, if something happens to the iPhone that needs service, it will have to be resumed in the country of purchase for warranty service.
