• Impossible to recompile the application Summit in the form of 11g

  Hi gurus,

  I try to install the application of top in the 11g version. Try to recompile all the objects (.pll, .mmb, .fmb) but all not able to compile .fmb.

  Here are the steps I did:

  1 extract the app from top to c:\summit

  2. create the schema of Summit by running the script

  3. set the FORMS_PATH registry and windows variables env FORMS_PATH to c:\summit

  4 compile the .pll, the .fmb and the .mmb

  Appreciate any help.

  I just tested this in forms 11.1.2.2 (x 64) and it works properly.  I am able to open all the files.  That said, if you do not correctly set FORMS_PATH, you will get an FRM-18108 error that says it cannot locate a required library.  It is expected, because the shape has a dependency on an OLB and therefore it must be included in FORMS_PATH.

  So, that means one of a few things:

  1. you do not actually use the version of forms, you believe that you are using

  2. you have multiple installed versions of forms and the system path points to a very old version of the constructor

  3. the error message you get is not one that suggests the form cannot be opened, but rather the one I mentioned above

  4. the file you download is somehow corrupted.

  The easiest way is to give all the boxes of the same name, but different values. Then, on the action page you get absolutely nothing, or a list of those that have been verified.

• Need to switch from one application to the other forms

  Is moving them anything at all for a certain number of forms (16) from one application to another in two different workspaces? I use the Application Express 3.1.2.00.02

  Let's say that app1 and app2 (another workspace)
  (1) export app1
  (2) app1 import to workspace where is app2
  (3) in app2 copy 16 app1 plans (copy from another application page)

• Tungsten T3: Cannot Hot Sync w/application in 'Quick Install'

  Yesterday, I was able to add applications to my T3, placing them in the PalmOne Quick Install, then HotSync from the cradle of the palm, connected via usb.  Now, fast installation no longer allows me to install applications to the T3.  If I put any application it must be installed, I get the message following error 'HotSync operation interrupted. Some of your data is NOT saved. "When I discovered the"View Log", it reads, ' HotSync error: a canceled synchronization request or did not respond to a HotSync notification." Make sure that no change data using applications such as Palm OS Desktop or installation tool. (8009)."I even tried to install on... expansion card a no go!   I even tried to install previously installed applications, still no good.

  I have ideas as to what may be causing my problem.  I did a search on this issue, on this site, nothing helps.  I hadn't used this T3 for over a year due to a dead battery.  Finally got it fixed and loaded all of my previous programs through "Quick Installation".  I cannot HotSync when there is not or the applications waiting to be loaded from the quick installation.  I use Vista 32 bit.  I don't know how to determine my OS on this T3, although I searched throughout this site for how to determine my OS, but, it was too much, nothing will do.

  Hello..  I hope that you have properly synced recently as my next suggestion would be to do a hard reset as there is something on the device to the slaughter of the synchronization.  If you haven't synced it give a try without an application to the quick, I hope it will work.  Then do a hard reset which will erase all data on your device.  If you need instructions to http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/nua/launchKB.asp?c=887.   After the hard reset, delete apps from quick installation and synchronization.  Since you've done the hard reset when you sync it will ask you if you want to use and existing or create a new user name.  Go to use existing, and then select your current user and synchronization.

  Hi Swati,

  You can use the command () HOST to run another program of forms.
  If the program is not in the system path then you must use the full path of the .exe file in the parenthesis or only the name of the executable file will suffice.

  example:
  Host (tnsping AAA);
  This will open the command prompt in windows and ping the TNS name aaa.

  First try clicking the printer icon, select Preferences, then select define a country / region.

  Ensure that the correct area is selected, and then try again.

  If the same persists try restarting your router and the hub by unplugging its power for a while. Once the devices are completely upward and you are capable of internet connecct again restart the printer and try again.

  If the same dtill persists try to define a DNS address manually:

  Open the amd configuration Menu and select Menu wireless.

  Press Setup display network and locate IP address.

  Type the IP address in your web browsing and select network.

  Select IPv4 and a manual DNS.

  Set the primary DNS as 8.8.8.8

  and the secondary as 8.8.4.4

  If you don't see such an IPv4 option select the submenu of networking, and IP address.

  I guess that those who must resolve this, if not I suggest turning off and reset services web, but you will lose your current addtess ePrint and will have to choose a new instead.

  To do so go to configuration > Web Services and select Remove Web Services.

  Then, reopen the meu to Web Services and follow the steps to reactivate the service.

  Using the printed sheet, add the Code to request provided to the HP ePrint or on the connected HP site and select a new address for your printer.

  I just bought my printer and connected to the HP ePrint center and found that there are apps like my smartphone!  But when I look at the application and select Add to the printer, nothing happens.  Is it because the apps are not supported on my model? Thank you.

  Your printer model supports all functions ePrint, with the exception of the apps.  The printer supports the quick forms, but it's the only application that the printer can support.

