  Well good for Photoshop to fix this, I chatted with technical support and they have a new version of 13.1 to. I've updated, then went in the preferences and found the preference of the user interface, select 200%. Who did the trick.

  I used to be able to save Apple screenshots on a Mac in PDF format. I even had an app which allow me to choose the output on the fly format and also I would rename the PDF file and the location to be saved. He worked for many years (or so it seemed). Recently, I had to go back to this workflow and in El captain, the PDF save screenshots option seems to be deleted. I can't find the app on the App Store. Research on new applications to get PDF save capacity only provides applications with outputs of Screen Capture image.

  My workflow is that I generally capture screens (music) in PDF format, can combine unique screenshots in a PDF document and editorially mark upward. In general, I've used Acrobat Reader or even Acrobat Pro and occasionally, an excerpt. The team uses Acrobat and therefore the end result must be look great with annotations in Acrobat.

  New savings Apple of the screenshots is now PNG and Acrobat do not like these and will not let me import them in PDF format. I don't want to go to a 3rd party app to convert png to PDF. That's happened? Where is the PDF option?  Is - this another example of animosity Adobe vs Apple?  I even upgraded to Adobe Creative Cloud applications complete thinking that it would improve the material. Acrobat DC does not seem to do better.

  I also want to move the workflow of digital edition for iPad and iOS.  It would be nice to have everything together, including the integration of iCloud or DropBox for Mac/iOS compatibility and collaboration group.

  The iPad Pro and Apple pencil (with its ultra-fine tip) could do a great digital editing and the combination of editorial markup. This could be very exciting. However, because the group needs Acrobat for markup editorial, I think I still need screenshots of Acrobat PDF.

  What version of Mac OS were you using that allowed the registration of the screenshots as something else? I just checked our oldest work Mac, a PowerMac G4 OS 10.4 'Tiger' running and, when the tiger was the most recent thing 11 years ago, it is by default in .png. Each OSX release since records in .png. It is not new on El Capitan.

  Have you used a third party before capture app? Did you use a Terminal command to change the default format? This article shows how to use the Terminal to make the change in pdf format:

  I know this is an old thread, but I came across it looking for a solution to the same problem. It turns out that my problem has a cause simple and simple solution. I had accidentally pressed the "multiple displays" function key on my keyboard (F4 on my HP Envy) and therefore affect my screen out of two monitors without realizing it. I started getting the error "the screen resolution is too low for this application to run", came here, tried to change my resolution screen and then realized what I had done. Once I changed the key function to the PC only, the problem has been resolved.

  I have a 15 "MBPR El Capitan 10.11.1 running. Since switching to El Cap, capture screen keyboard shortcuts no longer work. When you press Command + Shift + 3 or + 4, nothing happens. No cap on the desktop image; No camera pinging. nothing! If I disable keyboard shortcuts in the keyboard preferences and try the same sequence of keyboard, I get the error 'thump' I'm using a sound signaling empty shortcut. If I re - activate the shortcuts on the screen, I'm back for nothing.

  I understand the plist for the screenshots has been moved to the beginning with the Mavericks, but I can't locate any pref/plist file for screenshot of trash/troubleshooting. Ive rebooted several times and to do so not as magically lights up this function again. I have another Mac (a Mini) also runs 10.11.1 and this feature works very well there.

  Advice on where other digging around for possibly troubleshoot? Thanks in advance for any help.

  Im having the same problem, so I tried to open the clamp, from/applications/utilities, which is basically an enhanced version of screen capture and mine hangs on opening with errors.

  Im going to try a clean install with a new download of El Capitan possibly earlier this week next to see if that solves the problem.

  Also, you could try manually terminal: screencapture t 10 ~/Desktop/screenshot.png and see if you get an error or not.

  Are you sure that it is an application that is causing the problem?

  When you are connected to the Internet, Win XP will periodically synchronize with a time server.  If you have Win XP on the wrong time zone, your computer displays the local time 'bad '.

  Double click on the time (lower RH of your screen) and select the time zone tab.  Select the correct time zone for your location and check the DST box.  If necessary, change the time manually to your local time and save your changes.

