Apple TV not responding - 3rd generation

Hi, I have an Apple TV 3 and iPad IOS 10. I used to check my homekit devices - activate remotely. This article says that you can order your accessories with ATV3 remotely. At the launch of the App from home, I get "Apple TV does not. Now, I can't even control my devices using their application.

You can only use the Apple TV as a hub HomeKit, you can't control the accessories through it.

Try the following steps for the Apple TV 2 & 3, check if things work after each step if necessary, before you try the next.

  1. Restart the Apple TV (settings > general > restart).
  2. Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL cables for 30 seconds.
  3. Restart your router. (Also try to remove the power cord for at least 30 seconds)
  4. Reset Apple TV (settings > general > reset > reset all settings)
  5. Restore the Apple TV (settings > general > reset > restore)

    Your Apple TV can become affiliated with another remote control. Hold the remote control close to and pointed on the Apple TV, press and hold the menu and rewind buttons together for 6 seconds or until you see an icon of the chain broken on screen.

    Hello. I think it's a restriction built into the Netflix app so it is probably pretty hard to beat. You could try mirroring, that might work. Incidentally, when you use the basic AirPlay, ATV will flow the video directly from the server, so your subtitles does not appear anyway.

    -With apple's tv3, when I do the same thing and close the youtube on the iphone app, videos stop playing and atv3 goes back to the home screen.

    -When the iphone screen goes to the lock screen, playing on apple tv3 youtube, the current video, it continues to play until it's over, after that, the playlist will stop.

    How do the following on the airplay of tv3 apple I can do the casting?

    -Read the youtube playlist without having to open the youtube of iphone app once the selection has been selected.

    -Read a random youtube video on iphone with youtube autoplay and they continue to play on apple tv3 youtube even when the screen of the iphone going to the lock screen. Currently, when the iphone goes to the lock screen, apple tv3 youtube AutoPlay stops too.

    You can't have the content of the AirPlay and turn off the phone, why not just use tube you app on the Apple TV.

    The three lights tells the ATV is ignorant of the remote control.  To fix this simply cancel the twinning of the remote control:

    Pair or cancel the twinning of the Apple Remote with Apple TV (3rd generation or earlier)-Apple Support

    Of course, you must use the second method mentioned since you can't navigate through the menus.

    I have an ATV3 and HBO Go.  I am in the States.  I assume you have checked the main menu in the settings to make sure its turned off the coast...

    Bit of a ' first world ' issue, but really boring. I have Apple TV 3rd generation and also Google Chromecast. I can broadcast anything on Chromecast from a generation iPad 2, iPhone 6 Asia, my iMac 2011, without any problem. But whenever I try to play on Apple TV (including directly from the Apple TV menu), it lags horribly, plays a minute, again with wrong definition (like the old standard through the rain definition), improves and then lagging once again.

    I guess Apple to Apple would be the best, but this is the worst. Makes me wonder why I bought the Apple TV. Chromecast works perfectly, so I'm sure that's not the wifi at home.

    Any ideas?

    You should check the network configuration of your ATV. He seems to be struggling to reach the internet servers. The more reliable configuration tends to be wifi with DHCP and DNS set to automatic. Make sure that the ATV will connect to the best available wifi network. Note that, when you play back video on ATV, it connects directly to the server. This is true even for AirPlay, but not for mirroring. I don't know how it works with Chromecast, but I wonder if other devices have internet access and ATV is somehow private.

  • Apple TV (3rd generation) remote control suddenly stopped working

    I used aluminum remote on my 3rd generation Apple TV for years without a single issue.  Then last night, after working fine most of the evening, it simply stopped working.  The first thing I did was to get the distance within two feet of the Apple TV, and then I was able to make it work.  To me, this indicates a battery is weakening, so I replaced it.  Same problem: Apple TV does not remotely, unless I get very, very close.  Just in case, I got a new battery, I tried a second.  Same question.

    I did a bit of digging in the community forum, and here's what I've tried:

    -restarted successfully the Apple TV via the software and then again just unplug the power cord and wait 10 seconds, but the problem persists.

    -successfully paired and re-paired remote control, but the problem persists.

    ATV shows a solid light when I push buttons, unless I come to this beach to two feet and then it flashes once as her answers ATV.

    I have looked on the IR through the camera of my iphone, but don't see any red flashes... and yet the ATV receives the signal from the remote control if it is close enough.

    Curiously, as part of my diagnosis, I noticed that the "UP" button had become insensitive, even from the beach which work the other buttons.

    I have not dropped the remote or mistreated it somehow, so can't see why it would break suddenly without reason.

    I'm puzzled.

    I would buy a new remote from Apple and try it.  They are $19.00.  If she is doing the same, the receiver IR of the ATC is responsible and return the new remote control within 14 days for a full refund.

    If it works keep the remote control.

    3rd generation Apple TV suddenly stopped to see Wi - Fi.  I bought an Apple TV 3rd generation (stupidly) shortly before the 4th generation came out.  But it works fine for the short time I've had it.  However, I moved it to a larger TV this weekend so we could use the new HBO subscription now (and look at the vinyl with a bigger screen and better speakers) and he would suddenly see a wi - fi network.  Then I brought it back to the original location and it will not always see the networks.  It's almost like unplug it killed, but that can't be true! What is going on?  I tried to plug it into my new laptop running latest everything, with a mini-usb cable, but iTunes doesn't recognize.  The white light at the front of the Apple TV flashes quickly.  I think it would still be on the one year warranty, but I can't find my receipt.  However, it looks more like something weird network.  My modem comcast/xfinity wi - fi still works with all other devices in the House. iPhones, iPads, computers laptops. I don't want to buy a new one.  It then he darn, it should still work.  This happened to someone else?  Thank you.

    If the white light flashes quickly then you need to restore via iTunes

    Mmake sure that you follow the delicate steps (disconnect all cables, connect the USB microphone, plug). Connect directly to the computer, try another USB microphone cable (make sure it is capable of data transfer, if it has been delivered with another device, then it can be scheduled for the device)