  I'm trying to use Anthony Rayner's excellent article / blog, Dynamic Quick Picks - APEX Style

  We focus on application Express: Dynamic Quick Picks - style APEX!

  All logic works well - if I select a quick choice in the form, the selected value appears on the form in the page an element (labeled FAIRY - see attachment).  I ran into one of the problems - quick pick list displays at the top of the region and not in the position of the element in the P502_QUICK_PICK_FEE page (created only to contain the logic as indicated in the note of Anthony).  On a lark, I tried Firefox and Chrome, and both give the same result.

  Note that the page element is defined in VIEW ONLY mode.  Anthony paper called to DISPLAY AS TEXT.  I tried to TEXT and other types, but the result is the same.  I thought it was the number of sequence, but since the page element "displays" where I expect (from the select list items FEES page) when I click on "edit links" in the developer environment, I do not think that is the question.

  See attachment to display an image (JPG) of the form.  Solutions, recommendations and/or assumptions are appreciated.

  First of all, many thanks to Anthony Rayner for his time and effort to provide a solution to my problem.

  I write what I believe to be the Anthony Rayner solution to my problem so that others can benefit from his teaching.  The problem is that I applied to the call to the procedure in bad.  The QUICK_PICK procedure that passes (2 arguments) the request item and list selection page that is applied by the quick pick link should be in the SETTINGS section of the item 'Add' of the page with the following: (a) based on = output of PL/SQL Code, Code b PL/SQL which emits HTML = both arguments of the procedure (quoted above).

  When followed, the pick list quick links appear directly under the page element of list selection and not at the top of the page.

• Capture forms easily in illustrator as in Adobe Capture app?

  I enjoy the Adobe Capture application to easily capture forms... there at - it a simple way to make something quick/easy/similar directly in illustrator with photos I have on my drive?

  If so, what is the process?

  I have tried my own but am not have as easy a time as with the app.

  When you have your selected image in Illustrator, open the Trace of the Image window.

  If you don't see it you can open it by clicking window > Image Trace.

  Here, you can start playing with the settings of your vectorized image. Activating/Deactivating the threshold will give you more or less definition to your image, which is what you do mainly with the Capture. To get into the nitty gritty, open Advanced settings by clicking the arrow - here, you can start to play with adjustment paths, corners, Ect.

  

  It's best to think form of Capture as a cousin of track of Image: Capture is you allowing to play with all these settings in a swoop on the thumb, while Illustrator Image Trace allows you to sit down and play with the details. You will not get results perfectly mirrored between the two because they operate at different levels and watch your images/pulling on the black and white in different ways.

  The only ability that trace of the Image is not that the Capture is able to switch reading one shape on dark background background clear vs. If you're hoping to do, the best would be to send the images on your computer to your phone via the CC library. You can do this very easily by dragging images into the creative Cloud Files folder on your computer. In case of Capture, select your image from the Creative clouds > files. Mileage may vary on this - I tried sending JPEG files made in Photoshop by CC and open them in Capture and my iOS app crashes.

• What is the best way to migrate from forms to ADF?

  We are in a big mess. Our company has been developing Oracle Forms for more than 15 years. We have applications developed in Forms 6i and 10 g. We have about 5 products and these 5 products have different versions of 25 to 30. that is, we maintain about 30 different versions of our applications. Each version of the application has about 100 forms and 100 States.
  
  Now, given that the forms came at the end of life of 11 g we want to pass to the ADF. We tried forms of ADF migration tools but failed. So now, we decided to manually to rewrite applications in the ADF.
  
  Our forms / PL/SQL developers, designers and analysts (about 40 in total) are all people of Oracle Forms. They have no experience in Java.
  
  What I want to know is:
  (1) what is the BEST way to do this?
  (2) need to learn Java, JSF, and ADF? (i.e. every 3)?
  (3) it is mandatory to learn JSF?
  (4) assuming that may benefit from a full training, how much time will it take for people of forms learn the ADF?
  (5) what kind of training will be necessary? (Java, JSF, ADF and JDeveloper etc..)
  (6) how LONG will take? that is to train all 40, then to rewrite an application forms 100 + 100 + reports? (Ballpark is OK).
  (7) any other technology we should learn?

  I think it would be the absolute MINIMUM at least be able to build basic applications and begin to feel your way all also described in the http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/jdeveloper/11gdemos/ADFTour/ADFTour.html 'ADF COLLATERAL TOUR' could be shot as you start to build a proof of concept. However, I would say don't you try to build a real application with a single exposure of weeks (in the same way, I don't expect you to design a database of product with the formation of a week only). I would probably expect your developers to have at least the above training, then spend a month or so evidence of (minimum) building of the concepts (or test themselves with the ADF Insider Essentials tasks). In addition, I would probably expect to have at least a senior developer/architect, with much more experience that may be decisions on things like reuse, partitioning, architecture, etc..

  Of course, it's all subjective, but I hope it helps.