  Then select the time tab Internet - and make sure that you have a server in the server field.  I use the time - a.nist.gov.  There are many alternative servers, including time.nist.gov and time.windows.com.  Click 'Update now'.

  My screenshot function does not work. I tried different combinations of buttons according to what each recommended help file and it does not work.

  I worked with other operating systems that allow the user to enter a settings menu and manually configure a key for the screenshots.  Is this possible with vista?  If Yes, where can I find it?  The help files are a little vague.

  I should also mention that I am not the first owner of this laptop, so it is quite possible that the previous owner has changed a setting somewhere along the way.

  PrintScreen and ALT + PrintScreen are the usual combinations.  Check the manual for your specific computer model to see if using a different combination. See if paste in a program other than Paint made work.

  I installed this program several times (several versions) and whenever I click the link it does not open. Nothing happens. Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 (the editing program) works fine, but the screen capture program wont open. Why?

  I use 6 Captivate with default preferences. When I try to capture a software simulation using the automatic mode, any act done with the mouse is captured. There is no shutter to click and no slide is produced. This is true for a mouse plugged into the base of the computer and the other directly connected to the laptop.  In addition, no screenshots not made when the countdown ends after a click on the button Save. Normal screen captures occur when an action is performed on the keyboard (examples: typing and Ctrl + B for bold text). The checkbox "Run this program as Administrator" has been selected. I've been using Captivate since version 3.0 and have never met such a problem.

  Before I explain what circumstances here, you should be aware of my computer Setup. I have a laptop computer in a docking station and a second, freestanding, monitor. At the point where the problem occurred, the laptop has been designated as my primary monitor and I was trying to make my Captivate captures on the free-standing monitor, which designates as my secondary monitor. This choice was made because the independent monitor has adjustment resolution most of my users have.

  After that I went to the registration window, the red rectangle, to my primary monitor (the laptop), Captivate capture mouse click actions. I even changed my primary monitor to be the independent monitor and Captivate has continued to capture the action of clicking on the monitor too. So, there is always a problem, but a lot easier to manage. Maybe this solution will help others with similar problems.

  I have a lot of images captured with Snagit (computer screens). They will be printed in black and white.

  I usually do the following: open the png file in Photoshop, select Convert to grayscale Mode and save it as PSD.

  Generally, I get the results reasonably good in printed books (CMYK and n & W). [If I put the image I do usually only in Photoshop, but if the budget is tight, I do the scaling in Indesign]. I confess that I am not a very good "Photoshop" and I noticed that under Image-> adjustments there is a command to convert to B & W images.

  I played a bit with this two options and I have concluded that the files obtained with this IVª of different shades of gray are a little different.

  Can anyone advise me on the best method to use and the best way to do this kind of conversion in Photoshop. I'm on Windows using CS 5.5

  In fact, in Photoshop, black and white is really a neutralized RGB image - three channels balanced to have the appearance of a B & W photo. If you want the pixels that are either black or white, nothing else, a channel, you must convert it to Bitmap mode.

  In the same way, "printing in black-and-white ad" is not accurate - you print in black and leave everything else without ink. To get gray you would use a halftone screen of a certain value.  I imagine that if you print monochrome (any single color, including black) you want to convert in grayscale, bitmap not mode. You might, however, want to use black and white conversion first, which lets you play with the sliders and set the contrast of the different colors in the screenshot to make the image as readable as possible, then convert it to grayscale. I prefer to use an adjustment layer for these adjustments, such as B & W, that can be done this way because it is more flexible and does not change the underlying image.

  A consensus among users here who work a lot with screen capture is that you can scale to the ID and the results will be as good as scaling in Photoshop.

  Split keyboard is purely optional. You probably activated by accident.

  Settings > general > keyboard > turn off the keyboard Split option, so it does not happen.

  I am having trouble finding a way to return a single step (version - or more) to get the add-on called "Screen Grab" (with a right click) working again!

  FireFox 8.0 we 'OK' but I don't really miss being able to use the screen saver! Honestly, I miss it a lot more than I like the new version of FF.
